Playstation Magazine gave Destiny a perfect score

Guess we know who got paid obviously from a playstation magazine I guess someone was trying to boost the overall Destiny score.

Found it out while reading the article and I can't seem to find the full review that gave it the perfect score. Its my understanding it was the only review that gave it such a score. Tried to check metacritic but it didn't have a link to the review.

Why am I not surprise so I guess that review ignore everything wrong about Destiny like the crappy loot system and shit story. Top of that the classes aren't much different from each other.

I honestly would like to see what they had to say but is was anyone surprise playstation magazine giving a 10/10. Wasn't Destiny heavily marketed as best on PS4.

Reviews are still opinions dude....

A reviewer could say something like he felt the game was very enjoyable which would be an opinion. However, its their job a least the ones writing for well known review sites to tell us the facts about the game.

I'm sure there are those that are astonished that peoples opinions vary.

Isn't there such thing as objective reviews since the writer stated it was a poor excuse for an objective review. I'm sure there are hard facts about games that's not debatable.

Certain parts of a game can be objective like if the game is broken, I guess.

Destiny is not broken....some ppl just thought it was going to be more than what it is. Whether or not that is due to the hype created by advertising or not is not the point.

The fact that some ppl are having a blast with the game proves that opinions vary.

Don't forget Destiny is repetitive and a grindfest which is clearly objective not an opinion

Some ppl find MMO grindfest fun. I, find the grindfest in Destiny fun...b/c I like the FPS mechanics of the game...so I don't mind the grindfest.

Just b/c YOU don't like a type of grindfest (given that you've played it) in Destiny fun...does not mean everyone is the same.

All this does is prove that Sony is treating this as a first party game. Complete with purchased review from the official magazine. They would have given it a even higher score if they could get away with it. I'm surprised they didn't rate it a 15 out of 10 and sing praises like it is the greatest thing in the history of mankind.

Their review on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition: "Could have done with actual new content. Otherwise, a cheaper, shinier version of a criminally under-sold gem. [March 2014, p77] 8.5/10

Their review on TLOU: Remastered: "For the most part, the mind-blowing experience you remember with true new-gen visuals. No PS4 library is complete without this. [October 2014, p70]" 10/10

Also if you notice they give a 100 on near anything that is a PS exclusive. Big example is Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

They also gave a 90 to infamous: First Light. So did PlayStation Universe. Average metascore is 72.

Tomb Raider was a multiplatform game. TLOU was not. The purpose of TLOU remaster was to allow the ppl who jumped ship from the 360 to the PS4 to play the game....and since it included the DLC....and was cheaper than buying all that stuff on PS3 at Gamestop....I think a good score is valid considering the game is great.

TR might be a good game...but it wasn't a game that warranted any type of rerelease....TLOU had a purpose.

I'm not saying they're not biased....10/10 is too high....I would give it a 9/10, but we shouldn't act as if xbox type reviews don't happen.

Besides....I think it's fair considering Gamestop and other places are giving Destiny unreasonablely low scores due to it not living up to the ridiculous amount of hype. Just b/c the game isn't going to make you shit your pants like we were lead to believe doesn't mean it's not a decent game....8/10....sure....lower than a bird dating simulator....thats a fucking joke.

Well.. Sony itself has stated that Destiny has helped them sell lots of PS4s, and Sony itself has stated that it is the best selling game on the PS4.

So it does not surprise me that they would give this game a 10, if only to drive software and console sales further up.

Even as somebody who enjoys the game quite a bit, a perfect score is ridiculous. It's in the 7.5 range, maybe 8. Not a bad game at all, but not close to deserving of a 5/5 or 10/10.

The entire review is an opinion. Graphics, gameplay etc.

If you don't like the reviews a place does, then don't go there. Don't give their site the hits or views that all sites need. If the views suddenly drop off they will change dramatically to stop closing down.

With the advertising deal Sony had and how heavily they did advertise for the game like it was exclusive, of course they give a glowing review somewhere.

I don't think they got paid, I think they just have bad taste.

The perfect score for the perfect game.

Except for the game being grindy and repetitive is not a opinion. Now you can say you don't mind it being that way other than that there no debating it. If I were to say Skyrim has low res texture or contains bugs that would objective because its a fact same with COD 4 being a linear game. Saying that there not would be clearly false information.

When even the higher rated reviews on metacritic say "even with its flaws", "although it's a loot and grind shooter", "this game isn't sure what it wants to be", and "while some may feel it's repetitive" and the game gets 95 or lower in those reviewers opinions they all have one thing in common there are flaws in the game therefore not a perfect game, and when I played it imo, no where near a perfect game.

ALTHOUGH I don't want to see any cows crying fowl when an official xbox site or OXM gives Sunset Overdrive a perfect score cause I don't see that game being perfect either ;)

Sure it is. One is "grindy" to you may be enjoyable to someone else. There is no scientific scale for repetitive. Reviews ARE opinions. Sure you should attempt to be professional...ie point out some problems that might not bother you....but at the end of the day there is reviewer bias for a reason. And if you think you are reading subjective reviews then you're wrong.

It's not like any publication, or website with the words Sony, Playstation, or Dualshock in the title are going to actually say something bad about a PS game. I thought they were going to stop publishing PS magazine?
