[QUOTE="themajormayor"][QUOTE="PopeReal"] Every console is a toy, they play video games. Does that bother your gamer ego?locopatho

Yeah but PS3 is an adult toy for me

Proof that cows actually fvck their PS3s.... A lot of things are finally starting to make sense... including their love of the word "butthurt" :?

I guess we know what they really use the Move for now....

[QUOTE="6matt6"][QUOTE="themajormayor"][QUOTE="6matt6"] You know someone is a child when they go around bragging about their 'adult' toys. Seriously if thats your mentality about buying entertainment products your house must be filled with sex toys. Can't get more adult than that.

Don't need no sex toys anymore  not since 2006

Let me be the first to tell you. Bragging about not needing sex toys doesn't sound nearly as cool as you thought it did.

Yes it did

i'm done with chatting....nothing but trash talk, people chewing food on the mic, people coughing and sniffing, people playing music in their room, hearing an echo of your own voice because the guy has his tv loud....

i'm done with it....

and if you have friends then buy the 3rd party mic...all the best mic on 360/ps3 is 3rd party anyway...

and about the the wiiu pro pad not having a mic input....umm. the wiiupad is the same thing why even buy the pro controller.

Since the console is going to be a more online oriented. It's surprising/weird that mics aren't included from the get go.

Thats no excuse. How about Nintendo have standard voice chat and people who don't want it can ignore it. It shouldn't be the other way around where its overly-difficult / impossible for people who do want it.

This is a console coming out in 2012  and they are trying to capture the CoD market with crap like this? No chance.

Because they promise a lot and deliver little.

Honestly, I'd like a good reason as to why this "next gen" console is releasing without standard voice chat. That and the fact they're making idiotic decisions like not inlcuding a mic port on the pro controller.

Even allowing the built in mic in the gamepad would be a start (not ideal) but nope, Nintendo says no. Honestly, I don't see why anyone would try and defend this.

If you keep repeating to yourself over and over again that it is a children's console maybe someday you will be comfortable about playing video games on your own console. You must have some sort of fear over what people think about you playing games. Consoles are consoles, they are all designed to play video games. Enjoy the games and don't be bothered by what anyone thinks. If you feel the need to point out again and again that a certain one is childish while your console of choice is for grown ups, you are missing the point.

Even if they give you "a lot" of what they "promised", you'd spit in their face even then.

Nintendo just plain sucks at making game consoles, so it only makes sense that their online is going to suck ass too. These aren't big, heavy-duty concepts, but Nintendo always finds a way to muck them up.

El_Garbanzo

These sort of posts are just bizarre. Gamers, or at least people who claim to enjoy gaming, bashing consoles for their child like abilities to play video games, while they play games thamselves (or again, at least claim to) on consoles. What makes you so worried about what people think? Do you need to prop up your gaming as grown up for some particular reason? Does your gaming define you as a person? Do you fear that people are judging you as childish because you enjoy gaming as a hobby? Let people think what they want. I do what I enjoy and don't feel the need to justify anything that I do to anyone. If they perceive it as childish, thats ok. I would rather enjoy my life and have fun. I think that is the point of being an adult.

Except there arent.

Nintendo came straight out saying they want to capture the core gamer with the Wii U. You know, those gamers who play online everyday. Online is huge, and voice chat is one of the main pillars of online gaming which Nintendo are screwing up. I honestly just don't understand it. A few years back Nintendo said the gamer doesn't want online, and look how wrong they were. I honestly think they still believe it though, which baffles me.

If that were the case, would the Nintendo fans be broken up like Zerg Broods without their Cerebrates?

I know several Nintendo fans (and I mean actual fans who support stuff, and not the "fans" who senselessly bash their stuff) who criticize them on some aspects (I criticized them for having a bad budget line-up compared to N64 and GameCube)

Trying isn't good enough, and your opinions on what is or isn't important don't matter.

It's a fact that a 2005 console (the 360) came with voice chat, in all games, even across game and party chat, and a free headset with every console.

That's the standard of the 7th gen, free headset and voicechat in and across all games.

The fact that Nintendo's 8th gen console can't/won't match that IS A PROBLEM, whether you think so or not.

And being "irrelevant" is part of the problem as to why "Nintendo Selects" ended up being worse than "Player's Choice".

Besides, you are in no position to be calling someone on being biased, when you have done your fair share of it.

360 has a free mic but not the rest. so I wouldn't call it a standard yet for home consoles. It did become standard on portables psp and ds towards the end.

Or they could be "defending" it because it's not that big of a deal and that there are worse things to call the system out for?

Except is a big deal. Voice chat is one of the main things of online play. Its nice being able to communicaye with 10 different friends at once. You might as well play against bots if there is none

Do people have friends/family? Looking at the comments defending nintendo for the mic issue I think not...

Nevermind the fact that at least some games are going to carry it as well as some Wii U apps.

Huh? I'm a grown man there is no reason I'd have interest in an oriental childrens console. Think BEFORE posting.

I guess that says a lot. You are a "grown man" who plays video games. And you certainly don't want to be judged as childish. You care about what other people think. Maybe some day you will see my point.

I used my first computers in the late 70's, I grew up with it you idiot. Do people stop watching TV and listening to the radio or playing cards when they get older?

Can you be any dumber?

I'm hoping later on, they can allow Bluetooth connection, probably will happen later on, but still, if you have to use Wired ones connected to the controller, that's fine. I still do that with my 360 anyways. The other issue of "certain games" isn't a big deal. In other words, Nintendo's service does allow Voice Chat, but it will just have to be added in games, it likely will be in all MP games, but SP games probably won't. There isn't a cross game chat system as far as I know, so this really is no different than signing into an XBL match and talking to the people in the same game. XBL lets you cross game chat, which is nice, but I don't think it's something that can't be implemented later on. Wii U's OS does have 1 GB reserved out of the 2 GBs of RAM in the system, and PS3 can't get cross game chat because of the RAM issue, I assume Nintendo just didn't implement this feature in yet. It did take time for it to come on the 360, and Nintendo's online focus has shown they are doing things differently like with Miiverse and Nintendo TVii.

You seem to have missed the whole point. I was just wondering why you as a gamer, bash a console for being childish while playing consoles yourself. You seem to really care that people know you are a grown man and don't do childish things. But I suppose grown men just call other people names instead of having a discussion.

One is a console aimed at children what's so complicated about that? I didn't miss anything as you had no point.

Oh how I remember playing my PS2 online without a mic.

Way to be behind by 2 generations Nintendo!!! Oh wait, the original X-Box had voice chat.

Way to be behind by 3 generations Nintendo!

For a company that so easily dominates the handheld market and makes such good handheld systems, their home consoles have been shockingly awful and WAY behind the curve....

All consoles are aimed at children and adults alike. They certainly want everyone interested in playing, it is a business. But at the end of the day, play what you want and enjoy it. I was just wondering why some people feel the need to justify their own gaming as grown up. Games are games.

PS2 had voice chat, too. Not as many players had headsets as on Xbox, but they were quite useable.

We may as well stop trying to quantify how many generations behind Nintendo is, and simply accept that they are cheap bastards and would rather save a buck than meet industry standards.

This isn't the end of the world, but it WILL hurt third-party support in the long run.
