It pretty much is now with today's 2.7 update with in-game video/voice chat with 16 people and in-game text chat. I don't see any advantages of Xlive now.

Actually Live is still better. All we got was cross game text chat, and a few things that are not so useful. Xbox live still has more to it and is still a more user-friendly service.

More user-friendly yes, but you can do anything on PSN as on xlive now. You didn't mention the video chat with 16 players that's in-game now.

Funny how PS3 is taking all these years to get things that were available on 360 since November 2005! future proof

Wait i thought cows dont care about features 'all i want to do is play a game online' now they cant seem to stop asking for them, on XBL i rarely see myself saying 'wow XBL really needs this' and one must also remember the spring update soon which will further make PSN look lackluster.

PSN is now better. Not equal. PSN has:

1) the best multiplayer graphics.

2) best multiplayer sounds.

3) best way to create and share user generated contents.

4) Most relaxing/soothing game.

5) Most fair multiplayer cometition--no host advantage as in LIVE.

6) largest multiplayer HD battles.

7) I can go on.

The point is the bells and whistles of LIVE don't equal the advantages of PSN. Remember LIVE is limited by Xbox 360's inferior hardware.

Nah, Live is a lot more user friendly, and still has more features. It's also more convenient.

I'll spend my 8 pennies a day on that instead.

lol, PSN get's text messaging and now you think it's on par with XBL? Let me know when you have cross game invites, voice chat among 8 people, a more integrated online experience, standard online features across ALL games, updates that don't take several minutes, etc. Then, and only then, will PSN be more on par with XBL.

Your #1 should be xlive is $50 per ID and PSN is unlimited IDs free. #2 should be you buy a PSN game once and can share it free with 4 other PS3s and xlive doesn't allow this.

From the source: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/04/01/ps3-firmware-v270-update/

"The 2.70 update brings a new Text Chat feature that enables you to communicate online with your PlayStation Network friends. Now, you'll be able to chat with up to 15 online friends"

No video/voice chat.

You get what you pay for. IMO, I'll continue to pay for XBL but it it's current state I wouldn't be willing to pay for PSN. And I'm sure the game developers looooove know one person pays for a game and 4 others get it for free. No offense, but Sony is losing exclusives left and right, the last thing they should be doing is irritating the developers (further).

Where to begin. I won't address the video/voice chat of PSN as I've never used the feature. In regard to unlimited ID's, the same goes for XBL. People keep forgetting you can sign up for a silver account with it's own GT, acheivements, downloads, etc. lol, and I wasn't aware I had to pay for "auto game saves".

what? you dnt need to pay for a profile on 360 all my siblings have accounts i only pay for live as im the only one that goes online. PSN is not of the level of Live accept it your better of saying 'you dont care about features' thans saying PSN = XBL.

Spoken like someone who doesn't own a 360.

XBL Silver accounts (FREE) can have their own trophies and game saves as well.

Of all the points you could have made, you choose the one that's false.

Yes, because Me buying a game and downloading it and letting my 2 brother in laws log in to my account and download all of them for free is terrible. Sony needs to be like MS and start controlling everything and charging for everything. Being a little nice and lenient so your gamers don't feel like they're soaked for $$$ every which way possible is a terrible thing. Sony makes less than M$ makes because they're fair.

It's not a joke. You have to deal with the fact that LIVE is limited by Xbox 360's hardware, which is inferior to the PS3's. Those multiplats that look better than the PS3 versions, the differences are very, very small--most reviewers will tell you that you can't even see them until you look very, very closely. The very minor differences are only because developers use the 360 as the main platform and then port it to the PS3. If they start with the PS3, then it would be a different story. The thing is you are changing the subject...we are talking about LIVE vs. PSN. PSN is the place for best looking, best sounding, etc. contents. PSN is not only free, it's better.

