I'll probably enjoy Darksiders for once if that happens.

Platinum Games does fit with Nintendo. Problem from Nintendo's perspective is talent leakage once they buy a team.
Ideally it would be nice to have them as the 3D action game / occasional Starfox machine. I became a big fan of this team after Bayonetta and Vanquish.
It's only a matter of time before Japan = Nintendo anyway, given how irrelevant SCE is. Should be doable to establish Nintendo home console as the core system there in the same way they absorbed the PSP userbase through a series of betrayaltons.
Wow, I totally forgot about Rocksteady. rocksteady??? they are one dimensional developers[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]
I think he's joking, no news.
They have not yet exhibited the right skillset for Darksiders anyway. If I had to throw Darksiders at someone it would be Rocksteady.

[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]A little disappointed Warner didn't jump in. In fact Warner plus Vigil would have been a cool combo. Best possible combo. Darksiders would slide right in next to Mortal Kombat and Batman. It completely matches their portfolio. Plus WB interactive needs more studios.I think he's joking, no news.

[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] Sega didn't want to fund Bayonetta 2, and they were holding off Anarchy Reigns for so long.I think Nintendo buying them makes the most sense. Nintendo is clearly willing to fund the IPs they develop and Platinum seems content with the relationship. Only downside is there would be no sequel to Rising, as Konami wants multiplatform development. That and the studio would be stuck with Nintendo, on nintendo tech, and for all intents and purposes would be at the mercy of Nintendo. Platinum isn't exactly selling themselves, and I'd like them to keep it that way. Nintendo has always been very kind to its internal development teams. I don't see the issue. Personally, I think it'd be a great fit, but I understand the desire for Platinum to remain independent and doing contract work. I think a continued partnership with Nintendo in some form does seem likely, though.
If anything they need to move from Sega. Not sure if I'd want them with Nintendo either. jg4xchamp

You don't want them to help out with Bayonetta 2? :P
But yeah, like I said, I understand the argument. However, if any developer was going to purchase them... I'd like it to be Nintendo.
Kamiya directing Star Fox? OMG.
well that's interesting... but has Platinum ever made a game like Darksiders? Maybe they could make it work if they brought some talent from Vigil.. I wish Nintendo had bough Vigil and Darksiders. I think that combo would have worked out great.Sword-DemonDarksider is Zelda-ish....Okami developed my Platinum Games is Zelda-ish. Perfect match.
But NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! on the Nintendo deal. It would become a Wii-U exclusive and they would turn it into a kid game. NO, just NO!!!

oh yeah, forgot about Okami and I've never seen Nintendo buy an established franchise and then change its core concepts, what makes you think they would make it a "kid game"? as long as Vigil were still the devs, I don't see Nintendo interfering too much.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="rjdofu"] Okami developed by platinum?rjdofuClover. oh yeah, forgot about Okami and I've never seen Nintendo buy an established franchise and then change its core concepts, what makes you think they would make it a "kid game"? as long as Vigil were still the devs, I don't see Nintendo interfering too much.Well because Nintendo would more than likely make it a Wii-U exclusive, then kid it up because their first party games are kiddy. No swearing, no mature content ect.If Vigil was still working on the game, and Nintendo bought the rights, then Nintendo would still make the game a exclusive.
If Platinum games bought the rights themselves and co developed it with Vigil, that would be the best option ever.

Kamiya could revive that Project HAMMER thing that was on the Wii too.

So far I'd say it might be a positive reaction on Bayonetta 2. That sneak peak made the game look...different? Like I feel like the art side of it isn't as washed out as Bayonetta one was, and now that her outfit is more leather I'm gonna assume either due to the lack of sales or Nintendo she'll be less likely to use her hair to go nude? Which honestly I think is for the best. I liked what Kamiya was aiming for, but it didn't help his bottom line in this case. If the gameplay is intact, Bayo is still sassy, and they are able to create a game that isn't a retread of the original I'll be more than thrilled. That said I still don't want Platinum stuck with Nintendo forever. Although sure maybe a Kamiya starfox could be fun.[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] I want Nintendo of America as far away from future Platinum titles that aren't wonderful 101 as much as possible.
I doubt Platinum stops having a relationship with Nintendo(after all their first attempt was Madworld), but I prefer them independent to do whatever they please. Though I do like how the Nintendo resources are helping out the look of Bayonetta 2.jg4xchamp

Like you said, I get what he was going for, but I wouldn't mind if they toned down Bayonetta's camp a little (or a lot). Because it's not even enjoyable camp like DMC is. It's just bad. Who are we kidding? A Kamiya Star Fox would be godly. He wants to make it, to boot. The Darksiders games are built more on their puzzles & exploration then their fighting so I don't think Platinum games would be a good match.

Oh my God, do this. For good measure, have Nintendo buy out Platinum Games.charizard1605Sorry Char, but no. I'm against Nintendo buying them as much as I'm against SEGA buying them. Platinum is a developer that needs to be third party that NEEDS to expand as much as possible.

DarkLink77That's just riduclous, because between the videogame references and Bayonetta herself there are plenty of lol worthy moments. Game was the perfect brand of crazy and styIe and substance all rolled into one awesome action game.

Neither of those games came out, so it's moot.
The point is, Rocksteady made Arkham Asylum and a sequel to Arkham Asylum (and Urban Chaos, but yeah). Until they start a new franchise and it's just Batman again, you can't really call them 1-dimensional.

This is true. They have to try something else and fail, first. Though, most of the best developers are one-dimensional, so...Darksiders 2 sold 2.4 million and had a budget of 78.4 million.
Why did no one pick this up again and give them a smaller budget?

Thought it was actual sales data but it's just THQ's predictions at the time of filing. Got it from GAF and that's what they said it was.
