Yes, but with the next gen pricing noon can tell why it sold low, if you can call 12 million so far low, and the fact that 360 is outselling PS3 in US/Europe !!! Pricing will become more of an issue for PS3 as time passes, and pc's get more affordable too, why buy a 600$ PS3 when you can have DX10 pc ? BUT you can buy a 300$ 360 to have along with your PC

Ok so as we all know it was just released that the PS3 had sold 800k in Europe - LINK

Of that 800k...600k was sold in the first week - LINK

Ok of that 600k from that link you could see that 165k of that was from the UK

Now for the second week sales we know that the PS3 dropped 82% in sales in the UK - LINK

For the third week of salse we know that the PS3 sold 17k and was outsold by the Wii which sold 25k and the 360 sold 11k - LINK

Using some simple math we can figure out that the PS3 sold in the UK

Week 1:  165k

Week 2:  29700 (82% drop)

Week 3:  17k

Week 4:  ??

Ok using the ratio of PS3's that are sold in the UK based off the first week we find that in all of europe the PS3 sold

Week 1:  600k (Based of earlier links) (This means the UK is responsible for 27.5% of sales in Europe)

Week 2:  108k (Based of the %% the UK is responsible for)

Week 3:  61818 (Based of the %% the UK is responsible for)

Week 4:  30182 (800k-600k-108k-61818 = that number)

This means the UK only sold about 8.3k in the UK in the 4th week.  Keep in mind the 360 sold 11k last week and the Wii sold 25k and theres no reason for those consoles to suddenly decline in sales (theyve been out longer).   So basically this is terrible news that the PS3 has only sold 800k in a month in Europe.  The rate of decline in sales is very drastic and scary for sony.

It's the price that is crushing the ps3's sales.

Especially here in the UK where were paying alot more than most countries around the world that sell ps3's.

However if Sony drop the price of the ps3 by say... 20% then i think there back in the game.

Actually, you're close. On a general consesus, people act like system wars in real life. We have all the weird nerds bashing the ps3, and praising the xbox 360. I've actually been threatened because I have a PS3.

Overall, most of the people i've talked to are waiting for a price drop, or waiting for more games.

One of the few companies to actually bring out a good colour handheld. Get back in your cave and dont come out until you can appricate the goodness that Nec and Hudson Soft has brought us. The only other half decent colour that came out at the time was a Neo Geo pocket.  Hucards, one of the best formats ever used for gaming and one of the smallest. True capability, using the same hucard for the handheld as for the home system.

Its bad enough when sheep go on about saving and innovation. Then forget what other quailty console brought to the industry. Neo-Go and Pc Engine/TG as a whole played a big part.

The reason for that is the price and lack of games, I was at HMV today and people stand in-front of the monitor and are impressed but of what they are seeing but the games that are shown are n't even out: MGS4, ASSASSIN CREED etc... and some that are out, and some say the price is too high for a gaming system. WHSMITH lowered the price to £399.99 which may help but without new games coming out who would want to spend that kind of mony.
