this game is looking good. plus its been getting a lot of positive buzz here lately. i love the superhero debate you guys got going on here. im surprised nobody mentioned the Scarlet Witch. all she did was say "no more mutants" and poof mutants be gone. lol. even tho i must say im not a huge fan of reality altering powers. just using her as an example. and i guess there were still some mutants left so her powers arent absolute.

Each super-hero is overpowered as much as the writer wants.
I still think Goku > most of Heros. That is one hell of a overpowered character. The guy needs to hold back or he destroys planets with a single freaking blow.
The One-Above-All is a very good example that each character can only be the most powerful in is own universe.
Goku, kratos, TOAL are all the most powerfull....in their own universe.
Euroshinobi
This is true.
I still say Iceman > All ^___^
Yer thats why if theres a DC vs Marvel it will be chaos cause like Superman will destroy everthing. Guy flew around the word at reversed time which i reckon is awesome. Goku Vs Superman would be sick :PI Don't know infamous is looking better at this point. I think next to the FPS genre Sandbox games are starting to get boaring and tiresm

Prototype was in development before inFAMOUS. And I think both are in the worth owning territory, atleast according to the comments by Garnett Lee on 1UP, who has the review build.
'boaring and tiresm"
Nice. Haha!
isnt inFamous average 8 ?, Proto's average is 9 but then again only 2 reviews for prototype atm. anyway, i'll bring up the Fallout 3 vs Mass effect arguement.........Mass effect's graphics was beautiful.........yet and still look what rpg got all the awards and which one didnt 8), so far the majority of the reviewers previewers understand that this game could not be done on consoles having all those npc's and crap going on if it looked like GOW inFamous looks slightly better, but actualy check it out.......infamous has about what ? 5 or 4 in game car models ? 5-9 people on the street at once ?
Euroshinobi
You clearly never payed infamous, there are actually streets full of cars, both moving and non, and plenty of people including hostile and civilians.

Owe I am going to own both, but Like I said I never said that THESE games looking boring and tiresm but the genre as a whole is beginning to look that waylook good wont top infamous in my eyes though. Infamous has a great story, voice acting, cutscenes, better graphics. But prototype will have a much better sense of power.

Well, you've already made up your mind and nothing will change it. I'm going in with inFAMOUS experience and an open mind, though. No preconceived notions from this gamer, nuh uh!

That's not very many games. And Just Cause? Did anyone actually play that after the initial 15 minutes?

It'll get AA and won't disappoint, methinks. I trust Garnett Lee's (1UP) experience with the review build, which he praised on this weeks ListenUP podcast.
For those of you who have no idea what I bring up the comparison between Hulk - Ultimate Destruction and Prototype...
Simply take a look at this :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLy8MkMAYSQ&feature=related
Hulk does the following :
1) Grabs helicopters from long-range
2) Does the same elbow cannon move from overhead as Mercer in Prototype
3) Scales buildings vertically
4) Insane durability, strength and speed.
5) He can cause earth tremors doing area effect damage.
6) Etc, Etc, ETC.!
Still, I'm not saying Prototype is a poor game.
What I'm saying is that the gameplay mechanics is a carbon copy of Hulk - Ultimate Destruction, and you won't be getting any other sense of satisfaction aside from destroying things, and I for one, am definitely not the type that enjoys destroying stuff intermittently with no end in sight.
Story looks good, but gameplay looks ridiculously repetitive.
Woah, never noticed that :o. I never played HUD.For those of you who have no idea what I bring up the comparison between Hulk - Ultimate Destruction and Prototype...

how was infamous generic? i've never seen a story like that in a game ever, thought it was pretty cool.[QUOTE="savagetwinkie"][QUOTE="Euroshinobi"]
As far as i'm concerned it did not. this game will be better then inFamous because it caters to gamers like me needs, hardcore action, zombies, gore & an original story, over a platformer with a generic overused story, anyday.
Euroshinobi
Traveling back to the past to stop yourself from doing something or traveling back to the past to make yourself do something is one of the most overused plots in both the film industry the comic book industry & gaming industry alike.
glad i finished infamous before i read this thread...oh wait i didnt...good ****

Yeah, same here, thanks Euroshinobi... for spoiling the story for us guys who haven't played the game yet.How Prototype is like Hulk UD
1. Destruction
/Comparison over.
Hulk UD was the best open world game ever made, i fully trust them to succeed with this one, bring back the freedom that the craptastic Gta IV and InFamous left out. i can sit here and compare and compare how inFamous is just like sly cooper with electricity but i won't......despite him doing everything like the Racoon did on the ps2......that didnt make the game any less fun.
GTA is the same in each installment and yet people buy it up everytime it releases......its the same game with updated graphics and a mediocre story.
Again already has a 9/10.....i do see it getting a score the same or above inFamous.....because people love this kinda game.......inFamous is a platformer no matter how you describe it, its still just a platformer, more about the platforming and less about the action

