PS3 is superior than the 360

The funny thing is that rsx is not clocked at 550 mhz,its 500 mhz,it was down clocked.Flops are not the way to compare systems abilities,its actually very wrong.Both consoles are different in architecture and 215GFLOPS from Cell(7*SPES and one ppu) and that is where theoretical and real life power deffer.That "math" is pretty much biased towards to ps,if you think otherwise you dont know anything about ps3 and 360.If you compare it then you can remove one spu(25 GFLOPS) because its reserved for OS and you can remove ppu(40 GFLOPS) because you dont use it the same way like 360,in 360 you actually use all ppu and program them for tasks you want in ps3 ppu shouldnt count as that because that ppu is reserved to give tasks for spus,because they dont have access to memory so you cant program them to do your tasks but rather program ppu to give them work.Emotion Engine(270mhz) had 2 times more FLOPS then Pentium 3 733mhz,and xbox used Celeron 733 mhz,look how it ended...

That leaves ps3 150GFLOPS vs 360s 115 GFLOPS but then you see that ps3 has to use some spus for helping rsx and thats why all educated people say they are equal.And yea about rsx vs xenos,there is no comparison,xenos overpowers rsx in EVERY situation,48 vs 24 pipelines(it was said that those unified pipelines may not be as good as those FIVE years ago,but now when every gfx card is unified we sure know)?same clockspeed,2 times more triangles,10 mg of EDRAM,memexport...list goes on.They are pretty much,and btw those specs are 5 yrs old...

they do optimize heavily since they have to have the games scalable for many different sets of hardware, that's their version of optimization and it's more complicated than what you see in exclusive console games

but what's great is that when you crank things up, you can take a game that could run on a pentium 4 and make it look 10x better than anything on consoles

and with hardware always getting better, the sky is the limit, no need to limit game design with tiny corridors because your budget is focused on graphics

TC, those are nice numbers but they only make PS3 look bad since this would be the first time in history that the "most powerfull console" had the worst looking version of the majority of games.

Why not just accept that PS3 is nothing like Sony hyped it to be and move on? Its a great console with awesome capabilities just like the 360. Not better or worse.

I could go on for hours on the medeocre performance of the AAA games of ps3, they just aren't held to the same standard. I can't find people to play me in sf4 like i can on the 360. PSN is virtually worthless if you have a 360 and no PSP. I do like having wireless built in, and a blue ray player. The old playstation controller design feels old and just doesn't work as well as the 360s, but it is nice not having to buy a seperate charger. Required instalations drive me nuts, when you are ready to play you don't want endless load times. At the end of the day I like having a 360 because I like Gears of War, Fable,Halo,Left 4 Dead and don't like waiting longer for games with a few add onsand a controller that isn't as comfortable.I don't like uncharted,infamous,mgs4,

in simple terms there are is no worthwhile online with the ps3, there is an old controller on the ps3, and mostly there are no good exclusives. I dowant GoW3 but it has always felt like a genericcopy of dmc to me, and I'd rather have a more functional bayonetta than GoW3.

• First, GPU clock is useless to compare. One may simply be able to do more per clock cycle than the other (which the Xenos has demonstrated).
• Second, having unified memory can be a boon. If you have a part of the game that's low on graphics but high on non-graphic memory (or vice-versa, an area heavy on graphics but low on non-graphics demands), how would you redistribute the workload on a PS3, whose memory limitations are fixed?
• Few games today exceed 6-7GB, even on the PC (where capacities are less of an issue). Development costs tend to preclude much bigger games, and that's independent of disc size. Of the entire 360 lineup of hundreds of games, the number of multi-disc games are miniscule, and most are JRPGs where multiple discs are not so frowned upon due to their linear progression (remember FF7?).
• Do those TFLOP calculations take the GPU into consideration, which are much more capable of floating-point operations? Besides, gaming involves a lot of integer and bit logic as well as floating-point computation.
• A 10% difference in memory throughput. Doesn't seem like much to me. Plus, last I read the PS3 has a few bottlenecks that can hamper that rate.
• The 360 can and has done 1080p60 games (VT3, NBA Street 2). It's just tricky for either console to do it while performing graphically-intensive scenes (Otherwise, why aren't GoW3 or GT5 being targeted at 1080p60 during gameplay anymore?).
• Bluetooth is not necessary for the 360 since it has its own wireless comm system for controllers and headsets. As for WiFi, what if you have an 802.11n network? Now the PS3's in the same boat since n is multi-antenna and requires a hardware upgrade. Anyway, what if you don't need or don't trust WiFi? Then you'd be paying for something you don't want.
• It's not like you need a hard drive to play 360 games. The number of ones that do can be counted with one hand. And installation is an option, unlike a number of PS3 games. Besides, if you want to play media on your 360 you can always attach a USB hard drive, connect over a home network, or employ Windows Media Center.

I don't know about the technical stuff, so I can't comment on that, but I disagree with your HDD statement. In most cases, you'll probably need a harddrive to play games. Want to play online? Get a HDD. Want to play Original XBOX games? Get an HDD. You still need an HDD if you pass the 256 mb limit of storage in an arcade, and there are games like Forza 3 that require installation to play all of the game. You can't really do anything on Xbox Live without an HDD, which is arguably the funnest part of owning a Xbox360. This was the biggest reason why I chose a PS3 over a 360. I wasn't planning on getting Live because I didn't want to pay the money that it costs($20 is ok, though, for people who get it when the deals are around).

The OP just got himself owned. The 360 is exactly the same as the PS3 in terms of power & graphics. People like the OP thinks that the PS3 is more powerful than the 360 because of games like Uncharted 2. Just give the developers the same money & time, & I guarantee you that the graphics would come out to be the same on the 360.

considering the hardware difference, i hope not. actually if you had a pc with similiar components to the ps3 i wonder which would look better.

This stuff too me is absurd, and it's always the song fanboy who wants to bring this stuff up. I had friend who wuld tell me FFX had the most amazing graphics he's ever seen and I burst out laughing and said "have you never seen anything on xbox?"

No, the XBOX 360 is not the same as PS3 in power or graphics. Why? Because the The PS3 has the CELL PROCESSOR and the Cell processor does what no other Consumer CPU can do, including PC CPU's.....The Cell can graphics process and graphics render by ITSELF.

XBOX has some good games but XBOX 360 will never have the same graphical potential of PS3...period.
