PS3 Orange Box AKA Garbage in Orange Plastic

Blaming it on EA and saw it coming a mile away. I've been "damning" this particular port since it was announced that Valve wasn't doing the porting.

Please, JiveT. EA deserves their reputation and this game EXEMPLIFIES it. NO SURPRISES HERE.

Oh, please. I played Half Life 2 on a 3.0 Ghz P4 and a Radeon 9600 on 1 gig of RAM in 2003. I don't think it's a serious issue of technical limitations. It's an issue of chimps in space suits with dangerous objects.

Alright. They can blame Valve. There is nothing smashing about The Orange Box's performance. Many other games beat it by miles.

They said the same things about Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed.

They care more about framerate than the game. Don't take or believe anything they say because they are about as impartial and accurate as a blind fanboy trying to play darts.

I have the Orange Box on 360. It isn't exactly a graphical beast. So why wouldn't cows blame this on EA? Even if PS3 is more difficult to program for, it's still EA's fault for not doing the best job they can. If the PS3 can handle Call of Duty 4, Assassins Creed(for the most part), Uncharted, and most likely Unreal Tournament 4 without a hitch... Orange Box should be no problem. dr-venkman

That totaly depends on your PC setup. Many gamers will have a much better experience on the 360. Most probably.

will devs get it in there heads and stopdoing the easy mans way of porting stop taken xbox 360 code and trying to make it work on the ps3.OmegaTau

That is the reason why Gabe Newell the head guy at at Valve did not want to make the PS3 version so he dumped it on to EA instead of having Vavle do the Orange Box for PS3. He said -

"Investing in the Cell, investing in the SPE gives you no long-term benefits. There's nothing there that you're going to apply to anything else. You're not going to gain anything except a hatred of the architecture they've created", Newell told Edge magazine.

"I don't think they're going to make money off their box. I don't think it's a good solution."

With the clock ticking, EA has a limited amount of time to fix the glaring issues which plague this port of The Orange Box. Unfortunately, it seems that, once again, PlayStation 3 owners are doomed to suffer through another substandard version of a multiplatform game.

I just bought a $1000 laptop to replace my old desktop and it can't even run Farcry on the lowest settings at anything more than 15 fps. I didn't buy it to play games but still...kind of sad. That's why I don't get the PC version.
