What is the difference between a PS3, an Xbox 360, a Wii and a PC? A couple of answers there - first off, the PS3 is the obvious winner. But secondly, the PS3, 360 and Wii are gaming consoles, whilst the PC is not. I'll repeat that - they are GAMING consoles. What's a PC? A personal computer? Where's the gaming?

Can a PC offer original, innovative platformers like Ratchett and Clank, with its clunky keyboard as a control scheme? No.

Can a PC offer unparalled racing simulation with responsive controls, with its clunky keyboard as a control scheme? No.

Can a PC offer engrossing, in depth RPGs with precise controls, with its clunky keyboard as a control scheme? No.

Not a knock at the keyboard or the PC - it wrote me this message after all. But why don't the hermits just stick to writing emails and doing Excel spreadsheets, and leave the real gaming to the big boys, k?

Yes, yes, and yes. Very easily. The 360 gamepad can be linked to the PC for platformers, the PC has the best racing games, and the PC has the best RPGs.

Oh, and Ratchet and Clank isn't a platformer anymore.

God you're ignorant.

"Real gaming?" You mean gaming, which the PC performs outstandingly at.

I put my PC together specifically for gaming.

It just does a lot of other things as well.

I believe that TC never heard of "Gaming Rigs", or powerful 3D accelerators which are made and tuned with games in mind. What about all the different controllers available for the PC or Racing wheels. I guess nobody told Nvidia or ATI that PC is not a gaming platform. /sarcasm.

lmao @ dorky

and expensive, ill giv eu a little argument u rarely ever hear

pretty much every household has PC(obviously including every fanboy that posts in here) and they spend about 600-800 for that computer for only uses such as web browsing, email, etc

even with that much money spent on an average pc from best buy or circuit city or wherever, u can use some knowledge and build ur own computer than can handle all of todays games with very acceptable framerates and max settings for that much money, and u can throw in a couple hundred more(the money u would spend on a console)to turn it into a top of the line rig

im no pc fanboy(i have a ps3 and love it)

i usually hate saying this but...

this thread fails

Keyboards are awesome at FPS, RPG and RTS. Playing any of those three genres with a console = pure gimpage. If the PC isn't meant for gaming, why do I have a 1600 DPI mouse? Why do I have a keyboard with 15 macro keys? I've got more macro keys than controllers have ACTUAL keys ROFL! Again, why do you think Nvidia makes gaming hardware?

Your logical fallacies are amazing, please continue.

So basically your whole post is about how you think it's impossible to play a game with a keyboard and find it fun. First of all there are hundreds of controlers you can buy to connect to your pc including the 360 one. And its like saying mobile phones cant play music or take photos just because its not calkled a mp3 player or digital camera. What an idiotic argument.

1 word why PC games will always be awesome.

MODS

You can make a decent game great, or just extend the replay value. Heck, I'm still playing games from 2002 and 2003 like their new.

This is obviously flamebait. Shoddy hardware? How exactly is my Razer mouse shoddy hardware? My Logitech G15 shoddy hardware? My 9800GX2 shoddy hardware?

Please explain.

Oh no, it's fantastic hardware. It just ain't well suited to games.

Crysis, World in Conflict?

Uh, yes? Do you think spouting out game names somehow wins you the argument?

Allow me to retort, again: Big Rigs.

So having a bad game makes it a bad system NO

and what console do you support.

And the PS3 and 360 are, I don't know if you heard but both the PS3 and 360 use PC hardware, CPU- got it from macs, GPUs- RSX= 7800GTX, Xenos= x1900/R600 hybrid, Memory- DDR3 and Rambus were all being used in PCs, so by your logic consoles aren't suited for gaming neither.

No, they're GAMING consoles, hence they are for GAMING.

Whats a gaming rig then? :)

What the HELL does Bg Rigs have ANYTHING to do with the argument?

When people think of PC games, they immediately think of Big Rigs. I'm not denying that the PC has good games, but Big Rigs, unfortunately, defines PC gaming.

So, I ask you again. What is my hardware made for?

If there are great games on the PC, then clearly it's suited to games. So yes, even naming a single great game wins the argument.