For a Fee$$, you got it M$ has thought of every way to make money on everything possible thing with the 360. Amazing you people put up with it and it's 360s failing left and right for over 3 years. I had a 360 for 8 months and it got a failed HDD followed by RRoD and the replacement was freezingevery 15-20 mins. I wised up!

Well if you're all about people downloading games for free, then I don't expect to see a post from you complaining that Sony lost another exclusive or that another developer decided to not make games for PSN and instead develops for XBL/Wii. Deal?

I love how Sony keeps updating the PS3 like that, this way XBL could eventually become totally free.

Buy a 360 and a PS3 put them side by side and put a dvd in the 360 and a bluray movie in the PS3. PS3 advantage.

Take a 360 game and a PS3 game and see how easily you can scratch a 360 disc and a PS3 disc. PS3 advantage gained.

Then try to hook up WiFI on 360 and PS3, try to web browse, upgrade each one's HDD as high as possible and compare the capacity and price. 500gb PS3 for $120 360 160 gb HDD $120, insert a disc into each and see which is better PS3 auto discdrive or 360 disctray, sign up 5 people on PSN and 5 on Xlive, PSN = $0 xlive = $250. Get the picture!!!

Sorry to burst your bubble tc, but we still don't have in game video/voice chat.

It pretty much is now with today's 2.7 update with in-game video/voice chat with 16 people and in-game text chat. I don't see any advantages of Xlive now.

I love how Sony keeps updating the PS3 like that, this way XBL could eventually become totally free.

lebanese_boy

No, it'll just keep getting people to defend the 360 even though it's abvious that the PS3 has way more to it for less. 360 controllers use AA batteries and PS3 is rechargeable, PS3 has WiFI, PS3 web browser, Bluray HD movie player, auto disc drive, on and on, but it doesn't matter.

LOL LEMMINGS

IF MULTIPLATFORMS WERE CREATED ON PS3 THEN THEY cant be ported on 360 because it is inferior.

They have to create it on 360 so it can run on both.

BTW PSN > live.

Why? because im not paying to play online lol

Exactly, if created on PS3 first then it wouldn't work on a 3 processor system after being created on a 7 processor system.

Steam is miles better than PSN, not just because it's free, but because I get updates and DLC for free, rather than having to pay for it on PS3/360.

I'm sorry, I'm not a console gamer, but when this arguement comes up, I just love rubbing it in:D

They aren't equal, they're different. Each service has advantages over the other.

[QUOTE="GeneralMLD"][QUOTE="teemany"][QUOTE="GeneralMLD"] joke post confirmed. Live > PSN. 360 inferior hardware? It just happens to still get superior multiplats like RE5...........what does that say about ur future proof  PS3?

It's not a joke. You have to deal with the fact that LIVE is limited by Xbox 360's hardware, which is inferior to the PS3's. Those multiplats that look better than the PS3 versions, the differences are very, very small--most reviewers will tell you that you can't even see them until you look very, very closely. The very minor differences are only because developers use the 360 as the main platform and then port it to the PS3. If they start with the PS3, then it would be a different story. The thing is you are changing the subject...we are talking about LIVE vs. PSN. PSN is the place for best looking, best sounding, etc. contents. PSN is not only free, it's better.

ur delusional. Live still surpasses PSN, despite what you may think. I think your just upset your bought a future proof console, yet it isnt #1 in online. Thats interesting..............Sony positions the PS3 as #1 in everything it does........yet it cant stack up with online services. And I bet that rocks you to your core as a fanboy.

Why am I delusional? To me, graphics, sounds, multiplayer size, less lag, the ability to create/share contents, web surfing, etc. make the PSNs advantages better than LIVE's. I mean, most people when they play, they don't talk or chat with firends playing different games anyways. But the sighs, sounds, number of players in the game, lag-free--all PSN's advantages are all there, all the time.

I can't figure! The Wii is blowing them both out and it's way further behind the PS3 than the 360. Why is the Wii outselling both of them? Go figure?
