Are you serious? You have 5666 posts, which leads me to believe that you have been around here long enough to have read the countless identical threads to your one. Same old discussions/arguements... this is fact.
While im here though I might aswell get on topic. Pc or consoles? Both!
PC seems very good for gaming if you have enough money to assemble one but if you just want everything done for you with lesser cost id say consoles. The games in question itself isnt dependant on which platform you are playing it but how the developers decide to make the game for that platform.
You mention Dragon Age been better on PC,what about Modern Warfare 2 on PC vs Xbox360. So the games itself dont count but other economical factor, ease of use an accesibilty factor more
Pc, if it's a life or death matter ->
But i wouldn't pick only one system.
Not even if it was a PC, if i were you, i would buy a Wii and a PS2, for the fantastic high quality exclusives.
Maybe a PS3, for Bayonetta, and it's wonderful exclusives.
Consoles all the way, but not because the simplicity, is just that the games that appeal to me are in Consoles, i don't care about Anti Aliasing, Mods or anything else, i just care about games and the games i like more are in consoles.

Yeah, what about MW2? PC still has the better version.
Games matter a lot considering we're talking of GAMING platforms...
PC's have the best gaming experience available.
This is a fact.

Mmm nop, you just can't put the word Fact to your opinions.

The games dont matter as far as the TC topic is concerned. I'm not saying PC cant be the best platform for gaming,i mean aside cheap Steam sales, better visuals, mods etc but thats also argueable to who is infact using the system for gaming.
A PC can work for some and consoles work for some. The price, accessibility among others factor more to a consumer than the games itself
What I dont get is why all of the PC fans always make it seem like you have to have Dual ATI Radeon XL 500 Super Blast SLi graphics cards, 5,000 GB RAM, 24 inch LED Plasma Super Thin 1080p 3D monitor and a 5.7 Ghz processor just to enjoy PC games. Note..(I know that none of the products I listed are real) I have a store bought PC with a 2.5 Ghz processor, 300 GB RAM and a nVidia 9800 GTX graphics card and I have no trouble running Crysis, DAO, The Witcher, BFBC2,, HL 2,Warhammer 40K Dawn of War, TF2, DCUO, and others all on medium to mostly high settings. Maybe Im just dumb about this stuff, but I seriously doubt Id be that blown away by a hardcore gaming PC's capabilities. Then again maybe I would!
I will say though that the PC is the way to go imo. Im mosly a console gamer, but anymore I just think with the kinds of games that I really enjoy...FPS, TPS, RPG, MMO, RTS and Action type games, I will probably invest in a true gaming PC before I dump $500 into the PS4 or XBOX 720 or whatever they will be called. As a PC will knock out several birds with one stone!
I have a nice gaming PC and just about every major console ever released in North America (and some that weren't). In my experience, the PC has always been best for certain genres including MMOs, WRPGs, strategy games, simulators, and first person shooters. However, PC seems to be lacking in a few other genres. Mainstream fighting games, sports games, JRPGs, platformers, minigame compilations, music/dance games, arcade racers. local multiplayer games in general, and SHMUPs among others are few and far between on PC. Sure, there are some incredible indie titles here and there in said genres, but in general if you like fighting games or platformers you're better off with a console. Every platform has strengths and weaknesses. PC's strengths are in its customization and raw power. Consoles' strengths are in ease of use and genre representation.savebattery

What do you mean by 98% of all multiplats? PC misses a lot more of multiplats.
You're right, i overreacted.
PS3 has 185 exclusives out of 645 games.
360 has 200 exclusives out of 797 games.
Wii has 357 out of 968 games.
And that's only exclusive to each.. i can't find the console exclusive numbers.
I can't put a percentage apropriate to how i feel, and even that would be erronated, since i didn't calculate the percentage accordingly..
Consoles.
Extended warranty,
controllers instead of keyboards/mouses,
better cost/benefit ratio (there's no denying that paying US$300,00 in 2006 for a 360 was better than what'd you get for a gaming rig with US$300,00),
longer-lasting (you buy a console, you stick with it for almost a decade),
easier (plug n'play, no hassle),
much more game optimization (you'd never get an un-trimmed behemoth like Crysis on a console -- a great game, but could've been much more optimized).
There are plenty more, but consoles are far superior to computers, for gaming.

If you thinking that helps you sleep at night, then by all means...
There isn't a better gaming experience. For all we know, many people can see their iPhone as the better gaming experience ever, and they aren't wrong if that's how they feel.
I rather have convience.... consoles are already set up and ready to go...
I do not care if something looks slightly better then on consoles

