PS4 Overheating & Red Line of Death

Link? Neither of my launch 360's have RRoD. But one of my three launch PS3's YLOD. It depends on how you treat your consoles.

Demo stations for PS3 and 360 are also in a small box, like in Best Buy stores. Yet those don't overheat, nice try.

Nice to know Sony has our backs once again. Not letting the hardware overheat is a good thing and comes form the by gamers, for gamers mantra that Sony lives by.

That would be amusing to have the Playstation this gen suffer all the hardware malfunctions, and the Microsoft console not suffer any.

I would totally expect a console in a small plastic box to overheat, but at least it has a warning with a physical representation in case your TV is not on, so you can remedy the problem. I'm willing to bet once it hits a certain threshold it will also shut itself off, similar to the X1 and 360 slims.

I know my local game store had 360 RRoD in those demo stations, if it was because of no air or something else i dont know...

Yeah I heard about this. This is not surprising because the PS4 has a very tiny fan and small box. Plus the power adapter is inside causing more heating issues. I would be wary of purchasing a PS4 this coming gen.

Yes it was, someone on the up and up in Sony got on twitter and said it was.

You really think treating a console as in not playing on it regularly ? Quality and design has everything to with the 360's horrendous failure rates from 2005-2009..... In my house hold alone have been through five 360's since late 2005. While first and only PS3(2008) is still working to this day. Three RROD, one had E error for general hardware failure and the the last one that failed was a 360 slim with the dvd drive this spring. Out of everyone that I know they are on at least their 3rd xbox 360 replacement/rebuy. Some are on their 4th or 5th while one is on his 6th. the 360 from 2005-2006 had a 54% yearly failure rate for RROD, and that's not including disc drive problems and other issues.

The 360 was a poorly designed console with cheap parts to begin with. and it wasnt until the Jasper revision of the 360 when they finally started to get a handle on RROD.

Not surprised that little PS4 wouldn't be able to cool itself with absolutely no ventilation.

Sony products are usually very reliable. Xbox fans should worry especially with the fiasco that was the RROD this gen

Yet another reason why Xbox One is the superior console! We don't see Xbox One consoles overheating and experiencing console failures, which surely proves that they are taking more care into making them! With this and the delay of a vital exclusive for Sony, it all seems to be falling apart for them yet again!

ill take my chances with Sony .I doubt it will be a big issues when it launches...M$ make shitty console just look at the 360 more then half of their fanbase have the Red lights of Death.
