I don't care what GS stupid opinion is, they have been underrating PS3 games so much lately that I only take their reviews with a grain of salt.

I enjoyed the beta and will be picking this up later. And it's not a rip off of Smash Bros, on the surface it looks the same but gameplay wise it's very different.

This is a bad review, I encourage everyone to check out the IGN review instead, it's far more professional than this.

It wasn't a bad review. They barely compared it to SSB. In fact they only brought it up in regarding to All Stars apparent split personality, where apparently it isn't as accessible as something like SSB, but at the same time the more involved fighting mechanics fall flat of better serious fighters.

This is the score it deserved. I've been saying all along it would be a 6.5 or 7 and that's based off my experience with the beta.

It was getting hyped, but I feel alot of that had to do with the PS3 lacking exclusives this year, which has really caused cows to go even MORE crazy than usual. :P

Steep learning curve? That's just silly. The game is easy to pick up and play, the moves aren't hard to learn. The complex ones may require more work, but that's the point of a game that tries to merge brawler with fighter. I can understand the generic presentation complaint, but not enough to warrant a 6.5 As for the fluidity, I guess that's personal.

Regardless, I enjoyed the beta a whole lot, and I'm loving the game.

The Good

• Seeing your favorite Sony characters punch each other in the face
• Humorous, well-designed levels that mash up franchises
• Four-player battles with friends are fun
• Cross play support for on-the-go fighting on the Vita.

The Bad

• Complex battle system makes for a steep learning curve
• Lacks the fluid feel of a great fighting game
• Horrible, pixelated menu screens
• Some stills and a bit of voice-over do not make for a compelling character narrative.

If I didn't like the game I wouldn't be buying it today. And I have played plenty of great games this year: Black Ops 2, Journey, Resident Evil 6, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Dishonored, and more!

Well there are obviously plenty of good exclusives from previous years but you can't deny that aside from Journey this has been a terrible year for PS3. Probably the worst its ever had.

I have to say, pretty funny how the year turned out for PS3.
