@Ant_17: SNES was my first gaming console and Nintendo's purchase when my parents got it for me on my birthday so SNES is my all times favorite system with a lot of awesome games.
Mine too.
I just had 1 game - Sunset Riders and that kept me busy for 4 years i think.
I´m gonna get a lot of flak for saying this but my favorite is the Wii simply because ----> I can play all the previous Nintendo games and all the titles created for it.
Of course, now I´m in the "retro fashion" I just gotta have one of each to be complete.
I didn't own the SNES or the N64. They are great consoles that I've played a bunch but I wouldn't select either of them. Possibly because I haven't owned them, or they just didn't click as well with me, I don't know.
I'm inclined to say Wii U. I've really had a lot of fun with the console whether it's solo or together in a group. Still missing some great games (Zelda) but it's had amazing ones that I've really enjoyed.
@GameSpot: Voted: SNES and everyone knows it's the damn best Nintendo system on Gods green Earth.
Couldn't have said it better.Cheers to you Sir.
Nostalgia boner/10
I used to stand under that opening and do spin kicks until everyone was dead. Best way to cheese Bolo when he comes out.
Mine is Wii U, Wii is close with its BC, but i enjoy my Wii U BC and new content. Its weird but their systems just keep getting better. Their handhelds are same way, 3DS is now my favorite.
I had to vote N64. There were just so many good games and great memories I have with that system. My last big "wow" moment as a gamer was seeing Mario 64 for the first time on a demo unit at a Blockbuster video store. I couldn't believe my eyes. And add in other amazing games like Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64, Zelda OoT and the best wrestling games to this day (No Mercy, WM2000,Revenge) I don't know how you couldn't love that system.
I own a SNES to this day, and while I agree its a great console, I would put it 4th behind the NES, N64 and Gamecube. I'm pretty sure me being a huge Sega fanboy has something to do with my feelings towards the SNES, but I think it's Nintendos 4th best console imo.
Edit: Who the hell is voting for the Wii U?!?!?!?!?!
I like all Nintendo consoles about the same, except the Wii U, which is garbage. The N64 blew me away the most though with games like Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Rogue Squadron, Shadows of the Empire, Super Smash Bros., No Mercy, etc.
More votes for the Wii U than the original NES? LMAO, obviously a lot of these suppose Nintendo fans on here weren't even alive when the NES was released. I swear if the NES loses to both the Wii and Wii U then this forum loses all credibility.
Anyways, I personally voted for the SNES, but the NES is not that far behind it. Those two consoles will still be fun 50 yrs from now.

No you can't. There are tons of NES, SNES and N64 games that still haven't been released on the Nintendo shop.

Most of this planet is blue....................................can I visit yours?
if we include BC then the wiiu. it works with most nintendo consoles (gamecube is sadly missing though).
if its just the games for that console then its very close between the snes, gamecube and wii for me. wii edges it out slightly and the consoles launch was a big event (seriously what happened this gen? the wiiu launched and meh. the PS4 and X1 launched and more meh. very little hype.).
I have fond memories of my NES and SNES. I probably had the most fun with my N64 with all the multiplayer action, and the 3D at that time blew my mind. I got a ton of enjoyment out of my Gamecube.
But, I have to say, I thought the main franchise installments on the Wii were the best period. When Wii controls were done right, I thought they were just amazing. And I didn't mind a little waggle...
The Wii U has yet to impress me.
My favorite console is currently the WiiU, because I can play games from every nintendo platform on it.
@emgesp: Yes you can, wanna bet ?
Only way I can think of is if you hack the console, but I'm willing to bet it isn't that easy to do.
It's actually ridiculously easy. But if we're going to go this route, then the PC is the best Nintendo console.

The PC loses if you aren't using a CRT monitor for the older 8 - 16 bit games where lag can really screw up games that require fast reflexes.. Trying to beat Mike Tyson in Tyson's Punch Out on a modern LCD is almost impossible, but I can destroy him with ease on a CRT.
Also, I'm willing to bet hacking a Wii is not as easy as you make it seem.

lol ok. I was just saying the PC would take it as you can emulate all Nintendo console and handheld games easily.
That said, I have no clue what you're talking about. I play 8 - 16 bit games on a regular basis. I beat Mike Tysons Punch Out on a regular basis, it's one of my favorite NES titles.
And FINALLY, all I was really trying to say is that factoring in emulation is kind of dumb in a topic like this. I'm pretty sure the point of this is to judge the consoles on their libraries, not what they can be manipulated to do.

You know I'm not allowed to post details here man, but it's stupid simple.
Google if you really want to know.

I'd love to see you beat Mike Tyson via emulation using an LCD screen. I'd give you mad props for such an accomplishment.
I voted N64 so everyone could tell me I am 10 years old as I didn't vote for SNES.
At least you didn't vote for the Wii U. So, its all good.
Thank you. Actually it's all a bit complicated. I know SNES had better games but I actually prefer the Gamecube because it had a really nice, odd shape. It looked kind of futuristic so yeah, it's all a bit confusing. I need a little lie down now.
