...eh? 57,056 is that bad >_> its next to the FREAKIN DSi!! Ratchet_Fan857,056= now 207,88 = days after price drop.
In another thread about the sales spike, someone said that journalists would somehow find a way to make the sales boost look bad. Here you have it.
I'm surprised this is news because it was always going to happen, more interesting news would have been what numbers it settles at.
Yep dissapointing numbers right there. Looks like cows better enjoy this while they still can unfortunately,
PS3's bi-annual sales spike ending in 3...2...1.
You do see the the 360s numbers right? the one that's in the 4,000s? The one that the ps3 is currently about 10-12 times ahead?Yep dissapointing numbers right there. Looks like cows better enjoy this while they still can unfortunately,

360 already beat the original XBOX numbers.
As far as MS is concerned- Mission acomplished. :D And I congratulate them on their success.
and when the Wii price drop hits with Wii Fit Plus and Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers this fall in japan?? moar sales
Sony will make some awesome PS3 Slim bundles guaranteed. (FFXIII, GT5, etc...)

Fixed. Though I would love to see FFVIII rereleased on PSN.
Maybe the different color versions will pick up sales again. It's going to become the console version of the DS...
Is Sony stilll losing a little money on each unit sold? If so, Software sales, not hardware sales, seem a better barometer of the console's success.

Yes. If you google it, quite a few stories come up reporting that. I think PS2 took forever to become profitable as well console wise.

:D Mission accomplished? Selling 4,000 units a week in a top 3 gaming market isn't exactly an accomplishment.[QUOTE="Tony-Baxter"][QUOTE="Ratchet_Fan8"]...eh? 57,056 is that bad >_> its next to the FREAKIN DSi!! mgsbethatgame57,056= now 207,88 = days after price drop. imma let you finish but the ps1 was the best sailing system of all time.... Are you sure it's not the PS2?
Unless you actually meant sailing, in which case I could see the opening PS1 flap be used an effective sail. Mine sank though when I tried it.

for what that xbox sucks I remember when MS was saying they were going to be first place, now they are happy just beating XboxWow...this has to be one of the most misleading threads I have ever seen here on SW.
1) This applies only to Japan...not NA or UK or even world wide sales. Only Japan.
2) Japan releases WEEKLY sales numbers compared to other regions that release monthly sales numbers. So talking about PS3 sales falling sharply like this is like saying the stock market is plummeting based purely on one good day and then one bad day.
3) Article seems to imply that everyone who was waiting for a price drop has already gone out and bought the PS3. Now that nobody else wants the PS3 we can supposedly expect sales to drop back down to what they were before.
4) After talking about slumping sales, the article only ends with the facts...that even with this "sharp fall", the PS3 outsold other consoles by almost 3x for that week and was sold only by the insanely popular DS.
Any price drop will see a sales spike, but I find it highly misleading that this article has to focus on Japans weekly numbers to find a reason to bash PS3 sales. NA and UK monthly numbers aren't even out yet and won't be officially out for the slim until October. Meanwhile, we are approaching the highly anticipated holiday season when consoles see another sales spike. So to act as if the PS3's sales are now done and there is nothing more to see is a lie. Especially since the holiday shopping season starts when? NOvember?
