Unless I am mistaken, most of the PS Vita games revealed will be either be launch titles or be released sometime around March 2012.

This was noted as being the largest launch day library in Playstation history so, that is why there are so many titles and so many different types of games.

Thank you for putting this together, @nitekids2004!

I have a feeling this thread was in response to the 3DS lineup thread.

Which sucks, because the 3DS lineup is much better than this. I see a lot of ports.

Still looks like a good lineup though.

nitekids2004

Here's the thing, PSV isn't even released yet :D which makes the list all the more impressive.

Impressive to you maybe, but not to me. Basically I only want the Disgaea and Persona games on there.

Ahh...! But this is Sony! Sony ALWAYS delivers on their promises.

Zophar87

Way to miss the point. Nintendo was developing 90% of the "upcoming" games list back in the 3DS. Kid Icarus, OoT, Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart, Mario 3DLand, Starfox, etc. Hence, they failed to deliver it at launch/post launch.

Compared to the PSV list where its a combination of many different devs. Am I saying that everything in the list is gonna get released? Nope. But chances are, it won't be as severe as the the 3DS one.

Does it truly matter? Games are games. Who cares who developed them?

/facedesk

You were just implying the PSV games won't be releasing next year (or anytime soon)like the 3DS list back then.

I just said you can't compare the two lists. There have been playable demos for example on majority of these games at TGS.

OMG! Remember the PS3's launch?! SO BOSS!

I've always said that SONY systems are the only systems which I would never consider buying at first day and even first month I always wait for at least 1 year till I buy cuz they usually have no decent games for the first year but so far PSV list is promising and I think the 3 games which \im interested in were confirmed to be a launch title and that why im intrigued in buying it as soon as I can.

Ah, I'm not denying the PSV. I'm sure it'll be a great handheld, but there's no way I'd buy one in it's first year of life.

I'm pretty sure his point is that the game are there but the launch was very bad and continued to be bad for months, it's still bad with only Super Mario 3d land coming out at the worst possible time with so many good games released and the closest game to look forward to is Mario Kart 7. This is mostly because the large part of the library is developed by Nintendo they need time they can't release big games month after month, while the Vita has mostly game from completely different developers.

You clearly weren't around for between E3 2010 and the 3DS launch. In my experience most launch titles for any system consists of mainly shovelware.

Edit for wtf fail?

I don't really see much shovelware in my list (apart from Sumioni lol). But if you can name thegames you think will be shovelware, please do. I'll gladly put an asterix on them.

Remember that huge list of games that the 3DS supposedly had incoming? Yeah....

I don't see why most of the games here won't be released next year.

The problem with the huge list of 3DS games was....Nintendo was developing about 90% of them.

Compared to this list where its a combination of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Party Developers.

Actually, you are wrong, Nintendo only had eleven games in development for the 3DS. The impressive thing was that nearly every single title of note on the 3DS when it was announced was a third party title.

As I remember Nintendo said they did that on purpose cuz they wanted to let 3rd parties take their chance on 3DS before Ninty start releasing its games and they said only Capcom used that chance well (well I thing I did read taht somewhere or it could be me imagining things).

Yeah, but no one was really excited on the 3rd Party 3DS games at launch/post launch.

The only notable 3rd Party games at launch were: Professor Layton and SFIV.

Everyone was aiming for Kid Icarus/Mario 3DLand/Mario Kart/Luigi's Mansion/OoT/SF64/Paper Mario this year.

Oh no. There were the two Resident Evil games. There was Street Fighter. Saints Row and Assassins Creed. Kingdom Hearts 3D. Megaman Legends 3. Metal Gear Solid 3D. The list was massive, remember? So many third party games, it was the reason why people were so excited for it in the first place.

Then of course the games got delayed or outright cancelled. Which, of course, could happen here as well.

Point being, this is just an early indicator of what games we can expect on the Vita. Don't expect all of them to hit the system when they're supposed to, because quite a few will miss their dates.

