un-compressed on a single disc.. hmm.. Honestly I couldn't care less about how many disc's the game uses as long as the visual and gameplay integrity is intact.. Either way I'll be purchasing this one for my 360.. :)Square Enix themselves are saying it too that ps3 is the rightful place to play FFXIII on

SE said that the visuals and the audio on the 360 wont be the same as the ps3 version due to the limitaion of the system but yeah anwyays hope u enjoy it man :)
Why won't it let me link it for you?!
But anyway, yes, BD allows devs to do uncompressed video and sound. But I'm willing to bet everyone will enjoy the game on both systems.

yea, me to:) seems like a good game...i'm glad it went multi-plat;) i wonder if that still stings for cows. i guess so, here's a few now trying to discredit the 360 version.
Yeah buddy sry to burst ur bubble, but that only means that the PS3 will have video with 8mb bitrate at 720p while 360 has 6mb video at 720p. (estimated numbers for example) Audio on PS3 might be at 288kb while 360 is at 256kb. (estimated numbers for examples)most people are incapable of noticing the difference. the graphics will be the same on both consoles. the reason i mention the gfx is because i know this is the reason u made this thread. only difference is prerendered videos and audio. everything else is the same. get over it.
here tell me if the difference is even worth bragging over

actually they said no such thing.we'll have to wait and see, but from my understanding, this game has been in development FOR ps3 since 2006 (immediately after the FF VII tech demo) and most likely didnt start development on 360 until 2008It will be superior on 360.

they finished the japanese ps3 version before all the other versions

So, in-game= pretty much mirror images, but cutscenes= PS3>360 by a very microscopic hair?
hehe, a group of people that believe ones and zeros are better because of the media format that it's on... all you can do is laugh...

pretty much, since square didn't say one would be superior or inferior they just said both had to use different amounts of compression, so there is compression on the ps3 version but a different amount then on the 360.
i bought Ps3 just to play MGS4 and FFXIII but now i am afraid the in game graphics on Xbox360 will be better

Did you read the link?
"Square Enix has apparently revealed that the 360 version of its latest RPG epic, Final Fantasy XIII, will feature compressed audio and video, presumably to help squeeze its considerable heft onto the DVD format.
Despite this, the game will still ship on multiple discs on 360. The PS3 version, however, will come completely uncompressed on a single dual-layer Blu-ray disc, according to a report."
Should be a great game, it will look nice next to my Final Fantasy XIII Versus game as part of my Final Fantasy Collection! :P
SolidTy
Agreed!.. ah i just wish if Final Fantasy Agito XIII was a console game too that would make it epic.. or at least i hope they annouce a PSN version of it like either psp version or as a full game download playable on ps3
i wish i knew how to play JRPGs

I wished I liked them:P
Does Shenmue 1 & 2 count as JRPG's, because those were fun..........
You don't play them, you just watch them like you would a movie and press a button here and there to keep it going.i wish i knew how to play JRPGs

Though the PS3 version may be marginally superior to the 360 version, it's obviously not going to make an impact. I think we can all agree that regardless of which system it's on; it is going to be an unreal game, and all of us FF fans may rejoice in happiness! :) I'll be getting it for the Xbox 360 because I love achievements. lolPistolGripPump
How much do you love achievements?
I bet I love them more than you! :)
I got 100,000+ Gamerscore, and I'm getting this on PS3. Besides, the PS3 version nets you a Free PS3 Final Fantasy Custom themes as you complete the game, plus trophies! :P
I just am not willing to forgo audio and visual enhancements (I have a 1080p screen, I want to use it, uncompressed audio? FTW!), free Final Fantasy themes, PSN trophies (I have 1900+! :)), and knowing Final Fantasy XIII Versus is a PS3 exclusive, messing up my collection. I don't want to have a 360 game, and then a PS3 game, gotta keep them uniform, like my Mass Effect series, or my Legacy of Kain collection! :P
That's how I see things. :P
i wish i knew how to play JRPGs

The hardest thing is not to fall asleep while playing them
Thanks for reminding me, Im saving my money from today til it comes out.... what day is it out again?Dogswithguns

I also enjoy Achievements, I just beat MGS4 and didnt even get one trophy, which is lame :x

Still pissed about that one till this day, but I bought the GoW collection and it is very liberal with the trophies.:D

""A dual-layer DVD holds just under 9GBs of data. A dual-layer Blu-ray disc can swallow up to 50GBs worth of 1s and 0s.
The actual differences to your eyes and ears will hopefully be near unnoticeable, but we know what some of you are like with your magnifying glasses. If you're one to nit-pick you may lean towards getting the PS3 one.""
the magical report though?

Wheres the link on that site to this report? all we have is that site saying that in an interview with famitsu...no link to famitsu, no link to the interview, no link to forum posts. it is in essence a twitter post a news update that so and so on that site found it to be so...no proof of such claims at all.
but!!!
we have the original interview being talked about here on system wars.

So where is this undeniable proof showing the ps3 verson uses no compression at all? the site gives no concrete source except another website that links to nothing and simply reports it as news much like a twitter posting.

I don't go for that "limitation of the system" talk simply because system's can be stretched beyond their limits (GOW for the PS2).. It just takes a dedicated dev to exploit the hardware. Either way, I do expect the PS3 version to be "superior", however unless it's a complete half ***ed attempt, I'll be content. Please Log In to post.
