Truth will come out soon either way. Sucks to be an early adopter and have a faulty unit though. Hopefully Sony makes replacing/fixing the defective units a priority. I would be livid if I paid for a bad unit and had to wait months until it was resolved. Full refund f*ck you I'm taking my money elsewhere livid.

People need to wait before claiming either console has any sort of major hardware issues. Day one problems are one thing but the RROD took time to start effecting consoles and that's the kind of situation neither company wants to be in.
As far as I know it's because the console isn't dead. It simply overheated. Calling something dead when it's not is simply an exaggeration if not a lie.
Golly, now I'm worried!!!11!!! Just like when I got my xbox, had it for less than a month and RROD on me, then another 2 times on top of that? I want to thanks MS for toughing me up on the trails and tribulations of new hardware. Thank you MS.

Launch day and prior is hardly the right time to compare bricked units with RROD.....

Really? You do know that as of right now its confirmed that only .04% of PS4s are considered defective and are projected to be so by the end of this year which is great for a launch. You don't see people making articles showing the normal light of the PS4 because there is nothing exciting about something that is fully functional. You are going to see hardware failure in most cases because thats what usually what makes it newsworthy.
If you want to talk about a failure, talk about the 60% of the failed original Xboxes.. YES thats right 60% not 50% not 20% 60! "I still have my original PS2 fat, suck on that Xbots.
Keep talking like the PS4 is a major fail console when they had a successful launch, im suuure your opinion will actually matter in terms of the PS4's durability.
Oh for the record, I am not a fanboy of any console. I have a gamer PC, and its likely imma eventually own a PS4 and Xbox One but when people focus on the 0.04% then things get a bit out of hand.
Just had my cousin call sony about his PS4 not displaying any signal through the hdmi port. They suggested he swap it in store if there's any in stock, if not they will overnight him a return box...
I told him he can't complain, this is what early adopters get. You can't be angry when this stuff happens, it's bound to with so many consoles being released.

Killzone and Knack flopped, the PS4 cant sit flat,just wobbles. and reports of the PS$ getting the white line of death. Not a good launch imo.
Your opinions of what I am are irrelevant to the point I was trying to make... Secondly, everyone knows since the dawn of time that any system launch has bad batches, rushed release dates, every system ever made had their fair share of launch failures. And that slavery scandal doesn't help much in terms of Sony's case "don't be fooled, Microsoft does it too, they just didn't get caught".
I am not sure over a 3.60% increase in Sony's hardware development stocks is considered a failure, with each stock being priced over $1000 I can imagine how much money the launch of the PS4 has earned Sony which is what I might consider a successful launch...
Well just have to wait and see if Sony addresses this 0.04% which the gaming media keeps focusing on. Also if you really care about some wobble on a gaming device, you need to get your head examined.
Every piece of electronic hardware has failures where some kind of error light is displayed. Why is this news? Will see the same thing in a few weeks with the Xbox One.

I would be worried about the XB1 if we had heard about overheating or any kind of issues from journalist or developers, but we have heard a thing. Those people have had retail XB1's for over 3 weeks now. They were also using retail XB1's at Gamescom & EuroGamer events and not a peep of any real major problems. So we'll see.

What Yoshida meant was that it's not "death", after it cools it works, the console is not dead just over heated, many electronic devices self-power down when they get too hot.

You're joking, right? it sucks for those with faulty units, I hope mine is good, but this happens, difference is that everyone is connected these days, anyone can complain about broken shit, shit spreads fast on twitter and facebook, we didn't have this early last gen.
