It was getting hyped, but I feel alot of that had to do with the PS3 lacking exclusives this year, which has really caused cows to go even MORE crazy than usual. :P

The Good

• Seeing your favorite Sony characters punch each other in the face
• Humorous, well-designed levels that mash up franchises
• Four-player battles with friends are fun
• Cross play support for on-the-go fighting on the Vita.

The Bad

• Complex battle system makes for a steep learning curve
• Lacks the fluid feel of a great fighting game
• Horrible, pixelated menu screens
• Some stills and a bit of voice-over do not make for a compelling character narrative.

i told you guys gs are some major nelson **** suckers. they prolly got their free 10th anniversary xbox plugged in while reviewing this great game. in every sony game hype thread u should vote in what gs is going to score it not what we know how great the game will be. everyone knows sony games are the best but these ***** ******* that "works" here on gs are some sony hataz. and for some reason they sober up during the goty awards and finally see how great sony games are and give a sony game goty. who gives a **** , they will give a sony game goty this year

Copying the design of a major franchise without being able to capture its magic is fail.

Not having enough of your own first party characters and having to pick oddball third party characters is fail.

Making a deep combat system that is worthless by having it interupted by gimmicky and cheap super moves is fail.

If this game had Johnny Cage in it it wouldn't have flopped.

No seriously, has this guy ever played a fighting game before? There's nothing complex about the battle system, you can jump in with minimal knowledge and be able to play it. He wants a complex battle system, try MK or Blazblue or something.game_masta14

The sad part is that Wonderbook is the best retail game on PS3 this year going by GS, (Well that and Twisted Metal..) and people bashed that Sesame Street 2.0 casual fest which ended up doing better than a core exclusive. :lol:

Journey is a great game, but seriously despite the weak year for exclusives, the 360 wrecked PS3 this year on GS beyond just AAAE. (Halo 4 and Trials Evolution vs. Journey.. Really?)

At least Sony takes chances with new IP's constantly. I give them respect for that. Then again I rarely post in score threads since I don't follow reviews. Microsoft and Nintendo rarely risk new IP's so, they have quite a low risk of "flopping" games.

I admit I am a bit disappointed with the review, I feel like GS didn't really give this game a chance. But it's nothing to get upset about, it's not going to effect my opinion on it, I'm still buying it today.

Plus I trust IGN over GS.

I think IGN actually did a really good review of it. It's informative and critical when it needs to be. The gamespot reviewer sounded pretty upset about the supposed difficulty the whole time.

Shame really since a Sony fighting game with first party chracters is a good idea.

Funny, I thought the reviewers were gonna ground the game because it's too chaotic and simple, but they are grounding it because it's too complex and not accessible !!!

I like IGN, I find their reviews to be more passionate and honest. I also like Giant Bomb, Eurogamer is ok and so is Game Trailers but I find some of their staff to be a bit questionable on some things (like Geoff Keighly or whatever his name is, I like him but some of his reviews seem like they had some ad pressure applied to them).

I like some things about GS and I like most of the staff here, like Kevin Vanord and even Tom MchShea. Even if I disagree with some of their reviews (RE6) I still like their reviews and personality. But overall I just don't really put much into GS reviews anymore, I feel they are a bit biased.
