PlayStation 4: "$299 is the magic price point"

Base model will be $350 or $400 IMO. I would love the high model to be $400...but it won't be.

The magic price point that would (immediatelly) tank Sony more like...

The PS4 is using a GPU based from the 7970m so that is not cheap.

Also the design for it to be an APU makes it even more expensive.

Add in the 8gb of GDDR5 and you should expect a price point of near 500USD.

The console also includes some accessories like the playstation eye so my guess is that manufacturing costs will be around 650USD.

No way.  $400, or more.  I understand the PS4 didn't cost much in the way of R&D and there is no new tech, but still.

You're dreaming if you think $300 will be the launch price.

If Sony can somehow manage that then it will fly off the shelves this holiday, but I HIGHLY doubt it.  Even at $400 it would be a steal.
