PS3 is bombing in Europe much worse than anybody could have imagined

Ok so as we all know it was just released that the PS3 had sold 800k in Europe - LINK

Of that 800k...600k was sold in the first week - LINK

Ok of that 600k from that link you could see that 165k of that was from the UK

Now for the second week sales we know that the PS3 dropped 82% in sales in the UK - LINK

For the third week of salse we know that the PS3 sold 17k and was outsold by the Wii which sold 25k and the 360 sold 11k - LINK

Using some simple math we can figure out that the PS3 sold in the UK

Week 1:  165k

Week 2:  29700 (82% drop)

Week 3:  17k

Week 4:  ??

Ok using the ratio of PS3's that are sold in the UK based off the first week we find that in all of europe the PS3 sold

Week 1:  600k (Based of earlier links) (This means the UK is responsible for 27.5% of sales in Europe)

Week 2:  108k (Based of the %% the UK is responsible for)

Week 3:  61818 (Based of the %% the UK is responsible for)

Week 4:  30182 (800k-600k-108k-61818 = that number)

This means the UK only sold about 8.3k in the UK in the 4th week.  Keep in mind the 360 sold 11k last week and the Wii sold 25k and theres no reason for those consoles to suddenly decline in sales (theyve been out longer).   So basically this is terrible news that the PS3 has only sold 800k in a month in Europe.  The rate of decline in sales is very drastic and scary for sony. 

Now that my friend is a better way of putting it. Even if Sony is telling the truth and 800,000 sold it's still a monumental failure and continues to sink.

But like I've said in other threads - I'm convinced it'll resurface in a few months time IF Sony can keep exclusives locked down. Mind you - their new SKU (possible) is definitely not going to help sway the masses.

The prices have actually been reduced at many other retailers outside of London -- the press just doesn't travel as fast from non-english / non-major markets.

Thats the weakest spin Ive ever heard in my life.  Who cares if the %% is slightly off that just means off of Europe either sold more or less during one week then the opposite during the next.  We know for a FACT it sold 600k opening week from sony.  We know for a FACT that it sold 200k the NEXT THREE WEEKS.  Obviously the 2nd week was more than the third and the third was more than the fourth.  You cant spin this the numbers are there to prove it.  The PS3 is plummeting in sales.

On teh other hand: it saw a 82% drop in a country that had made close 1/3 of it's first weeks sales and taking 3 weeks to sell 1/3 of the sales u made the first week isnt pretty for the fact that it's a new console. Also, Sony shipped 1mil.....its been a months and that hasnt sold out....not a good thing.

the only thing delusional is cows thinking that sony selling 800,000 in 4 weeks is good. nintendo sold 325,000 in europe in 2 days! that's almost half of what sony sold in just 2 days! that's a real record. link

Now this is what I wanted.  So far weve seen one cow flip out and now another has gone off the deep end before my eyes.  200k in 3 weeks is NOT a good thing.  Unless of course you think that the PS3 is destroying competition in Japan right now and whiping the floor clean in the US.  If you expected it to have good sales for the first week then completely drop off in sales and be outsold by the Wii and 360 in Europe yea I guess your right.  The PS3 is on course to sell 120k for the next month.......Thats lower than its US sales......And you see this as a good thing?

Let me put it for you this way.  The PS3 started off strong on Japan and now its selling worse than the gamecube (It only sold 4 million in Japan in its entire life).  The PS3 started off strong in the US and its been crushed by both the 360 AND the Wii in sales.  The PS3 started off strong in Europe but now its ALREADY being outsold by the Wii on a week-week basis in Europe and potentially the 360 also.   The recent news from Europe is only bad.

The fact is that your just wasteing your time posting these numbers. If HD-DVD contiunes to flop, PS3 sales will pick up. Its a cheap blu ray. When the sales pick up so do the games. Same thing happen last gen, and it will happen again this gen.

This is all completely pointless.

A system doesn't fail in the first 5 months. It doesn't fail in the first 6, or 7, or 8. It doesn't even fail in the first year.

Especially when the company behind the console has the money to  support it. 

is it possible that since it didnt launch in the holiday season, that launch numbers would be good, but it wouldnt really sell the following weeks because people are less willing to spend a large amount of money out of holiday season? nope i guess not...IT MUST BE DOOMED!! lair and hs will flop. warhawk has been downgraded to an online multiplayer game that has to be downloaded because it won't come out in stores. mgs sucks and has horrible graphics. ff13 is no longer exclusive according to se. anything else?
