[QUOTE="Dualshockin"]Let's see how well the Wii will be selling this time next year,I believe all Mario games will be out,Metroid,as well as Zelda. GT5,is what will reconfirm the fact that Sony are without a doubt the most powerful and competitive videogame company to date.dhjohns

You see, the key to enjoy a PS3 is to constantly wait, Wait and wait even more...

[QUOTE="Dualshokin"]By 2009,HD will be the dominant format across the board,HD movies,HD televisions,HD gaming, you name it.Now ask yourself:How many years will the Ps3 have left in it's life by then? Many.Dualshockin

And yet, by this time, it will be horribly outdated, hardware wise, by the PC.

The Pc is not in direct competition with the Ps3,thus the only console which will be considered outdated in 2009 will most likely be the console with the least features that are becoming more mainstream then.Wii and 360 come to mind.

The Wii and the 360 will also be outdated, but they DON'T have a 10 year plan. The PC IS in competition with the PS£, as long as the console produces games.

The potential will be released when? 2009, or 2010? By 2012 we'll probably be ready for the next set of consoles, THAT'S when the true HD era will begin. The PS3 isn't suited for today's audience. It's a machine of the future, that belongs in the future. Sony made a mistake. They will take some major loses for it too.

Sony SAYS the PS3 has a 10 year plan. Who do they think they're kidding. When Microsoft and Nintendo release thier systems in 6 or 7 years, they will have consoles that is even more advanced than that of the PS3. What will Sony do? Stay back just to stay true to thier word? Yeah right.

Sony said the PS3 is futureproof, but then again, Sony says a lot of stuff.

I understand some people want the Blu-Ray drive taken out, I don't. However, having Sony take out the HDD is the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. I like it when devs have the ability to think outside the box because they have the standard HDD to work with.

You're right, but I feel PS3's support nearer the end of this 10 years will be simmilar to that of the PS2 support now.

[QUOTE="Dualshockin"][QUOTE="TripleXAlexXx"]Blu-Ray wouldn't be the engine. Blu-ray would be the gas tank. I'd rather stop for gas after driving for several hours than have a gas tank that's bigger than the actual size of the car. It's simply not needed, nor does it really help. A gas tank that big slows the car down, too.Dualshockin

Without Blu-ray,the future of HD entertainment is bleak. This is why companies such as Sony and Disney,to name a few,are supporting it 100% of the way. The sole reason people choose to bash Blu-ray is because it has not become standard.Expect the tide to turn late 2008,when 36" HDTV'S cost no more than $450,Pirates,Harry Potter,Shrek, and Spiderman are available, etc.

Ehh... as long as the good games come, and I have an awesome overall gaming experience with the ps3, i don't care what they do, what they use, or what they change, because it'll be worth it. I just hope it happens that way.

BTW: I downloaded this months firmware update this morning, but I didn't notice anything different. Do you know what the changes were?

They will come,it has only been 7 months since the Ps3 launched, the whole "Ps3 is doomed forever!" talk is mere online exaggeration.Ninja Gaiden: Sigma will be a great game for you and your friends for the Summer holidays, the graphics are superb and the gameplay offered is simply not available on any system to date. I didn't know there was an update released this month,I thought the last one was in May?

Yeah there was an update. I got the one in may, but this morning Ibooted up my console and it said a new system update was available. I downloaded it, but I don't notice anything different at all.... Maybe it was for the people in the Home beta? Or just some slight changes.

But anyways... I'm not looking forward to sigma too much... I played the demo, and while it's a great game, it's also the same game i played through 2 and a half time. I still like it, but i'm not pshyched or anything. I'm really looking forward to Uncharted. I have faith that the game will deliver, especially after the videos. There are some others I'm looking forward to as well.

I just wish Sony would get a move on. I know it has potential, and the material is coming, but I don't want to wait! Do you? That's my only real complaint.

price cut. big one.

a) redesign the system

PS3 V2 ( for the oppressed masses)

1) Full Backward Compatibility (PS2)

2) SAME CELL. SAME RSX. SLIMER.

3) NO BLURAY DRIVE. NO HDD.

4) 2GB FLASH BASED STORAGE (CACHING / SAVING)

5) Standard DVD DRIVE.

6) VGA / DVI / S-VIDEO OUT

7) retail price: $299

b) redesign the Philosophy

out of the box next gen experience (ditch the hd gaming nonsense)

800 x 600 + 2XAA mandatory for all games

looks good on LDTV

looks good on HDTV

makes the system a viable option

fanboy tears T__T

BUT WHAT ABOUT BLU RAY?!!!

-keep the current mess / for the hardcore cinefile "elite"

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 50GB GAMES?!!!

- SPOUT BS ABOUT A NEW / REVOLUTIONARY / PATENTED / NEVER BEFORE SEEN / DATA -TEXTURE COMPRESSION ALGORITHM

DEVELOPED BY SNY FOR "THE CELL" THAT ONLY WORKS FOR DECOMPRESSING GAMES AND GET THIS. NOT MOVIES.

Sony does this and it has a chance ( not againt the wii, 2 late)

machitocaliente

sony does this. and they are dead sooner.

only the price cut part if right