Agreed, I am pretty much skeptical of anything Capcom announces for the Vita without gameplay footage if it is not a port... I mean they announced DMC waited years without an announcement and canceled... Then announced Resident Evil psp and it has been years...

I am pretty skeptical of the portable Bioshock game as well until I see the game...

  • Zero no Kiseki (edit: also probably not coming west next year edit2: wait no, definitely not coming west next year :>)

The people at XSEED will probably look into importing it. I believe it is scheduled for early 2012. Unless, XSEED have not worked with Falcom on the english translations than there is little chance. Will US and European audiences really miss Legend of Heroes? YS IV: Celceta Sea of Trees has much more of worldwide appeal and that should be theimmediatetitle for XSEED to localize.

(For those unaware, Legend of Heroes is a series known to have a lot of text and it is difficult to translate, thus very delayed localization dates.)

I'm pretty much skeptical about all the "Upcoming Untitled XXX Videogame" (including theHideo Kojima game)that's why I avoided them completely in creating this list. But most of the games in this list were actually playable / showed on TGS. While the other half are ports or multiplats which I'm sure won't take too much dev time and cost to bring to the Vita.

3-5 hour battery life and hundreds of millions of iPhones say otherwise

Basinboy
you ever play games on a iphone? battery life after playing a 3d game --- its 45min to 1 hour and then you can't even use your phone... so what are you bringing this up for? Secondly 3DS has same battery life , just like the psp. Finally PSV list rocks..This is the styles of games the PS3 should of launched with and the reasonable price...if Sony did that they would probably be #1 again this gen. They learned their lesson letting ken kutaragi handle everything.

So what's with the comment about ports? :?

You're not forced to buy them?

mmmwksil

I merely commented on the amount of ports.

It can't be handheld of 2012 with such a port-heavy line up.

What ever makes you sleep at night. My friend, so your telling me it would be better just for the system to have 15 exclusives and no ports what so ever ? Or ports and exclusives sounds better ? I would much rather have them together in case i missed something and would want it on the go.

Yes, make up wild assumptions like me not wanting ports at all on handhelds. Clearly, this is what I meant to say.

Only it isn't, otherwise I would've said so in the first place.

I think they'll bring it eventually, just not next year since they have two more Sora no Kiseki games to localize before getting to Zero.

Okay. I still need to play some of them but, if XSEED do not digitalize PSP titles or bring them to the PS Vita, it will be extremely hard for me to play them in the future (when I buy the PS Vita on launch day).

I wasn't implying anything. I merely expressed my personal opinion that it would take a lot more than a port-heavy line up for the handheld to be considered the best of the year.

Dem RPG's! :o

[QUOTE="nitekids2004"]

arad96

Oh, and this is especially a must buy.

More RPG's will arrive on the PS Vita.

There not to many which know about the Shin Megami Tensei title coming up.Atlus kept it quite when they announced Persona 4: The golden and later when it was shown off in an upcoming game schedule during TGS 2011.

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne (PS2):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jy3ufqp3l10&feature=related

I still need to see more ofShin Megami TenseiNocturnebut,if the PS Vita version is anything like the PS2 version than, it could be a big change from Persona (judging from glimpses of gameplay).

Never ceases to amaze me in the graphics department just like the original PSP did. It's a shame the 3DS doesnt offer similar visual quality.

3-5 hour battery life and hundreds of millions of iPhones say otherwise

Midnightshade29

you ever play games on a iphone? battery life after playing a 3d game --- its 45min to 1 hour and then you can't even use your phone... so what are you bringing this up for? Secondly 3DS has same battery life , just like the psp. Finally PSV list rocks..This is the styles of games the PS3 should of launched with and the reasonable price...if Sony did that they would probably be #1 again this gen. They learned their lesson letting ken kutaragi handle everything.

My only problem with the PS Vita's design is it's size.

It just does not look fun to carry around at all.

Not quite good enough for best handheld, not with that port heavy line-up.

mmmwksil

The only blatant "port" I have seen on the PS Vita is Micheal Jackson The Experience HD. Even than it is difficult for one to blame on Ubisoft for brining that iconic name to a video game and making a port on the PS Vita.

