I was just interested.

i never hated the PS3. but i did think Sony was very arrogant at launch.clone01Agreed. Thats why they are lacking in games and are now starting to get that fixed. When the PS3 launched at $600, that ment low sales, which mean low sales of its games. Which ment the developers weren't making much, so they either took their exclusive to the 360 instead, or made that exclusive into a multiplat. And I don't blame the developers for this either, I blame sony. I am just glade sony got their head out their ass and dropped the price. So now the system is saling better and the developers are returning (of course some never left (think MGS4)).
i still disagree with alot of sonys decisions regarding the machine to be honest. imho, if they focused on games, i think they could have made a crackin machine that would not only shame every other console from day one, but also be very worthy of the origonal 600 asking price.
unfortunately it just feels like a machine that had alot of interference from sonys other divisons and, as a games console, has some nasty problems as a result.
so in that regard im furstrated (hate is such a strong word :P). it was a missed opportunity imho. so much investment and its been for naught from a games perspective.
still, i payed 360 euro for my 60GB model last year. it was 600 euro before sony were bringing in the 40GB model. definately a nice deal imho.
No hatred... disappointment.
Sony were definitley very up themselves when they launched the console, some people obviously still hold that against them.
Far too arrogant for their own good.

i think things are going to look up for the PS3 starting spring of this year, though. Sony has definitely learned from their mistakes this gen.
I wouldn't say that I hated the PS3, but I definitely never saw myself getting one over a 360. Ironically, I sold my 360 a couple of weeks ago and bought a PS3 60 GB. And I'm glad I did. For me, it's the better system now and going down the road. It has all the games I want to play that are also on the 360, and down the road the games I want to play will be cross platform. I'm more interested in exclusives like LittleBigPlanet and FFXIII rather than GoW2 (a 6 hour tech demo with a good deathmatch, in my opinion).
From an investment standpoint, the PS3 has built-in wi-fi, free online play, and a Blu-Ray disc drive. It's hard to fault it nowadays. A year ago, that was different, and I think a year from now it'll be even more apparent that the PS3 is a better choice all things considered.
I have all 3 systems, and of them all, the Wii is the only purchase I regret so far.
And the fact that Ken Kutaragi was fired made me happy. Good things are happening at Sony, albiet a little slow though.
There's more disappointment than hate and I assume people hate being disappointed this much with the PS3.
hate is such a strong word
i hve a wii and 360 i dont have a ps3 as i prefer the games on the other 2 consoles...and dislilke the controller.
there is promise in the ps3 may pick one up when MGS4 comes

Only people who hate it are people who cannot afford it,
that seems to be the biggest reason to hate a console, well, there are 2 reasons:
1. You hate the machine because it breaks (that's why some people hate the 360)
2. You hate the machine because it's out of your price range
So, then they will make up something stupid, like "omgz0r, zecutivez is arrigentz",
which is odd, since realistically, microsoft released a machine they knew had
a massive failure rate, because they assumed no one would care,
that's pretty arrogant, sony felt so matter what the name would sell the machine,
also arrogant...realistically, nintendo are the only ones who weren't super arrogant
going into this gen.
So...you know...it's all silly business. People will never admit to hating something
because of the 2 reasons I specified, since there are more inventive reasonings,
I personally don't hate any system, I had serious troubles with the 360
as far as breaking, but, truth be told, if they got the failure rate below
1%, I'd buy another 360 in a second, I was planning on having all 3 this gen,
had gamecube, xbox and ps2 last gen, all for diff games, have a wii
and a ps3 and a gaming pc this gen, had a 360, but it broke as I mentioned,
multiple times, so, I sold the last one M$ sent me back.
You should rethink why someone would hate a console, because those reasons aren't very valid.Only people who hate it are people who cannot afford it,

Yeah, not valid at all, no one "hates" a console because they can't afford it, or they've had them break on them, no one, you are right, realistically, everyone hates a console because a pink elephant escaped from it and beat up their sister.

No one hates a console because they can't afford it, that logic fails. If a console breaks it breaks, I went through 3 Playstations and 2 Playstation 2s because of hardware failures. It made me resent Sony, but I didn't hate the console. Same with Microsoft and the Xbox 360, I hate Microsoft, but I love the Xbox 360 because of all the good times I've had with it.
So no, neither reason is a valid enough to hate a console.

Many people post ranting tyraids about a console they've never owned/touched/etc, and, based on very basic human behavior, it is essentially attached to a sub-consious/consious beleive that what they cannot own must be horrible.
Also, if you actually read my post, I mentioned that I had my 360s break, and didn't hate them, because 1 person has it happen and doesn't hate the machine, doesn't make it a universal truth.
But yeah, thank you for your opinions, I cherish them.

Yes of course, your theories on the reasons behind someone hating a console are more valid...or...did you post any?

This is is what you posted:"if you cant afford a ps3 you hate it"
where in this thread did anyone say they couldnt afford the ps3 ?? Only one poster said they hated the ps3 in this thread. As many people have said they dont hate the ps3 there just dissapointed or underwhelmed so you making up this nonsense about not being able to afford it is a stale and old argument no one uses anymore because the ps3 has dropped in price and is now affordable to the masses.

People constantly post that it's "too expensive",
and the 30 who voted "hate" didn't explain themselves,
so, instead of assuming people are stupid, I went with the age old psychological reason, since there are 2 sides to most thoughts, there are those who have a "grass is greener" complex, and there are those who will "hate" something they can't own at the current moment.
Never hated the PS3 only its fanboysblue_hazy_basic
Agreed, especially the ones that quit GS because of R&C
If you hate a system your a fanboy...

Pretty sure I implied it as universal *reads entire post* yup, universal, towards any of the systems,
re-read, then come back with a retort.
