PS3 out sells xbox 360 again this week.

How did I know there was going to be a link for Inaccuratecharts in this thread. Weren't they the same site that miss caclulated the October numbers by 200k? Why are fanboys still using this..

The PS3 would have to outsell the 360 by over 600,000 units worldwide every month for that to happen.

Assuming that Vgchartz is even remotely true,PS3 is only outselling the 360 by about 200k a month, and that's only because of the holiday season.

......should I tell you more why this is a fool's bet?

1) NA is Still the biggest worldwide gaming market

2) 360 is STILL ahead of Ps3 in Europe as a whole.

3) The PS3 is not exactly flying off the shelves in Japan either. The Gamecube averaged 65K a week in Japan this time of year. The PS3 is only doing 50K.

Doesn't matter.. How many months on the market was the PS2 compared to the GC/XB? Exactly! The point is it's still beating the sht out of the PS3. Last month the 360 sold 770k while the PS3 sold 440k roughtly.. That's an ass kicking if you ask me.

The market is a very different place than it was back then. Sony had hype, EA, and a lack of competition. This time everyone has EA, their sales and software are mediocre, and there is no system-seller on the horizon for at least 6 more months.

There's no reason to even suspect the PS3 will outsell the 360 any month soon. much less the Wii.

It also came out year before, so, just for the sake of ease, you could make a point saying that the average 360 owner has had 12 more months than the average Wii or PS3 owner to acquire those games. The average gamer, in a year, will buy 3 or 4 games per console.

This point needs to be dropped because it makes absolutely no sense. This argument is as foolish as the argument that the PSP is "stealing market-share" from the DS.

And, if that 9 million number is correct, that's much more impressive than the 9 million that the 360 sold in its first year. The 360 was $100 cheaper (on average, most likely), and it had no competition. The PS3 launched in its competition's strongest year, and it launched next to the most successful gaming hardware in history.

That all well and good but it's still speculation at this point... The only hard nose facts we have are current sales figures... Cows can spit that "just wait.." BS all they want but they don't know what the market will be like this year. There's no garauntee on MGS4, GT 5 ect.. Just like with 360/wii software.

If you're talking about the years, I'm sure that you know the PS2 wasn't a global launch. It was launched in March in Japan with very limited shipments, then launched in October in the US and November in Europe. So, what are you trying to prove?