The rest of the PS Vita titles do not seem like out of place ports. They all seem to fit the device in some way. The new IP's will all test the PS Vita of course, they will also be pretty expiremental.

Easy miss for me they are going in the same direction as the first PSP putting console games onto a handheld.xxmatt125xx

Except not very many companies where "putting console games" on the PSP. That was the issue! Not enough games.

Monster Hunter was a PS2 console title ported to the PSP and it sold very well world wide, especially in Japan. So, it is not always a bad thing to "port" if it translates well.

PSP had a large library JRPG's.Monster Hunter Portable was a great hunting/RPG game that really cemented the PSP legacy.

The great RPG's on the PSP are a large reason that people are considering purchasing the PS Vita.

3DS library looks much better so far.

Only game on the PS Vita to interest me so far is Dragon's Crown

SW__Troll

That is interesting. Do you (or anyone else) remember what the PS Vita launch line-up was like before TGS (i.e. during E3)? The reason I ask is because,Dragons Crown was basically the one of the few Japanese titles before TGS. When TGS arived, dozens of PS Vita titles where revealed (over the span of a couple of days).

PS Vita Games List Dude you really have done your home work! PS Vita is shaping up to the best gaming device ever made. Not because it will sell a crap load but by its games. I love the greats, PS, PS2, PSP, & PS3, but this baby surpasses all of them in gaming potential. New IPs for the benefit of those who whine about ports out number the old ones. Exclusives: Uncharted: Golden Abyss Little Big Planet Touch Little Deviants Ridge Racer Escape Plan Touch My Katamari Gravity Daze Resistance: Burning Skies Killzone Call of Duty Ragnarok Odyssey Shinobido 2 Ruin Sounds and Shapes Army Corps of Hell Dynasty Warriors Next Sumioni Eyepet 2 Reality Fighters Bioshock Vita Tales of Innocence R Pure Chess New Multi-Plats: Dust 514 Street Fighter X Tekken Blazeblue Extended Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Lord of Apocalypse Dragon's Crown Time Travelers .F1 2011 Mortal Kombat See new games, not ports, make up the PS Vita games line up. Now that is undeniable facts.

93BlackHawk93

Well to be fair it was reasonable backlash from people bitter over the fact that the psp was constantly refered to as a PORTable and received quite the bashing for its library...

Also the Vita has more exclusive games and new ips in its infancy as well... Not that it matters that the 3DS had a slow start, for all we know the Vita could have a drought like the psp had after its launch or one similar to the 3DS's.

2012 does appear to be an amazing year to be a handheld gamer though.

My money is going on an iPad since I only care for three of those games. And FFX was horrible.

Zophar87

iOS has some fun time killers. If given the choice if carying around something in a backpack, PS Vita with all the accesories would seem like the better choice.

Final Fantasy 10 has a very huge fan base. The game can not be "horrible" if so many people like it.

Alright, I know I stated earlier that the lineup isn't that impressive to me, but I TOTALLY freaked when I saw a title that I somehow missed my first glance through.

Final Fantasy X? Really? Omg.

Are they adding in everything from the PAL version as well? Dark Aeons? Penance? Dude I will buy a Vita just to play this game.

I say it's the only game that interests me because as far as I know it's a dungeon crawling beat-em-up. That's about it.

I happen to like those types of games.

Whoops. Fixed!

I am asking those (that remember) what the list of PS Vita games where around E3 compared to around TGS. There is a big disparity. More games where announced at TGS for the PS Vita to point where it would make the current list of titles look smaller if TGS never happened.

Basically, after TGS, the PS Vita got the bulk of its titles.

Yea, none of those iphone games don't come close to Persona4, Z.O.E 2, MGS2,3, Peace Walker and Final Fantasy X. Lets not forget the fact gamepad >> touchscreen any day of the week. So I'll game with the Vita for the win (let's not forget the 3DS)
