I didnt like the 3DS thing either, but at least a ton of people already had those chargers. This is just silly.

No AC adaptor is not really an issue for this type of device. They include a USB cable and that will power through your TV USB out like the NES/SNES classics.

so you connect both an HDMI and usb to your TV?
@KBFloYd: Dude an AC adapter is totally unnecessary for this device...why would they include it?
Because it would cost them like an extra 12 cents, and literally every device should come with a basic power adapter?
Knew it would happen some day. Nintendo have been selling their NES and SNES Classics so fast gamers begged in the streets to get their mitts on them. Only natural Sony would get in on the act.

Yeah you can do. If your TV has a USB port (which that all do now) it can take power through that.
@Litchie: not through this. Nintendo wasn't even nearly the first to introduce a classic console. They stole their idea from atari and sega. As usual, Nintendo getting credit for someone elses graft.
@KBFloYd: You can power it straight through a USB port. It takes very little juice. AC is entirely not needed.
@drrollinstein: You don't need an AC to power it...
You're arguing against an ac adapter. Which will likely show up separately for 20 bucks.
right thats what i meant. lol i put a 1.

so if i decide to use an hdmi cord then i need the adapter?
and if i connect through USB then i get picture sound and audio with just USB?
or do i need both connected at the same time?
@drrollinstein: Dude I don't think you understand. The extra cost is totally a waste. You can power the thing through a standard USB port. Why would you need an AC?
@drrollinstein: You don't need an AC to power it...

These thing power though the USB not an old style barrel plug that you used to get. I still have a box full of old AC adaptors with different size barrel plugs and voltages.
You don't need an AC adaptor.
@KBFloYd: Maybe for the rare case of somebody not having access to a USB? Who cares dude. 99.9% of people who buy this thing are gonna have at least one spare USB port.
right thats what i meant. lol i put a 1.

You need to connect both. The USB is just for power.
@reduc_ab_: Why would you not include an adapter for your electronic device? My tv only has one USB port, so i could easily not have the space for it. The extra cost for an AC adapter is basically nonexistent, especially since they're charging 100 bucks for what is basically an emulator. They could literally include a tiny square block you plug the USB into. Its just an unnecessary difficulty.

oh i see so they didnt include it to save money then?
which was what rollenstein and i were talking about.
cheap ass sony charging 100 fucking dollars and still saving a buck on an adapter!
@boycie: I'm trying to explain the whole USB power concept to them. Not sure why they're not grasping it...

But if they save $1 on each one and they sell 10 million that errr umm er $10 million they save!
Also they are saving on a shit load of unnecessary plastic that will end up in land fills.
@reduc_ab_: Amazingly, we fully understand how USB's work and that the thing is powered by one. We dont get how sony could genuinely charge 100 bucks and not include a tiny adapter to plug the USB into so you could use a normal plug.

true. got to make that profit!
now explain it to the playstationfangirl.

Okay... What if you're surge protector doesn't have space for another plug? Will you buy another one for that or like most people will you just have one of those USB plug adaptor to swap about with your phone and dozens of other devices that use them.
@Litchie: not through this. Nintendo wasn't even nearly the first to introduce a classic console. They stole their idea from atari and sega. As usual, Nintendo getting credit for someone elses graft.
Yeah ok, but I highly doubt that Sony would do this if Nintendo didn't do this very recently and with great success. Don't get me wrong, it's smart of Sony to do so, but it's getting really funny seeing Sony ape Nintendo all the time.
@KBFloYd: But I never argued with you about that point so...ugh. It's like you try so hard to make everything a fight. I was just clarifying that the thing can be powered using a USB port, which I didn't think you knew. Leave me alone.

reduc. what happened? you were always up for a fight.
you going soft on us?
LOL, ePSXe.
this brings up the question will this emulator have GTE accuracy?
anyone have any ps1 classics on PSN and knows?
here is a video of how ps1 games normally run
and this is with GTE accuracy
