This is good news. MS have become lazy and deserve a little slap abckto reality. Of course in reality however MS don't give a **** they've made a profit and with Nintendo, killed off alot of Sony's marketshare.

I think nextgen will be MS's real test, have the fans they bought to the 360 enjoyed there time enough to another helping? (doubt it)

And absolutely true. These numbers aren't some marketing spin or purely for fanboys to tout. They are the quarterly financial reports of major multinational corporations, required by law (at least in the U.S.), so that investors have an accurate portrayal of what's going on with the company. You get caught cooking the books to stockholders and you go to jail. If MS were to run through the 1 billion dollars they sat aside (in an earlier quarterly report) for warranty repairs due to RROD, they'd have to list the expenses incurred on the quarterly report, though they wouldn't be required to detail the number or types of repairs. That's the only place you'd find broken 360s on a financial report.

That has been a problem for generations, it is what it is.

You are going to have to accept what we have accepted for years and years and years, through generations of console gaming.

We will never know the exact spot on by the second figures...but 3.6 million, that's as close as we are going to get for SW purposes.

How is it possible that the PS2 has as many units shipped to retailers as the 360? Who is buying the PS2? I guess Latin America is really buying up the PS2.

South America, Asia, Parts of Africa. PS2 is really cheap right now compared to Xbox 360 or PS3.

PUlled it above 4 million now? They JUST released that 41.7 million number a few days ago I believe. DO you really think they sold 2 million more consoles in the few days between when they announced and when Sony has announced? Keep in mind the 360 only sold 9 million consoles in all of last year.

Yeah but isn't that assuming that no PS3's were sold since? Especially since the PS3 has been outselling the 360 WW up until the slim? I doubt that the gap increased by much if any. It may be stalled right now.

And in other news i somehow mange to attract a stalker lol...........a high level one at that.......but anyways....good stuff sony when its all said and done adding bluray will be the smartest thing sony has ever done..........360 should have added the HD-DVD drive but microsoft wanted to rush there system and then all the lems got rrod......bad trade off i say Syn_Valence

There were also some obvious space advantages using Blu-rays for games too, which in retrospect may have been less of a big deal than Sony predicted, but they were advantages nevertheless.

Many people own a PSP. Coolyfett is the most unstoppable PSP gamer on this website. He is reallygood too. Saying that a device such as this is getting "spanked" is pure negativity. The PSP 3000 is a really nice system, so nice there are no immediate plans to replace it. Give the PSP 3000 a try, you and friends you share it with will enjoy it. The PSP gets a lot of usage from Coolyfett. Thats what makes him a winner. Peace & Love.

Anyways, I guess PS3 really does have a chance of passing the 360 this gen sales wise. I could care less since I already own one and it wouldn't really affect me, you, or anyone else who has one but whatever.

So, basically, Sony and Microsoft are within a quarter's WW sales of each other?

MS really failed to capitalize on that year long head start.

Man... The gap is only 3.6 million. At this rate, PS3 could pass the 360 next year for all we know.
