PS3s superior Technology will shine in 09

So what you do is, extract the CELL from the PS3 and stick it in a blender along with your favorite muscle building protien. *BLEND* Then serve over ice. Go out and race a mule and lose.

With games like KZ2, Uncharted 2 , GOW3, Heavy Rain PS3 is going to put its self in a class of its own why others play catch up. This is where the superior technology in the PS3 will finally pay off.djsifer01

Heavy Rain looking good has more to do with its genre than the hardware it runs on - for the same reason why the Myst games were usually the best looking games of their times.

We'll have to wait and see, for two years we have been hearing how the PS3 will shine, it has yet to happen. Though this year would be a good year to get passed the 360 as 09 doesn't seem to bright so far for Xbox fans, though it is still very early to determine the release schedule or the quality of games released for a whole year. Maybe a surprise will happen and the Wii will release some quality games (I can hope as my Wii collects dust in the corner :()

Ps3 had a great 2008, enjoyed many great exclusives... did it shine or outdo what other consoles offered, well who knows its always down to personal preferences...

I had a great year by what the systems i own had to offer..... 2009?? so far seems like PS3 & PSP will have some amazing titles coming out while am still waiting for some announcements for games out on 360..

Well lets see here best FPS of 2009 - killzone 2 on ps3, best action/adventure of 2009 - Uncharted 2 on ps3, best racing game of 2009 - GT5 on ps3, best new online game in DLC form which would be the agency, best fighting game either SF4 or Tekken 6 which both are multiplat, best rpg probably FFXIII which is multiplat but then again maybe FFXIII versus or an exclusive rpg will carry those honors.

So far looks so good the only thing that I can think that ps3 won't have is best strategy game which goes to empire total war. It might not be such a bad idea for sony to try to get SEGA to put that game on PS3 as an exclusive after its released on pc.

2008 for ps3 was a better good year and it seems ps3 is picking up momentum due to exclusive games but not only were they exclusive games they were completely new IP's such as Valkyrie Chronicles and Little Big Planet. I can't help but wonder that maybe sony had a little more to do with those games turning out as well as they did then how much help they normally give to the avg game released on the ps3.

In 09 we are going to see some of the most graphicly WOW factor games to date. No we wont be seeing them on 360 but the superior PS3. it is finally Sonys turn to shine and put them selfs were they belong #1. This is becoming an annual tradition.

Every year, after cows realize that the PS3 did not catch up with the 360, and after horrible NPD numbers for Sony are released, cows promise that something will be made clear the following year. It's kinda like a console new years resolution...that never is resolved in the end. I think last year you guys promised that the PS3 would pass the 360 in sales. This year you guys guarantee GRAPHICLY WOW FACTORS. Cool.

Start making a list of possible things to promise us next year.

I didn't think the post was that biased but you can view it any way you want. As for best well its just a basic prediction based on how the games in those series have done in the past and how much time, money, effort, etc I have heard about the games. I would say the odds of GT5 being released in 09 are 80% due to the demand of ps3 userbase and the company making GT5 needs the money by this point in time after several years of production on the game. I would say at the latest GT5 will be out in spring of 2010.

I would be surprised if GT5 didn't get released in 2009. Times are hard right now for just about everybody and they gotta be running low on money by now. Since they are running low on money who's gonna loan them more money? I don't think they can afford to wait two more years to release the game at this point in time.

How ironic then that just as the PS3 starts to pick up mumentum as far as games are concerned, they lose all sales momentum (of both consoles and games).

I guess thats what you get when you turn a game console into a movie player. Way to go Sony.

Its called a recession. I would say the ps3 should sale better in 2009 seeing as 2008 picked up momentum in the games department it should continue to push that even further which should increase sales in the future. In the long run blu ray should help sony as it is already starting to show.

I'm sure the ps3 will drop their price sometime in the not too distant future which should increase sales since all that really seems to matter any more is the price of the console. Meanwhile I'm sure the MS will be thinking well I think its time to lower the price of the 360 but I kind of think its in sony's best interest to just keep lowering the price of the ps3 till the point where MS is lossing too much money per console sold of course this has a negative effect on sony as well since their console is the most expensive but you need to have more sales. I'm not too concerned about the sales because I think sony will just continue to exist as they have and as long as the games get better each year I could care less who gets to play them and who doesn't just as long as I get to. Whether sony exist in 10 years maybe they will maybe they won't but ps3 will last for a few more years and by that time I will have gotten my money's worth.

Another thing to keep in mind is MS is no position to release another console anytime soon because people want to get their moneys worth for at least 5 years if not more. If MS does release a new console then it will only cost more and may not sell very well at all. Meanwhile sony's ps3 continues to improve in the quality of games released each year not that the 360 doesn't just not as much as the exclusives in this case show. So as each year goes by the 360 exclusives look less and less good compared to ps3.

Well, that is one positive way to look at things. I can't fault you for thinking this way. I got my money's worth with my Dreamcast and my original Xbox even if those machines did not enjoy a very long life.

I think Sony is in trouble, but by the time the caca hits the fan, yes, you will have probably gotten your money's worth. For a normal person this is an acceptable situation, but for an extreme PS3 fanboy, it will be the end of the world.

Another thing to keep in mind is that even though MS lowers the price of the 360 they still charge the same amount for Live. I think a ps3 at $300 beats a 360 at $150 simply due to MS charging for the online price. I personally think ps3 would do very well at $300 because of that. I can't see MS selling the 360 for $100. So unless MS changes the terms for xbl than I don't see them with as much of a price advantage.
