PS4: Fastest selling console ever

I wonder why it hasn't touched the first page on Amazons best sellers in a Month almost.

Puzzling. It received a spike for the TLOU / GTA5 bundle then disappeared like a wounded animal.

Amazon did say the bundle would be back in stock on the 5th of December. Looks like it's missing in action.

EDIT: With even the MCC whooping its ass by 10 places 22>32.

I just went back and looked at Amazon best sellers. Man there's a lot of the color green on there.

I guess it's a hard sell, but I do honestly feel this way. Gen 5 and Gen 6 were so good because gamers were all under a single umbrella for all intents and purposes. Gen 7 had way way way fewer games because the fanbases were pretty much evenly split amongst three different hardware (one being completely topsy turvy from a control and gameplay aspect).

When one console doesn't mop the floor with the competition, we all suffer. Developers have to spend more time (think in terms of a console's lifetime) porting code to different systems than they could simply making an entire new game or two. Competition is good for the hardware crown because we never know when someone is going to pull a Wii, PS3 or an XBone with their console design and really screw things up. (Yes, I put all three of those in the same category, shoot me.) However, the "Winner takes all" has usually served gamers quite well. The only generation being an exception was SNES vs Genesis and the entire ecosystem of publishers and developers simply will not allow for that to happen again unfortunately. That, and Atari had the good sense to gracefully bow out with the Jaguar rather than... oh.. dump hundreds of millions of dollars into marketing, bundling and price slashing to try to turn it into something despite the market having a clear reaction to the product.

So, I have to stick to this. The sales themselves aren't fun, and perhaps I'm not making the distinction clear for the sake of lols and wots. The sales way is absolutely droll. However, as long as there is one player in the game who has infinite moneyhacks as their only trick, I will boo that player right to oblivion. Halo is a cock up, now. Ensemble is closed. Dom is dead. Rare is a cum rag petrified from abuse. The brand has dry spells for years at a time. They haven't apologized for Always-online DRM. They haven't apologized for using the gaming press as their stooge for bad news. Worst of all, they haven't apologized to Nintendo for dumping the bone so hard that the WiiU doesn't even register in the top 100 of Amazon.

The sales war is not fun. One day, when such an incredibly disbalancing force goes back to what it actually does well (PC and PC gaming) I think the sales war will disappear over night. Until then. System Wars is gonna War.

I was a gamer long before Playstation, and if the brand ends, I will be a gamer long after Playstation. Try as you might, though, far be it from me to convince an XBox One owner they are trying to jam a square peg into a round hole.

The worst thing that could happen for all of you die-hard Lemmings, is for it to come through the wash that I honestly rag the XBone because it does offend me as a gamer. I'll be here, one bright sunny morning, probably long after generation 8 or even 9 or 10 has come to a close and it will all make sense to you.

The only reason the wii sold so much was because of Oprah. She hyped up the console and everyone bought it. Sony could easily pay Oprah to hype up the PS4 and it would easily outsell the wii. The Wii didn't accomplish anything. Once the casuals realized the Wii was a cheap gimmick and fad they went back to playing Angry Birds and Candy Crush, plus waggle was and still remains merely as a backseat to traditional controls.

On the other hand, PS4's impact on the videogame industry is going to be monumental for years to come, just like the other Playstations that came before it.

I think we are in the last generation of consoles. It's all going to go cloud based. Gaming will become a service. I feel like MS is in the lead over Sony in this area. Mostly because the Azure cloud is POWAH-FUL. But MS and Sony aren't the only contestants in the battle.

NVidia is making a claim to Gaming as a Service.

Undeserved. But the Wii started this trend of the actual games lineup not really being a factor in how a system sales. The only real innovation that system brought to the table, and one I could have lived without.
