Post your pc specs, do you believe the ps4 will be more powerfull than your pc?

Future hardware will be more powerful than past hardware, who would have guessed.
I put it to you that 2015 PCs are going to walk all over the PS4 :P
My specs:
CPU- Core i7 930 @ 2.80 GHz
Motherboard- ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366
CPU Cooler- CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus
RAM- Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 SDRAM
Hard Drive- Samsung Spinpoint 500GB (7200 RPM)
OS- Windows 7 Professional (64-bit)
Video Card- EVGA GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB
PSU- Corsair TX Series 950W (Bronze Certified)
Hmm...could be.
Depends what the specs of the PS3 are. It should be more powerful than my current PC, seeing as I've only upgraded the GPU in the last 2 years. :P
Hard to say. By the time PS4 comes out I will have upgraded to Bulldozer and a 600 series GeForce at least. I'm gonna go with no, but none of us here know what the specs on the PS4 would be.
One could assume they would go with an ARM processor and save money by going the BluRay route again. If they were determined to launch at the $600 price range again, that gives them plenty of money to blow on memory and graphics. Of course, the subject itself should bare some mention that a console doesn't need to be as powerful as a PC to perform well due to the streamlined device OSes they use compared to some full blown Linux or Windows distribution.
I do tend to completely refresh my PC hardware about every four or five years, though, so definitely within the lifetime of owning the PS4 I will have a PC that will demolish it.
Depends on if they go the Wii route, and I don't know anything about business decisions being made or yet to be made in Sony.
The thing about all the current gen consoles, is they got their GPUs from PC, so they will only be as powerful as the hardware available/in development for PC.
Given the time between setting the hardware in stone, and it hitting shop shelves, more powerful hardware becomes available on PC around the consoles launch period. So the figures they boast during the introduction conference are meaningless, because it's not going to be X times more powerful than the best PC; by the time the console comes out.
i7 950
6GB DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD 6GB TransferRate
Nvidia 460GTX Overclocked
I'd say next gen systems will be more powerful than my setup, yes... less RAM probably, and maybe a weaker or comparable CPU... but almost definately will have a more powerful GPU.
You also have to consider the costs of making the new systems as well. Sure they could put dual 580's with 6 gigs of ram(exaggeration), but will that be cost efficient to produce 5million units at launch for $500?
I fully expect next gen systems to cost as much if not more than the ps3 launch price. I wouldn't complain due to what the systems could do at that point, but this is system wars and isnt owning a console suppose to be the cheap way to play games?
core i7 920 @ 3.2 GHz 6 GB G Skill AMD 6850 x2 - Crossfire 40 GB SSD drvie 280 MB/s read/write. 4 320 GB raid 10 100 Watt PSU Black Magic HD Capture Card Antec 900 II Case To answer your question, my PC today will beat the PS4.Post your pc specs, do you believe the ps4 will be more powerfull than your pc?

Yeah it will be. Then again I remember when I bought my comp it was already stronger than the PS3 (before the PS3 even launched). PS3 was outdated on arrival.
Espada12
ofcourse. beefier console would cost too much. you just can't make a supercomputer with $500.
Than my PC? Oh yeah, my pc is 6 years old, my other pc is 2 years old, and then my newest pc is 2 weeks old. All the signs put to yes.
Though if you mean gaming pcs, brandnew whenever the PS4 specs are announced... lol, not a chance.

Yet with this knowledge Hermits still brag about PC graphics, as if they're doing something.

Because console gamers never brag about graphics?
Yes, until I upgrade my computer. Then I win.
I'll end up with more processor cores, high memory clocks, more efficient instructions, wider data buses...the usual improvements.
Since we're not likely to see a PS4 for 3 or 4 years, it's not even going to be a fair comparison. But then the PS4 will have to last 20 years due to its insane development costs and we PC gamers are all using DNA-based computers by the time of the PS5...

There's a console graphics king thread right now. and the irony is that it was started by the same user "stark" :lol:probably. im thinking of the latest UE tech demo from epic..they mentioned that it was running on 3 570s in SLI but they could get it running on one with a bit of work. thats the ballpark MS and sony will be going for with the PS4 and 720 i think (around the 1x570 mark...though exact hardware config is unknown of course). epic wouldnt make that kind of progress if they thought no console would be able to use it next gen. so yea more than likely. a 570 beats my 5850.osan0
Unreal Engine 4 is actually being developed for next gen consoles (along with PC), so i guess we're not gonna see only Wii-copies next gen ;)
next gen consoles will most likely run all games in 1080p.
Im running 8gig of memory and EVGA GeForce GTX460SE video. I doubt next gen will top even this modest rig.
CPU- AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2 Ghz Quad-Core
GPU- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1 GB
RAM- G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2x2) DDR3
Motherboard- ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 870 SATA 6 Gb/s
HD- Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB 7200 RPM
OS- Windows 7 Home Edition
It all depends on how powerful Sony wants to make the PS4.
I hope they put some RAM on them this time... Seriusly putting only 512 ram was an idiotic choice 6 years agoLookAnDrolL
Consoles take the streaming approach to memory management, so I doubt they will be offering PC like capacity next gen. They will choose small amounts of high speed memory, like they normally do.
