With the PC version of Bad Company 2, the beta looked significantly worse than the full version. They compressed some things and removed others to reduce the download size.

Picking ultra has MSAA below. So looks like neither.

Perhaps there's some nuance that's yet to appear to me, and I suppose for the sake of variety it's good to have a more narrow, infantry-focused map in the mix, but that's not what I come to Battlefield for.

Prone, suppression, bipod = nice. The bipod is kind of finicky though. It's context-sensitive so sometimes the game won't do what you want it to. And it seemingly only works on flat surfaces. Being unable to pull out the legs because you're lying on an incline or there's a wee bit of rubble under you seems like a weird restriction. Perhaps there's some balance concern that forces this to be a thing, I don't know.

Is the beta just the same thing the alpha was?

Hopefully the final product/singleplayer looks better, because every screenshot so far seems pretty meh to me.

Omg cant wait. My PC will be getting some love come Thursday. But I dont think im going to be able to marathon it all day. Gears 3 is soooo tempting.

I'm getting 60-70fps with ultra settings with a single HD 6970. *dancing banana*

Pretty sure the mutliplayer won't look much better at release. I'm playing the game on ultra with my i5 2500k/570 and it looks great, but nothing like any of the single player trailers, again I suspect that level of graphics fidelity will exist only in the single player.

Edit: Despite the mutliplayer graphics not meeting some peoples expectation, I mean they are still the BEST multiplayer graphics we currently have.

Can someone explain to me how i get into the game without joining a server? I just want to see the main screen with options/join game, etc... The problem is I have a low end computer and i want to try lowest settings first, but i can't do that when i can't even get into the game.

I have Medal Of Honor LE for PC got it day one, but no email from EA with my BETA key. Its ok i played Alpha Beta so im not in a hurry. Red Orchestra 2 for me.

Due to the my performance on the beta, I'm considering not upgrading to an i5 like originally planned. I think I'm just going to get a new PSU, case, and a second 560 ti to SLi. According to DICE if you have an okay Quad core the game is really GPU dependent. It shows.

According to TotalBiscuits WTF is BF3 video, Ultra settings aren't really available even though you can select them, so what you are seeing is actually high.

This would explain the better than expected performance some people are getting.

Folks, Gears of war 3 on 360 graphicly looks 100x better than those screens you guys post. Im really really disappointed of bf3 , now that ive seen those screens. Gow3 is destroying that game...CptOliver
