To the TC, The Ps3's GPU is on par with an Nvidia 7900GT, The Cpu is debatabl, the Cell has 8 threads on a single core, a single computer core has two of those yet it still doesn't match up to a midrange Intel Core 2 Duo because the architecture in the core 2 duo's are way better(and faster). The Cell is a number cruncher, it wasn't made for gaming in mind. Just like those Workstation video cards used for photo editing and 3D modeling, the specs they have completely oblitarate regular gaming graphics cards but they fail at even running even most basic games.

Tech demos don't mean jack until you can actually put it into a game running at a decent fps.

It's too bad it has to be bottlenecked by the PS3's GPU.
The Cell more then makes up for it and the RSK is an amazing gpu. RSK > 6800 SLI

Funny to see PC gamers looking up at MGS 4's amazing graphics. Nothing on the PC comes close. All you can do is deny it.

Incredibly detailed and visually breathtaking, with amazing camera angles, MGS4 is one of the most beautiful titles ever made.

From a purely technical point of view i think lots of PC games beat MGS4. Now, to fully apreciate just how good PC games can look you would of course need access to a high spec gaming pc.
The following, ran at high resolution (no laughable 720p and under), minimum of 8xAA, 16xAF and all ingame setting at maximum imho look better "technically" than MGS4. By technically i mean texture resolution, effects, lighting etc etc.
Company of Heroes..........scored 10/10 for graphics under the old review system here on GS.
World in Conflict............... Extremely detailed with loads of fancy lighting and effects going on.
Call of Duty 4 (PC)........... Until you have seen this at high resolution you can never know how good it looks
Bioshock (PC)................. The high levels of AF available on the PC combined with much higher resolutions make this game look awsome at times.
Gears of War (PC).........Same as above
I'm sure people could add more. The fact is the PS3 could never run any of these games, no matter how well optimized they were at maximum ingame graphical settings at 1080p.
ps3>ccomputer its used as a super computer for many companies, NASA and the WHITEHOUSE use them in all of their networks because its just that much faster then anything else out there.UIitimateFanboy

 Its the most complex processor to program and each of the 6 free cores can be programmed to do different tasks (physics, sounds, explosions). A puny quad core can't touch teh cell.

There is no vast difference between 720P or 1080P so it doesn't matter. On a small 720P the game looks just as good as on a giant 1080P screen.

actually there's a pretty big difference. look, though i haven't played it, MGS4 looks awesome. nobody is saying otherwise, but Crysis just beats it graphically. and yes, a high end PC is Waaaaaay more powerful than a PS3.

What is that suppose to mean? The question was which one has better graphics. The obvious answer is Crysis. Technically they don't even come close. Not only are the levels in Crysis larger it still looks better.

No, MGS4 looks like crap compared to any PC game. Ever played Crysis in directx 10 mode everything on very high at 1600x1200 with 4x aa? yeah didn't think so, it blows all consoles out of the water. Even ports look better on PC than the original console they came from. Don't fool yourself jsut because you cant afford current PC hardware.

Add some image filtering buddy AAx8 or Dx10.
nVidiaGaMer just stop. I own both MGS4 and Crysis. Crysis EASILY Blows MGS4 out of the water. The texture resolution in MGS4 is horrible. Sure the Models in the game are fantastic, there's no denying that, but stop and take a look at a wall and it kills that whole feeling of graphical superiority. Really. MGS4 has great atmosphere and great character models, but in no way does it set a new standard for graphics. I whole-heartedly agree that if you have been gaming on a solid gaming computer for the past 3 yrs or so you can find plenty of games in that span on par with MGS4 graphically. O_Lineman17
NO there isn't. I max COD4 1280x1024 and MGS4 destroys it and COD4 was a contender for best graphics and won best graphics on gametrailers.

My PC is good AMD 3800+ @ 2.7GHz, 2GB RAM, MSI OC 512MB 8800GTS and I played Crysis, COD 4, Unreal Tournament III, and more. And I must say MGS 4 is simply amazing.
