the whole controller is what has stopped me from buying the ps3

Exactly the same with me with xbox360. the controller is one of the reasons that is making me stay away from that system
Yay, they work. I've played extensively with both controllers and find neither set of triggers to be significantly better than the others.
Nay. I've played significantly with both controllers and prefer the X360's full slide feel much better than the PS3's hinged motion.
EDIT : You shoulda chucked up a poll :)
Nay until Sony realizes the benifit and logic behind a conCAVE design. Otherwise, I don't mind the large base design. It's much more confortable than 360's thin uncomfortable design in the same respect.
the ps3's trigger buttons are just horrible. the 360's controller is superior to dualshock is every way.

I don't think you need a PSN ID to know the controller.....especially when the dualshock 2 gives you 90% of the experience...
otherwise,(ignoring a few opinions here) the 360 isn't too great for D-pad and the battery pack. how the battery pack protrudes at least.
It's not even noticeable after the first time you use it...the whole controller is what has stopped me from buying the ps3

Never had troubles with it so yay

In terms of comfort, I agree with the intial quote about the360 controller being superior but I disagree if it is in terms of responsiveness. The DS3 has it beat there with it's pressure sensitive buttons and minor deadzone on the analog sticks.whats your psn id[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="KarateeeChop"]

your fingers go absolutely nowhere near the battery pack, why should that matter?[QUOTE="HavocV3"][QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"] whats your psn idlamprey263

I like that I can swap rechargeable AA batteries freely instead of running a charge cable from my cabinet.
I'd still take the battery pack over the built-in battery of the DS3, but my 'perfect' controller would build that battery pack in better, but allow me to easily swap out those AA batteries.
Yay. I play games like Burnout Paradise where you are constantly using them for gas and reverse and FIFA games where you use R2 to sprint and have no problems. I prefer them to the 360's but I can still use that controller with no problems.
They are not triggers.
R1 is the one true shoot option, its been that way since before the PS2.
Why change now for 360 fanboys.
R1 >>> R2
dercoo
they must be, otherwise they wouldn't act like triggers.....would they.
yep, and that's why they should have stayed with the old L2/R2. shooting with R1 always worked great on the DS2.
not to mention some multiplat games influenced by the 360 controller now stick you with those crappy 'not-triggers'
Ive used every single controller since Nintendo and I have to say they are JUST fine...nothing wrong with them at all. Anyone that nitpicks them (espeically people who dont buy a system BECAUSE of them)are trying to find ways to not like the PS3. Ive never been playing a game whether it be shooter or RPG or TPS and said to myself "Man if only the triggers were better". Nope.
It needs them. I absolutely hate those shoulder buttons for playing shooters. Resistance and Killzone were decent games, but the controller gave me fits.
