There's no way. Sony needs a profit.

microsoft will definatley have the weaker console in regards to hardware specs.   The rumors of the playstation 4 turned out to be true .. I dont see why the xbox 720 rumors will not be also true. Â
Â
Xbox 720 is using 8 Gigs of DDR 3 memory instead of ps4 8 gigs of DDR5.         Xbox 720 apu/gpu specs say that it 14 gcn units instead of sonys 18.   The rumors said wayyyy before the announcement the ps4 has 1.84 teraflops for the gpu, which turned out to be true.....  Xbox rumors point towards 1.2 Teraflops........    If the rumors turn out to be true, ps4 has roughly %50 more power than the nextbox.
Â
So anybody thinking Xbox will have better hardware are delusional. Â ps4 will sport the strongest hardware. Â Xbox seems focused to do other things in addition to gaming. they probably gonna push this kinect gimmick even further. Â I dunno why they havent learn from the WII.. Â Â Nobody cares for these gimmicks anymore, the casuals will stay casuals. Â Â Cater to the hardcore and word of mouth will spread. Look at ps3 and xbox 360, Ya sure none of them were selling like hotcakes when they first released, But wii sold at 1/2 the price and yet still after a couple years ps3 and xbox still managed to outsell that piece of junk. WII U is dead, nobody cares about gimmicks anymore.

Remove $100 for Wii U gamepad and you have a $200 console.[QUOTE="SaltyMeatballs"]
[QUOTE="1PMrFister"]If Nintendo is losing money with every Wii-U sold at a minimum of $300, there's no way in hell Sony's much beefier system is retailing at that price. $300 might be the eventual price when sales start to pick up, but I expect a $400 initial price tag at the very least.Rockman999
Also Nintendo isn't taking a big loss, if you buy one game they make profit for that Wii U system, so it's a minuscule loss. Sony have and are willing to take a bigger hit per console.
PS4 R&D was cheap enough that Sony already stated they will be able to be competitive.
More like remove $200 for the Wii U gamepad and you have a $100 console. The Gamepad isn't $200 the Wii U premium is still $50 cheaper then the 4GB Xbox 360 bundled with Kinect that is $399 new.No chance at that low, but I think $399 for a basic SKU with a 120GB HDD and then a $499 premium with 500gb HDD and 1 yr PS+ membership could be a possibility.APiranhaAteMyVaThis sounds pretty plausible actually...

Oh god, shut up!
Â
Those Next Xbox specs come from that SuperDae guy and he said it himself; those are almost one year old dev kit specs!
Â
If you ask me, I will take a person who had dev kits words over yours (any day).
Granted, Vita has a rather nasty hidden fee in the memory sticks.1PMrFister

Something tells me the PS Eye 2.0 and DS4 will be sold at a premium.Â
Question? Whats the price of release Wii U in US? It was $480 in australia :SXalonR$300 for Basic $350 for Deluxe; The Deluxe is still $50 cheaper then 4GB 360 W/Kinect.

Judging from these prices as a student if its around that price I'd probably get it off ebay
I'm expecting $600 or $500 at a loss.

Why? There is no cell, and blu-ray is now an inexpensive tech.Â
It's got a damn tablet CPU. Which is smart on Sony's part for this application. GPU sounds solid, but it's not like Sony is paying retail.Â
The reason I don't see $299 as reasonable, is because even if Sony somehow managed to keep the manufacturing costs under $300 (which is sort of possible IMO) - they would want to take advantage of that for a change and - you know - actually make a profit on each system sold. I don't see any way this console should actually COST over $500/unit to manufacture. It will probably cost around $400-ish, so maybe they take a slight unit loss and launch it at $399 (and it's possible it could be profitable even at $399). That is my totaly uneducated guess. :)
I would call this crazy, but then I remember that Sony somehow put 8 gigs of GDDR5 RAM in there.
I did not believe that was possible.Â
And I don't think this price point is possible.
Is Sony going to surprise me again? I hope so.Â

Yeah I don't have much understanding of the hardware or pricing. My guess is just based on two things:[QUOTE="2Chalupas"]

Totally unrelated but that gif is hilarious! With those specs, there is no f***ing way.nintendoboy16Bro don't use the Wii U's crappy specs as a basis for what next gen consoles are going to cost.
The Wii U is a $100 console with a $200 controller.
400$ for the gimped sku, 500$ for the premium one. Quote me on that.
It's gonna hit the sweet mass market price point of 299.99$ in a couple of years from now.

it looks like it has two cpu's, from what one of the websites I was reading recently, the OS processor is arm, but then it has an 8 core x86 processor for games. Please Log In to post.
