Planetside 2 = Graphics King?

It has some of the best lighting I've ever seen in a video game, and the scale is extremely impressive. I would say it's a contender, but they never really polished up the horrible AA, the AF, or the LoD system like I thought they would back in beta.

At the least you won't find a better F2P game right now. They haven't even unlocked the "ultra" graphics settings becasue the engine is still not very mature and it's not extremely well optimized (it gets better all of the time) and the target specs for ultra are higher than the high end GPUs right now.

And the want for the WiiU shows that the market is ready for new hardware. If sony and MS don't announce a new console before or at E3 next year I'll be disappointed.

It's an awsome looking game but I'm not sure if I'd say it was graphics king. Hugely better than anything on the consoles but of course there are limits to what 7 year hardware can do, no matter how many illusions the devs come out with (masses of bloom and heavy colour filters).

Why are there votes for UC3 and Halo 4? If you really believe that either of those games can compare, you have never seen a game maxed out on a gaming rig. However I choose to think it's just fanboy tinted glasses.

Having played it maxed out at 1080p for a while, yeah, this is one of the best looking games out there right now. I'd say top 3. Dem night battles. <3

naah not king... It is a really good looking game for the KIND of game it is, and it certainly don't look bad with everything on high.

But best looking on pc? That it is not.

Some of those pics look like a more polished Ratchet and Clank or even similar to Wipeout HD. Not really that impressive for hermit standards.kuraimen

Oh, I agree, compared to the visuals of most modern PC games, they fall flat, but when it comes to console standards, they're great looking, right up there with Uncharted 3, or maybe even better...

Planetside 2 is mostly CPU limited, I don't think it would hurt that much.

It's a good looking game but graphics king? not really. It does have some nice art and the lighting on high is excellent, but there are a lot of graphics issues, and anything but high settings pretty much is fugly. I have to play on medium to get decent framerates and at those settings the textures are a nightmare. Wish they had spent a bit of time on optimization so textures on medium weren't so blurry and horrible, or switching to high textures was an alternative.