The shortest warranty of anything in my computer is the motherboard, which is 3 years. My videocard has a lifetime warranty, which then transfers to the replacement card.
Also, I've been playing just cause 2 with a 360 controller.
PC.
Better graphics, framerate, mouse/keyboard, any contoller input you want (360's gamepad, PS3's, any Logitech gameplad, the Novint Falcon, etc...), mods, dedicated servers, many more indie titles, many more titles in general, MMOs (not a fan of them, but still there), RTS, you can still hook your PC up to a huge tv (don't know why, lower resolution) and sit on your couch, free online gaming, Steam and other digital sources to buy and play games through, generally cheaper games ($59.99 vs $39.99 and $49.99 at debut), true portable gaming with a laptop (consoles don't have a power supply and tv conected to them, and are too big), etc...
Consoles may be more simple way to play video games, but PCs are better. Many more option, higher quality, cheaper in the long run, and your rig has a very personal side to it since you built it... consoles just have different SKUs and faceplates :P
i agree with you regarding specs. i dont think all PC gamers are like that but there is certainly a segment that seem to think "if you cant max it out then whats the point? you must upgrade to keep up". its all about what you want as far as that is concerned. some demand the absolute best. 1080P+, highest setting, max AA and AF and all that stuff. nothing wrong with that and it can be done, wallet willing. but its not necessary. if your happy with the settings your playing at and the performance your getting then save your cash or get some more games or something. the nice thing of course is if it gets to a stage where your not happy with performance and visuals then you can do something about it when it suits :D.What I dont get is why all of the PC fans always make it seem like you have to have Dual ATI Radeon XL 500 Super Blast SLi graphics cards, 5,000 GB RAM, 24 inch LED Plasma Super Thin 1080p 3D monitor and a 5.7 Ghz processor just to enjoy PC games. The better gaming experience is in the eye of the beholder.
For me, it's a PC. For others, it's a console or consoles. For the rest, it's a handheld.
Consoles: casual friendly, easy to use
PCs: hardcore friendly, harder to use, better controls, better graphics, better games, better DD service, better community
Consoles are great for what they are, but pretty bad for gaming compared to PC.
False.
Allow me to drop some facts on your post.
Consoles.
Nope.
Extended warranty,
Computer parts come with warranties as well.
controllers instead of keyboards/mouses,
Mouse/KB is better for most games, excluding fighting, racing, and sometimes platforming. Plus I have the option to use any joystick, controller, or steering wheel I want.
better cost/benefit ratio (there's no denying that paying US$300,00 in 2006 for a 360 was better than what'd you get for a gaming rig with US$300,00),
Brb making an illogical comparison because obviously 360's have the same versatility and capabilities as a computer.
longer-lasting (you buy a console, you stick with it for almost a decade),
You can do the same with a computer. Hell I bet you upgrade your computer more often than every decade, hypocrite.
easier (plug n'play, no hassle),
Plug and play is true...however if there is a problem with the game or your console you are at the mercy of the developer, ie. Black Ops.
much more game optimization (you'd never get an un-trimmed behemoth like Crysis on a console -- a great game, but could've been much more optimized).
Lol I was like lol. Yeah bro have fun at playing at 720p or less at 30 FPS or lower. Optimization, **** yeah!
There are plenty more, but consoles are far superior to computers, for gaming.
Once again, false.

And this is the best post in the whole thread.
Console resolution is abysmal, "1080p" is tiny compared to "1600p" (argh, I hate those terms, resolution is X x Y, not Yp)
That alone makes computer vastly superior.

PC parts have lifetime warranties (not all but you can find for alot! ).
You can use both controllers and KB/M on PC.
The arcade is the worse buy decision you could ever make. I'll agree it was better than a PC at a similar price point but owning one myself I can tell you that no HDMI, no wireless and no HDD was awful. Arcade was a rip off.
PCs last as long as consoles.. the only reason to ever upgrade your PC is if a game comes out that pushes pc hardware and you want to se all the eye candy. Long story short.. as long as you buy a PC more powerful than a console you will always be able to play game in a better state than that consoles. Sure you wont be able to set everything to high after the first 4 years but consoles can't even set it to high at launch.
I can agree here mostly because alot of PC devs don't have the budgets to do extensive quality assurance testing or some devs just throw lame ports on the platform. I don't mind that though as patches and even the community fixes games if they have serious problems.

Objectively PC is superior, no denying it. If you "like" console more that is fine, but objectively the PC is better, hence this debate is semi-pointless.

controllers instead of keyboards/mouses,
edidili
Remove this one. Almost every pc gamer that cares about controllers have one attached to their rig.
The issue being you can't remain competitive in a match of say, Battlefield on the PC using a controller, because everyone is using a Mouse -- considerably faster at aiming -- while you'll be facing leveled competition on a console, when using a controller.
I also like when people say that "PC gaming is the only gaming", probably referring to the fact that they were born 1995+, since prior to that any major gaming was done on video game systems. In any case, I still stand with my other points, which really aren't up for debate. TC asked me which one I thought was better, I answered and gave him the reasons which made me choose consoles over PC. You can't build a decent gaming PC with US$249,00, and the 360/PS3 are both very decent gaming systems: I'm sorry, but I don't mind gaming at less than Full HD or at 60 FPS, tyvm.
As far as optimization goes, devs do get lazy on the PC -- where they have, supposedly, "unlimited" capacity (compared to a console) -- whereas console developers trim as much requirements as possible, without affecting the game. I treat my PC as the machine I work on and occasionally play Starcraft -- even games that I could otherwise play on the PC, such as Battlefield, I prefer playing on either of my consoles (due to the controller issue), and my consoles as where I truly game.

It has Zelda, it has Super Mario, it has Metroid? and i'm talking legally please, so no uh?, then is not the superior platform and this isn't subjective, so this is all that matter, you can throw at me all the numbers and all the specs you want, but i don't care about that at all, i just care about the platform who provides with the best gaming experience for me, and those are consoles, hence, they are the superior gaming experience.

All of those games are available on the PC legally as long as you paid for the original copies on the consoles.
the hardware and graphics don't matter nearly as much as the design of a game. hence why the super mario galaxy games are easily in the top 10 games this gen. maybe even top 5.

Right: subjectively consoles are the best (i.e. for you)
Objectively PC is the best (i.e. removing personal opinion, going on numbers/facts)
That is why I'm a PC gamer (who owns consloles), because fanboyism is pointless - I just want the best, objectively. If you can make an objective argument why a 6 year old piece of hardware with bad controls and low resolution is better than a PC which can play ALL console games, I'll listen. ( I mean legally, if you own the console version )
