I guess Sony just doesn't want my money.
Sometimes they just take it without persmission anyway like they did to me recently
I was able to get the free trial, but I can't even change my password. Every time I try to change it through email, I get: An error has occurred. Their fucking support is only open from 6 am to 10 pm. How the hell does a 24/7 service only provide support for a limited number of hours? Especially one that people tend to fucking pay for? This is one of the worst experiences with an online account I've ever encountered. I'm probably never going to buy another Playstation product again due to this garbage.
Here's a copied version of my recent experience from a thread the other day: Basically, i had turned off auto renew for my PS+ account because i knew it wouldnt be in use.
The payment came out of paypal on a morning. I knew 100% that i had cancelled it when i bought it, because i knew i wouldn't be playing my PS4 in july for reasons. When the payment went through i noticed on my phone by a paypal notification so sent an email on the PS website, which they replied to saying "request denied because it was purchased a month ago". I was at work and logged into the PS account on the PC, there is no way to manage your subscriptions anymore, it must be done through the console.
When i looked online at how the auto renew have come back on, i saw this has happened to other people who turned off auto-renew when there has been a firmware update (which there had been recently), it can switch it back on. this is F****g naughty right?
So i phoned customer service on the way home. the guy on the phones attitude was terrible. claiming "according to his screen" i had tried to cancel a subscription that day (right before i phoned). I explained that i had been on my PC at work and that there is no way to alter your subscriptions via PC, you have to do it from the console. yet he wasn't having any of it and wouldn't accept what i was trying to tell him. So then i asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me that nobody was available and it can take up to 2 weeks to receive a call back from one! I said, christ, how many problems do you have? i asked him to remove all my credit card and paypal info, which he did.
A few days later, i got an email from a supervisor (not a phone call as requested) that my request for a refund wasn't approved. Luckily the sub came from paypal and i had already requested a refund through their system, it was refunded anyway.
Then, weeks later when i wanted to check what movies were on the PS store, i couldn't log in to my account. I raised a support ticket and got another email saying that my account was in arrears for £8 or whatever. i told them they were a joke and that was the end of that relationship.
It wasn't about the money, it was about the principal and complete lack of customer care or any goodwill from sony that has made me dump the PS4.
