PC vs Consoles (graphics)

Anti aliasing isnt even needed in crysis it all depends on the game.

my cpu is really holding back my performance in crysis...with a 8800 gt+core 2 duo in crysis id be getting alot better frames than iam now with 8800 gt+ single core athlon 64 2.0 ghz socket 939 chip.

Hell if i had a 3800+ athlon 64 x2 dualcore 2.0 ghz my crap would be getting alot better fps...i was gonna buy a socket 939 dualcore chip...but everyone bought them all before i could get one....no longer in production.

this 2.0 ghz athlon 64 single core socket 939 chip 30 fps in crysis ....1280x1024 all high even 1600x1200...but i start getting like 20 fps when alot of enemy a.i surrounds me or lots of physics based crap happening

crysis runs good on a single core athlon 64 2.0 ghz untill you get a crapload of enemy a.i/physics and then it starts slowing down putting strain on cpu ....damn i wish i had a dualcore version of this cpu fps would be alot better.

asssswads didnt optimize enough for single core cpus.

owell it's still playable...but my fps would average alot better with dualcore drop less.

why are we even comparing backwards compatability anyway. no one is buying a ps3 to play ps2/ps1 games those games were good for their time but if say gta3 came out now with the high standards of games now it would get a 3.0 or less same thing with loz oot yes twilight princess beat it in every way but it certainly wasnt as good as OoT for it's time period. point is people are buying current gen consoles to play current gen games and in that respect, pc is going to town on any of the consoles. im leaving with this

As for mods, well its clear PC has the upper hand here. Not only is the PC an open platform for content most modders work on PCs anyway, so modding for PC games is the natural progression. You'll get jailbreaks etc but its not going to stretch to big mods like garry's mod soley intended to create insane youtube videos (i believe that's the purpose anyway :P)

funny this whole time dualcore wasnt really needed untill crysis it's not not needed but if you dont ever want to be slowing down sometimes when action gets crazy need dualcore ...i think i have a powersupply issue not giving the amount power this 8800 gt really wants /rest of my system also.

but this sucks my motherboard can run a dualcore...athlon 64 socket 939 sli board..but i waited to long to get one...all sold out now or overpriced because amd discontinued them to for their newer socket interface cpu's socket am2 and drr2.. socket 939 uses ddr1.

Thats also all the PC games all time. Not just one gen. PC in unique in that its its own system during each of the console gens. And if your gonna say PC gaming is better than console gaming... your going against all the consoles. Not the PS3, not the 360, all of them.

Why dont expansions count? O idk cause they are released as a game addon. Period. Whil i agree Vegas 2 wasnt big enough to be its own game... it was released as such.

O and from that list of 200, only 10% are PC exclusive. And of that 10% (20 games) 11 games = WoW, Strategy, expansions.. and the sims 2.

PC gaming is better than console gaming? Its an illogical comparison. This is system wars, systems arent compared. You dont simply bundle systems together in order to claim 'ownage', and its no surprise if you bundle every freaking console and handheld together its going to be stronger than the PC on its own.

Of course I have some bias towards PC gaming, its always been my proffered system, even every gen I have owned a console(s) in. I never dont admit that. So this makes me an elitist fanboy, even though I still console (and handheld) game just as much, but admit i rather pc gaming - yet can see merits in individual systems?

Its quite clear, to anyone that the PC is one of the most strongest platforms, if not the strongest platform, due to a variety of reasons and it has its strengths and weaknesses as other systems.

i dont get why people have to put down other platforms thats not "their" platforms, when we're are all doing the same thing on them, gaming, gaming is what brings us all here, and its really sad to see the elitest in these boards(whether it be console or pc elitist) literally WANTING to see other platforms and games fail, because its not their platform

some people on these boards(both console and pc gamers) just need to gorw up and realize their are all advantages and disadvantages to all systems, and it just comes down to personal taste/opinion of what that choose to mainly game on, and should be aware of that fact that it is OK to own and play on more than "your" system

all in all, to my personal tastes, i see more advantages for me in pc's rather than the current gen consoles that make sme put the most money and time into pc's, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN I CANT OWN AND ENJOY MY PS2(SOMETIME IN FUTURE PS3) AND MY BELOVED NINTENDO DS


...hopefully i dont get ignored, it seems whenever i try to make a long logical post in threads like these, either i just competely get passed up and ignored, while people keep on bickkering on the same topic, or the thread just dies

If only I could play any console game in any console hardware... then I could agree with you. Like I said, not everyone has all consoles. So it's a useless argument since your only a small % in having all consoles.

Each one of those on its own has a better library than the PC.

Id much rather have this video card 8600 gts 256 mb muchless my 8800 gt 512 mb and my outdated single core processor rig than ps3/xbox360 anyday.
