PS3 UK Sales

PSP holds the record for fastest selling handheld and PS3 holds the record for the fastest selling console.

Let the damage control begin.

not sold out at launch = flop, especially considering the Playstation brand name you fanboys are always bringing up. Guess that brand recoginition isn't as strong as fanboys believe.

If PS3 is a flop because it didnt sold out at launch yet managed to break UK sales record then I dont know what to call the 360 or the Wii over there

seriously - i don't want to sound like a prick but you really have to sit and think about this one a little longer LUIS, you're not making any sense.

major retailers in the UK said that the 360 outpaced the PS3 on launch weekend.. and 360 / Wii preorders smashed the PS3 preorders at all retailers.

i have to say, given what we know now -- all this says is that Sony has fixed their supply issues, nothing more - nothing less.

If nintendo and MS were able to provide adequate supply they would have shattered that figure, especially the Wii.

Apparently it's all about ifs and buts now but i see what your saying.

if you're a sharp cookie you'd realize all this means is something we already know -- Sony is improving it's supply chain. We all know consoles are sitting on shelves across NA.

Given the same supply the Wii and 360 would have broken Sony's balls in terms of sales -- that's a fact. They didn't have the supply to meet Wii pre-orders, just enough for 360, and for the PS3 pre-orders only accounted for just over 50% of sales, and many retailers still have consoles on the shelf.

The only possible good thing you can say about this, despite the attempts to give it a positive spin -- is this. 'Whoah, Sony, you shipped enough console to exceed demand big time -- you number one all time company for games'.

end of thread.

How does this displace the point that the PS3 had a record weekend surpassed only by that of the PSP?
