Popular gaming series that you have never really played?

What are some popular gaming series' which you have never really played...? and by played I mean actually attempted to play though- not like a few minutes at a friend's house or at a gaming kiosk.

For me:

Final Fantasy (I played IX for about an hour and loved it... played X for about the same and didn't like it that much... I just started XII and am excited to see if the series is as good as people say)

Halo (I only played the first briefly and it was pretty cool - I'm going to buy the third in a couple weeks)

Metal Gear Solid (Once I get a PS3 I plan on buying the fourth - once it goes down in price)...

in my defense, I never owned an orignal PlayStation, nor an original Xbox... I had a Saturn instead of the PSX...

The Persona series. I keep meaning to pick them up, damn :P

Also, God of War I/II.

The GTA series.

Fallout before 3, Baldur's Gate, and Disgaea.

Devil May Cry, I played the 4th one and didn't see what's so great about it, I missed 1-3 of course.

Fallout and Baldur's Gate.

I found the gameplay in Fallout to be atrocious, and the storyline so far seemed mediocre, so I simply stopped playing.

As for Baldur's Gate it was the complete opposite. Very fun to play, engrossing world and story, etc. I must have logged at least 20 hours in the game, when a bug made the game unrecoverable. I was pissed, and I didn't want to have to start all over again, so I moved on to other games.

Garbage and quite possibly the most overrated, overplayed game of all time. It's nothing innovative, though every casual will be ready to tell you how amazing its concept is, having never played or heard of an MMO nor an RPGand are probably still ignorant to those terms. It's not even an RPG. It's a mindless leveling exerciser with boring and monotonous "questing" that requires you put hours upon hours into repetative mindless gameplay. I hate that game and all of its popularity.

Feels weird seeing how a lot of people didn't play Final Fantasy yet, I feel like I've accomplished a lot then on my quest :P

This is going to be fairly easy for me since I've never owned a PlayStation of any generation.

The most noticable ones:

Final Fantasy (I'm currently playing FF3 for the DS)
Metal Gear (the moment I get a PS3, I'm getting the compilation of the first 3 games and MGS4)
Devil May Cry (I don't want to play DMC4 until I play the first ones)

I know I'm not the authority on who is a gamer and who isn't..... but anyone who hasn't played a Mario game, imho, is not a gamer. Maybe that makes me a gaming snob, or something, I dunno.... but I don't care, it's just how I feel.

WHAT??? Of course they are, Halo has been around for 8 years. Now Mario on the other hand is much more important to gaming history, and has been around for over 25 years... to not have played a Mario game is much more substantial, than to not have played Halo. I'm not dissing Halo by any means... I love the franchise, but it's no MARIO!
