People keep calling the PS1 or the PS2 the best console ever. They are far from the top of that list. People need to realize that the having the best library of games =/= being the best console. I can understand it being the best choice but that doesn't make it the best console. That's like saying the Toyota Camry is the best car ever. I'm not trying to nit-pick, I just wish that someone would say it has the best library instead of making it sound like some technical achievement. May to celebrate mediocrity....

So if the N-Gage and the GBA magically switched libraries the N-Gage would be better? You should rate consoles on their hardware, libraries on their software and your choice on both. I used to own a Camry by the way, obviously you didn't pick up on that part....

Well you should base your choice on both hardware and software but you can't say the hardware is better because the software is, that doesn't make sense.

People, I put in my OP that it very well may be the best choice and have the best library, you aren't bringing anything new to the thread. If it's the best "choice" then fine but you can't say it's the best "console" specifically and solely because of that.

PS2 isnt THE best, its one of the best next to NES & SNES. I mean so many good games for it. Hell i still collect PS1 games, last week i got Megaman Legends.

a lot of games were better on ps2, for example the GTAs off the top of my head.
People, I own a PS2 and both versions of the PS1, and a collective 80 some games for them. I love the PS2. Nevertheless, people of much banter, my point still stands. You guys act like I hate the PS2 or something...

N64 has all my favourite games ever, so its best for me. the GC was the best for me this gen, because i love nintendo games and they had some other amazing exclusives too (rogue leader, eternal darkness, resi 4 for a while), but theres no denying the PS2 had the biggest quantity of quality titles, but i just prefered the GC's exclusives. but im definately getting a PS2 ASAP for okami, SOTC, FF12, ico, kingdom hearts etc. b xx
