Why would they shell out the extra cash for a game system when they can get a Blu-ray player for half the price?deathtoallgods
I guess you guys missed the part of the commercial where they showed the PS3 games. I guess all Blu Ray players can play PS3 games now?
PS3 games and The Dark Knight on Blu Ray only possible on PS3 is what the commercial was getting at.

But as far as I'm concerned there is no point, movies are just bad investments. Games I can play tens even hundreds of hours, ditto with music, a movie I only care to see once and if I ever want to see it again there'll be re-runs on tv to the point where I want to scratch my eyes out.
blu-ray can be well under $30 if you know where and when to go.
If you missed it, here is a example:

I'm waiting for LotR extended v. I wonder if they will fit each movie and the appendix's on one disc. I love watching the "making of" for those movies.
Selling consoles with movies is like people buying a Dodge Calibur because it has a cooler in the glovebox.DJ_Laeand people do that.
As of right now the ps3 is the most expensive blu-ray player on the market. sirk1264

PS3 is the best value as far as Blu Ray players go. There are cheaper ones, but they arn't very good quality
Anybody who plunks down $400 for a PS3 for this movie alone deserves to have their testicles treated like a boxing speedbag.bez2083Ah. The incomprable Hines Ward claims another victim! And to be honest, I dont really think this will help move PS3s. The funny thing is, SONY wins all around. They will sell a lot of PS3s, they will sell a lot of Blu-ray players, and theywill sell many Blu-ray copies of The Dark Knight.

Quite frankly thats a ridiculous price for a movie player but people will see cheaper blu-ray players than the ps3 and will more than likely purchase the cheaper players. Price plays a big role in making a decision of what to get.[QUOTE="DJ_Lae"]Selling consoles with movies is like people buying a Dodge Calibur because it has a cooler in the glovebox.TeufelhuhnIt has a cooler in the glovebox?!? :oIt does??? :o
