PS3 needs more respect

Before anyone calls me a PS3 Fanboy i just want to say i love a lot of xbox 360 titles as well like Halo and Gears of War im a big fan of the 360 as well. I just really don't like how people who have no idea what their talking about bash on the PS3 and Sony so i want to list some things im hopeing somebody who completely hates the PS3 because they have an xbox reads and show Playstation a little more respect as a great console

1) First and probably the biggest thing about the PS3 is the vast amount of A+ exclusives in the Playstation Library making Playstation the obvious king of exclusives

1.Uncharted 1,2,3

2.Killzone 1,2,3

3.Little Big Planet 1 and 2(At first glance looks like a little kids game but is really great for all ages)

4.Infamous1 and 2

5.God of War lll

6. Sly Cooper

7.Gran Turismo

8.Resistance

9.DC Universe Online (FULL GAME FREE TO DOWNLOAD ON PSN ADD My Hero PyroManiacMan)

10.Twisted Metal 2012

Reason 2) FREE TO PLAY ONLINE!!!!

Reason 3) Blu-Ray disks provide protection from scratches and you can pay 100-200 bucks for a Blu-Ray disk player alone

Reason 4) Runs extremely queitly Example: as i was writing THIS i looked over at my ps3 a foot or two away and saw its still on after 4 hours

Reason 5) Doesnt overheat easily this kinda goes with 4 i felt it and it was actually cold and well downloading the NOW FREE!!!DC universe online full game that unfortuanitly took 6 hours to download (a friend of mine and I tried to figure out a rubix cube well patiently waiting without any luck i mighty add )but anyway after the download i felt the system it wasnt cool to the touch but wasnt far above room tempature!!! NO RED RING OF DEATH!!!

Reason 6) The SIXAXIS Controller motion sensitivity is great for drivingin games like grand theft auto and the ability to move your characters head in Little Big Planet although use less is a cool edition to a great family game

Reason 7) PS Vita!!!! who can say their not excited for the Next Generation Portable im hoping ill be able to use my same PSN as my PS3's and show my trophies from my PS3 games on my Vita and my Vita trophies on PS3

So please no more disrespect for either of the 2 greatest consoles (sorry nintendo your wii and 3ds fail and adding a wannabee tablet or extra joystick wont make a difference to serious gamers )

The PS3 gets a ton of respect on these forums.....

im admittedly more of a lem than a cow, but i r sad that you left out one of the great gems of this generation: heavy rain.

The problem with PS3 is that besides Demons Souls, i just dont care about its other exclusives at all

I have zero interest in Uncharted, Killzone, Twisted Metal, LBP, WKC, Infamous, Resistance, MGS4, GOW3 etc etc

In 2012 gets better with Ni no Kuni, which is not exclusive though, also on DS and is not some special either, the gameplay looks basic TBH

Last guardian should be good too, waiting ages for this one

Maybe Dragons Crown, which is a sidescrolling brawler with great art also, again not exclusive (also on Vita)

but these games i do care for are few and far between, i doubt will be more than 5 exclusives by the end of PS3 life

Generally it lacks many exclusives i would care about

I do respect PS3. I don't drop it, submerge it in liquid, I keep it well ventilated and I don't put anything on top of it.

PS3 is the most underrated console ever, perhaps. Really, where else can you play games like the Uncharted series? Well, the psx was at the advent of 3D, but I still stand by what I said. This generation, sports games have evolved, shooters have evolved, and just about every other genre along with it--perhaps this is the gen where these genres peak and new ones will arrive next gen. The ps3 really brought the fidelity as far as audio/visual design goes. There's tons of options which many people enjoy. Old arcade games via psn, indie games, and quarky original titles.

Games like Tumble are COMPLETELY original and an amazing experience if given the chance. It is actually one of the most fun games I've had this gen. Move can be touchy, but when properly calibrated, Tiger12 is a BLAST to play and probably the best golf experience to land on consoles ever.

There's also been a very consistent stream of big games, not to mention odd japanese rpgs coming to the platform.

Are western RPG a genre.? And not something made up actually.? and RPG is an RPG it doesn't matter were it came from,but all systems were weak on WRPG on the PS1 days.

But you can't compare them per say,back on the PS1 days,fighting games and RPG's were very popular as well as platformers,the whole horror survival games were fresh and new,now FPS are the things of the day,RPG are not that big any more,platformers either unless you want to count Mario in which no one can defeat.

^ well it certainly isn't a perfect state of affairs having to purchase multiple systems, but the presensence of all of these systems creates the kind of competition that (in theory) leads to better games.

Not for me, WRPG's are very different from your typical JRPG's and in this the PS3 falters quite a bit. The 360's isn't a whole lot better mind you, just slightly

I'll admit, I wasn't thinking of PSN/XBL games, i'm not that into downloadable games (not because they're bad, simply because I like owning physical copies)

GeoW3, Forza4 and a few multi-plats (Rage, RDR, and Crysis2 off the top of my head) look every bit as good and even better than UC3 unless were talking just cut-scenes here than you may have a point, but then again, who in the real world really cares about cut-scene quality over actual game-play anyway?

The PS3 is indeed a great console but it's not the holy grail of gaming this generation like Sony would have people believe.

I think the Kinect is kind of a sign of respect to Sony, its hard competing with Sony for the core gamers so they decided to appeal to a different audience.

And the PSvita is much better than the 3DS.

First, have a little respect--"listen up BRO"??? Second, I think you missed the point. I stand by what I said; the ps3 is the ONLY console this gen that offers such extremely high polished experiences. Sony throws tons of money into these big releases. Playing them on a sdtv, or dinky stereo does not do them justice. The ps3 was the proper upgrade from last gen.

Gaming died after Sega left the console gaming maket. PS2 had a good run but now...

There are only a hand full of games that I can even come to grips with callin great this gen spread thrugh out all systems. PS3 would get more respect if it came out with more JRPGs (like what most of the fans who bought the system were expecting). Sony got caught up so much with trying to compete with MS that they let themselves become to much of a me too system.

I'm thankful for what sony has done in trying to a appeal larger audience by creatingmore diverse games over Nintendo and MS, but honestly it only appears that way because of how shallowthe other libraries are. All the FPS BS makes me sick--I can get that on PC or 360.

I think the PS3 platform avaible now and fanboys bash it for dumb reasons yea, but PS3 drops the ball on games it was supposed to deliver trying to keep up with 360 on FPS. Demon's Souls was one of the few sparks that made this gen worthwhile, but generations before were littered with amazing and diverse games.

A console needing respect :? ... It's simply another form of entertainment, some will enjoy it some will not. It's an inanimate object, it doesn't need respect HOWEVER in the context of gaming I could see where it should at least be acknowledged as a successful form of gaming entertainment.

It plays Blu-Ray movies, up-converts old DVDs so they shine on your HDTV, supports 3D visuals, streams Netflix & other digital content, and so much more. The PS3 boasts a line-up of Exclusive Games to stand toe-to-toe with anyone and it only gets better each quarter. The PS3 has completely caught the imagination of masses and the gaming console is fast turning people into believers. Most of them just need this unique piece in their hand and the rest of the world might go to the dogs for all they care.Heil68
