I remember when petitions meant something.

Being a Wii U owner, even I can't think of what use the gamepad would be for if GTA V was to be on the Wii U. People aren't buying that many pro controllers. We'll see after the next smash.NationProtector

So more people than the total amount of console owners signed this petition. Nice.

Why waste their time making a port that isn't going to sell at all? Most people that have a Wii U already have a PS3 or 360.

As much as I like my Wii-U and would like GTA to be on it, 5,500 signatures is laughable.

Highly unlikely unless Nintendo feels like throwing a truckload of cash at Rockstar.  I have no idea how much it would cost to port to the WiiU, but I'm almost certain that Rockstar would see a loss from it.

Well that settles it. No way R* can ignore that number.

It's an amazing game, though anyone who owns only a Wii U has likely only ever owned Nintendo systems, and doesn't know how great the franchise is or simply have no interest.

But man, they are missing out, and at this point anyone who says otherwise is probably jealous of not being able to play it. Or like, trolling, I guess.

Eh... I know you said probably, but yeah.  I just don't care lol.  With the exception of the handheld games, I've owned every GTA to date.  And I get bored so quickly every single time.

No jealousy here, I really just don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.  I'll get the game eventually, but I just cant bring myself to pay more than 10 bucks for it.

Meanwhile the "I'm happy with the PS3/360 version" petition is at about 16 million signatures and rising.

It would take a lot more than five thousand some signatures for Rockstar to port the game to the WiiU. Probably at least 100x more...

PC version will happen, that's quite obvious looking at past GTA installments. PS4/X1 versions are more than likely as well if Rockstar plans to continue with DLC's and, more importantly, GTA Online.
