As for the competition, Microsoft already failed to create a good basis for the 360 with the medicore first xbox, only 30 million sales and mediocre first party support. The 360 seems a improvement on the first party support but it can't succeed in only America. As for the wii, lets face it, its a secondary console. people will soon have top buy another console to another console for a true current gen experience, not only that but6 its hardware is already outdated, this is really going to put people off in the next 3 years. I can't see wii living past 2010 as the system leader...

Past sales don't matter, if this were true, the GC should have dominated, and saying the console should be around in 10 years and have no proof to back it up, um yeah, the PS1 lasted 5 years, PS2 6 years. PS1 and PS2 were amazing, and Sony had a great business strategy going with those.

It looks like with PS3 Sony got way too cocksure and basically ditched everything that made their previous systems great.

I'm not going to say who I think will win, all I'll say is that PS3 won't be as amazing as its predecessors.

Besides; from a sales and profit standpoint Wii has this gen locked down, even if the games aren't as stellar as they could have been.

Understand that with potential it doesnt just mean that its going to be good and be a success that everything is going to workout. Things also have the potential to suck complete ass no matter how much money goes into them or support they get. People should understand this.

They're only invested so heavily because they were working on the games before the abyssmal first year sales. They can't cut and run because it would be a lost investment.

Side note: Goodlay, you live in NC?

Nintendo needs this win this gen because the Gamecube and N64 just got spanked up and down console wars. And Sony needs to realize what made them what they are and go back to their roots and losing this gen could help them realize the things they done wrong. So they could avoid future mistakes. Just like Microsoft is going to make sure their hardware won't fail and they improved by making the warranty last longer.

The lower scores were because they were remakes. If you want the best, most complete MGS1 experience, you play Twin Snakes. Same for the Xbox one.
