Planetside 2 = Graphics King?

not really. i was actually rather underwhelmed once i got to try it myself. there are also plenty of awful textures scattered around, especially indoors. doesn't help that the game runs like sh!t and the animations are incredibly stiff. DISCLAIMER: i am only talking about graphics, i did not, at any moment in my post, mention anything regarding the quality, the gameplay, or the enjoyment to be had playing planetside 2.BrunoBRS

Yes cos usually on SW people would claim you hate the game or don't understand it if you say anything slightly bad about it. Even constructively.

Planetside has some amazing lighting but let down by everything else, for very obvious reasons. You can't have ragdoll physics animations due to the sheer number of people on screen, it would be a computational nightmare. Also textures are very bad at times due to the size of everything too.

I would love to see them do a smaller game just to see what their visuals would look like. But PS2 is an extremely good team based shooter. And the scale is unrivalled.

It doesn't look as good as Crysis or Metro, but considering the scale, it blows those games out of the water.

Battlefield 3 has a much smaller render distance and far less going on at any one time. It is more demanding on the GPU, while Planetside 2 is more demanding on the CPU.

Um, no, game does things impressive and can look really awesome at times, but there are a lot of weak/ugly textures even on High.

It looks good when you play it but it's no graphics king.