Goku Vs Superman would be sick :PIceman will kill both Goku and Superman, by freezing every molecule in their bodies and bursting it open......or reducing them to water molecules in the air and leave them like that, without lifting a finger.........There are mutants in x-men alone that could get rid of superman 10x over, there is a superman in the marvel universe (gladiator) and he's not even seen as very powerful, supermans abilities are basic, when compared to Marvels character, the majority espeacialy omega mutants are over powered........Jean could open a black hole, and by by superman, Franklin could make him disapear just because he wanted it superman is not a threat Lol......not a world threat that is......there are mutants who have to stay locked up in facilities because they can't control their world destructive type abilities..........DC fans hold on to superman, he's not powerful at all lol
Superman is a goody too shoes.........Unlike X-men superman won't kill people in the first place, he's too innocent bleh.
im probably going to get this PC but I have a feeling it might dissapoint.[QUOTE="blazinpuertoroc"]

Arn't preconceived notions considered hype? Because if we didnt have them then there wouldnt be hype. seriously we judge games months before they come out and decide on what we see, its how people decide by playing demos watching videos, looking at screens. Look your being a hypocrite he has preconceived notions from what he's seen but don't you have preconceived notions from what you've heard?Man I'm torn between this, inFAMOUS and RFG....The scaling of buildings in this is impressive....jasopanScaling buildings is just as impressive in Infamous I think. It's not just running up the sides like Hulk. But intuitive platforming. Infamous is amazing me :). I'm really looking forward to playing Prototype though.
Man I'm torn between this, inFAMOUS and RFG....The scaling of buildings in this is impressive....jasopan
Yep thats what inFamous lacked......i dont want to climb up a building like im the guy from uncharted......i wanna feel like a hero, not a mere human. platforming and open world super hero game should have never mixed IMO.

And finally a first time super hero game that has some pretty varied missions. I haven't really been like "ohh no, not this mission again"
Wow this has been a summer of open world games hasn't it, anyway i hope Prototype will have more mission variety than inFamous did, you ran into the same mission over in inFamous it reminded me of spiderman 2, i hope this is not the case with prototype, it shouldn't be, i hear they been working on it for years, shouldnt be no excuse for mission detail
As far as i know, there are over 90 events, over 100 web of intrique targets through out the city you have to find to unlock parts about the story, side missions that unlock entire different stories.
Everyone who previewed/reviewed the game is amazed by it, i'm with bioshockownz, i'm pumped.....course i always wanted the game but i had my doubts......after reading a lot of the reviews and previews i no longer have those doubts, i believe when i pick up the controller and play i won't be thinking about any of the small stuff people bring up, not anyone who played it brought up graphics, not one
I'm loving the dark sinister plot he's an anti hero thats a big plus, did anyone get the comic? i'm loving the sound of it also i'm shocked the game hasn't been rated 'Brief nudity' because ive seen some zombie pregnant chicks with their clothes ripped off, and zombie breast showing......i guess zombie breast don't count as nudity
Prototype comic trailer
Wildstorm is tackling the story from a different perspective to avoid giving away much about the game itself, first issue was kinda meh, second issue was filled with awesometastic blood guts and gore
cant post too many screens, they contain nudity lol, third issue is releasing in a few weeks i think, Marvel would have done it better
The comic made me more interested in the back story, i hope its on going, and later turns into a movie !, heroes wearing spandex for the lose.
censored zombie boobage
lol, I love how excessive blood guts and gore are ok, but breasts (even zombie breasts...like that turns on anyone...unless you are a necrophiliac :? ) have gotta be censored :PII_Seraphim_II
i censored the boobies in photoshop because i didnt want to get moderated xD

Yeah I know and your point is? Its not stopping others from bringing up Infamous. But whatever if this game is decent I may rent it. Im more intrested to see how the story will turn out. And like another poster pointed out it looks awfully familiar to Hulk Ultimate Destruction. That was a pretty good game. if Prototype can live up to that then it may be more then decent. I hope they release a demo soon. So, hypothetically speaking, if people are bashing inFamous due to it being exclusive does that mean that PS3 owners are bashing Prototype because it's a multiplatform title? I know i've been waiting for Prototype. Already have it reserved on PC. Looks like a quality title. Then again, i was very dissapointed with inFamous after i played the demo.
Could it be that opinions differ on games? Nah...that can't be it.

Yes. I've noticed that cows have bashed Prototype a lot due to it being multiplat. And if you point it out, then they'll point out that it's on their system, too. I own both systems and have praised inFAMOUS, but they bash Prototype to make inFAMOUS seem superior. Most won't admit both are awesome games and deserve your gaming dollar.
