That's funny. The PS2 dodn't have either one of those games when it sold 1 million its first weekend in Japan.

The gamecube took 4 months to sell a million in Japan

The PS3 took 8 months to sell a million in Japan.

PS2 shipped 10 million units at the end of 2001 now remember PS2 launched in March of 2000. PS3 has sold almost 9 million units at the end of 2008. PS2 really didn't pick up until its second year. Looks like Sony is headed for a repeat. :D

If you're talking about the years, I'm sure that you know the PS2 wasn't a global launch. It was launched in March in Japan with very limited shipments, then launched in October in the US and November in Europe. So, what are you trying to prove?

Let's start with the PS2 "shipping" 10 million by the end of2000. You do remember because of a fire at one of their manufacturing plant, the PS2 was in major shortage for that holiday season.

In other words, they pretty much sold every system they shipped during that time. So those 10 million were pretty much sold.

We all know Sony may have "shipped"....er I mean "sold to retailers" about 9 million, but we know it's not sold to consumers.

Sony themselves have acknowledged that theymight miss their sales targets.

What you've done there is completely sidestep the problem with VGChartz accuracy, and point out that some of the people on this forum are hypocrites. The fact that I'm sure others would use it to were it in their favou does not, to me, justify using it in the first place.

if it sells the way its been selling then its unlikely it will surpass the 360 in sales like the wii did. You have to understand the the 360 is still selling and selling better then the ps3 in alot of key areas.

WOW PS3s marging keeps growing and growing.. in "Others" PS3 is in Wii territory as far as sales go and 360 is dead last, I guess the 360 fad is dying out quick in Europe and as you said that doesnt even included Japan sales.. Things will definatley get easier for sony in 08
