I sure as hell don't. Online keeps gaming entertaining. I didn't have that back in the 90s. I didn't even play really any shooters online until I got Live for the 360. Now I am a console/PC gamer and loving it.

A lot of PS3 owners own a 360 and vice versa.

If you can beat MGS4 in 7 hours than you must be a game guru. Besides, Halo 3 and Gears 2 both can be beaten in that time frame, so you kinda lose argument there.

You still don't have an argument, the games you mentioned were never Playstation exclusives. In fact GTAIII was on the Xbox, so how do you even bring that up? The Playstation has had many great exclusives from it's first party developers such as Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Shadow of the Colossus, GT, ICO, GoW, SOCOM and many Metal Gear Solid games.

You have mentioned the games that went to the 360, but what about the ones that went to the PS3? Such as Bioshock, Ninja Gaiden, Tales of Vesparia, Lost Planet, Oblivion. There is probably more, but need I go on? Compared to what the PS3 lost, I think the 360 took just as much of a blow.

But the difference between the PS3 and 360, is the PS3 actually has more than third party developers to back them up.

MGS4 is all movies, skip the movies and you get 2 hours of gameplay, seriously. Game wouldn't be so bad if you could play the cutscenes instead of watch them, and if the graphics weren't so ugly. Gears of War and Halo are shooters and have fine lenghts - multiplayer is were they are at.

GTAIII was on the Xbox when it was irrelevent, like 2 years later after the PS2. A lot of people forget that. And yeah the PS2 had tons of good games but the PS3 does not, and it's reflected by sales and scores.

Bioshock came out a year after the Xbox 360 version, same with Nina Gaiden, TOV, Lost Planet, Oblivion.... if you're going to steal exclusives (and none of these are as important as Final Fantasy and GTAIV), at least steal it for a day one release. Seriously, I beat all those games you mentioned by the time they came out on the PS3.

Xbox 360 has better first party - Gears of War and Halo sell more systems than any of Sony's franchises, and they score higher too.

They either save up their allowance or nag their parents long enough untill their parents buy it for them. This can be seen by the sickening immaturity from the lemmings on SW and even on Xbox live. Why is it so hard for some of you Sony fanboys to realize that its not just money, but the bottom line is one console alone takes up a lot of time. People do have lives you know. They have bills and they have to work to pay those bills, which means that is more time away from home. Money also does play a big part in it because that is still $300 plus $60 games and what have you. Thats a car payment for me, so while you sit here and complaing that 360 gamers don't go and buy a PS3 and vis versa people just don't have the time nor the money.

It's not an opinion - it's a fact. The PS3 has no killer-apps and although MGS4 was close it didn't do enough. That's why many people don't care about the PS3.

Now that the PS3 is priced the same as the 360 (the good model) and has more than the 360 and free online, I told my co-worker who owns a xbox and is an avid xbox360 about it. He like normal started bashing it for no reason atall. His brother in law let him borrow his ps3 while he went overseas 2 weeks ago. I lent him MGS4 and he couldn't stand it, His reason, was "It's just not right having a japanse game focusing on American charcters....blah blah blah...." You can imagine the arguments at work about this.

So I lent him uncharted, he loved it and finished the game in 3-4 days playing every day. But today when I told him about the slim, and another co-worker got in the mix, he just went off bashing it again. He asked me: "Name the best ps3 games." i did , I gave him about 6 exclusives, he said, "well I have never heard of any of those, they must not be good. I bet if you asked a random person on the street they wouldn't know them, but they would know halo and COD4." I said "just because a game isn't as marketed as halo doesn't maen it's a bad game." He said "If the game is good like halo people would know it....blah, blah , blah" It remeinded me a lot of some lemmings views on this forum.

This led to an argument, my thought is why do some people only follow what is popular or marketed to the extreme? Why do they not even give other games a chance? This same question can be done to genres too. It makes no sense to me why it's so important to him that a game be known by everyone. What happened to new ips, and good games in genral. Why are some people stuck on populartiy and trends? The PS3 has an incredible lineup, it's just makes me think that maybe people are to absorbed in the "MTV", "Trendy attitude" to recognize what great games are there or coming out., or they may not even try them becasue they're not Halo or COD4. It's sad to think that a big chunk of America is just like him, only following the "Trend of the day" ...what's your take? Do you think more people will try ps3 games now that the price is down or do you think people are going to still be like my co-worker... "It doesn't have halo" mentality?

A game that pushes a system to unbelievable heights. Without it, it would not be near as successful. Final Fantasy VII, Grand Theft Auto III, Halo, Super Mario 64, etc. etc.

I'm sorry but i must have missed the announcement that the PS3 was the best console ever. Maybe, despite the price people prefer the xbox? Maybe despite Blu-Ray, RROD and even teh cell, people prefer the Xbox?

I myself prefer the PS3, my friends the Xbox ... we don't argue about it infactm, i don't remember a time we have even discussed it.

No one HAS to want a PS3. You dont NEED a PS3 to enjoy games, and gaming in general. Any console this gen has more then enough to keep the average person happy.
