I will continue subscribing to PS+* as long as the features are good for PS3 users. I do not want to buy access to any online multiplayer, so I may refrain from renewing my subscription when support for the PS3 ceases.

Not spending the extra coin on a feature I rarely, and I mean rarely, use. As long as they take out the required online trophy to Plat with this, I'm good with their decision to charge for their network. I also don't have a lot of spare hobby time, so all those free games aren't worth the expense. If my free time expands down the road, and they still offer tons of free titles, I might try it out.

Not only worth playing online, but online greatly enhance experience. Go from good game to amazing.Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, UC 2 and UC 3 are all only worth playing for the multiplayer aspects arguably, so you'd be losing out on most of the experience.

I used to pay for xbl and had PS+ for a while so I don't think it will be devastating to pay for games again, but I'm not a fan of doing it. Gonna have to be a good game for me to pay for some online games when I can just play on steam for free.jer_1
Nothing beats PC lmao but psn plus is the best deal on console. The instant games collection is worth the price of the service all by itself.
I'm getting PSN+ for sure, Ive paid for Live for the past 6 years, time to show Sony some love. Heil68

Where are all the people who claimed "You already pay for internet, Microsoft is ripping you off!" They seem to be pretty quiet about online play being restricted to paying members.

1) Sony has stated that they dont require PS+ for all online games. They are letting publishers and developers decide if they want to put their online game behind the PS+ paywall. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/13/ps4-publishers-decide-if-free-to-play-needs-ps-plus
2) Games labeled as free do not require PS+ to play them. Dc universe online, warframe, planetside 2 and so on which are free games can be played online without having to pay for PS+ http://www.joystiq.com/2013/06/17/ps4-planetside-2-dc-universe-online-will-not-require-playstatio/
3) Netflix, internet access, cross game chat and so on do not require ps+ http://www.gamechup.com/ps4-playstation-plus-details-cross-game-chat-doesnt-require-the-service/ and http://www.gamesradar.com/playstation-plus-not-needed-netflix-f2p-multiplayer-ps4/
The original argument was based on the fact that sony was giving its customers for free what microsoft was charging for. There is no argument now that they both are charging. But even still sony is still giving users things for free that microsoft is charging for.
Sony still has a drastic edge in the value department. For 50 bucks PS+ has 18 games instantly, 5 new games a month, discounts on the PSN store and a lot more while microsoft charges 60 bucks a year and only gives 2 games a month.
But as I showed above, sony is not locking everything online behind the PS+ paywall while microsoft is.
Exactly, Sony still has the advantage. Id much rather pay for PS+ then XBLI just signed up to PS+ this week and I am happy to say I have 7 free games.
Hell yeah I will be staying with PS+! The deals are great! Just never go to the rip off US store. EU account for getting those sweet deals.
I kinda think they will lower the quality of free games on the PS4 but, enjoy what you have and after all, they are free. Nevermind the kickass discounts.
Do I want to pay M$ $60 to use Netflix or pay Sony $50 for $2000 worth of games a year. Tough call but I think I'll go with PS+.
ITT: Cow's willingly accept that being milked by $ony is a good thing, as long as they get "perks".The_Pacific
One Year of PlayStation Plus Value In Free Games: $1854.86
Yeah if being milked means getting all my money back and then some. Sure.

I have PS+ already and even if you didint have to have it for online for PS4 I would still have it. PS+ i such a great service. Although it still blows that you need it for online for ps4 since others arent that intersted in PS+.
I will be getting a PS4, and I will be keeping my PS+ membership. I really don't play online that much, but $50 a year for all the games and discounts they give you is too good to pass up.
Got PS+ a week ago and I think it's great value for what you get I opted for a years worth so I'm set for PS4.
There really is no reason to complain about paying for ps+ because if you think about it, per day it costs about 18 cents.
unless you're getting ps4 to play a free mmo like planetside 2 how could you not buy psn+ lol makes no sense.silversix_A lot of gamers are strictly SP and offline players, so paying for ps+ isn't required.
Getting PS+. I like to play co-op games like Borderlands online and some competitive multiplayer. I'm really not bothered by the price or the principle.
It is. People are bringing up the value because of the deals but some of us just want to play online. So frusterating.Ok I thought pay to play online is a rip-off!

I am getting a PS4 with probably no PSN+...I just don't find any worth in it besides how they now made online multi a feature by taking it away. That being said, I don't play many online multi games(really just DOA and that's ever so rarely) so I should be fine

Is it worth it to you if the online infastructure is better?
I'll probably get PSN+ but not right away.

I'm primarily a single player gamer. Yeah, I know multiplayer is all the rage nowadays but us sp types exist too you know. Also I already have my internet bill, so I'm reluctant to add another on top of that as well (especially since I can use my PC for mp games as well).
That said, PSN+ isn't terribly expensive, and it seems like a decent deal since you get free games...so I might as well.
Why wouldn't I get a service which adds a lot of value to the console? Seems a bit stupid to me.soulitane
It is. People are bringing up the value because of the deals but some of us just want to play online. So frustrating. That's pretty much my boat I don't care about the deals and prefer physical copies even without my data cap, lucky not everything will be behind a PSN+ pay wall and will be left up to the publishers which means just EA and probably Activision. It will be interesting to see what publishers do especially those in direct competition with other similar games coming out as most people will pick the one without the PSN pay wall.[QUOTE="xhawk27"]
