This is the worst argument that people always bring up with Playstation Plus. Everyone always complains about losing all their free stuff if they cancel their account. Do you realize this would be the equivalent of saying Netflix or Gamefly is horrible because once you cancelled your subscription with them they stopped sending you disc in the mail?
The $50 isn't paying for the games just like your Netflix/Gamefly sunbscription isn't paying for you to keep getting discs even after you cancel your sub.
tormentos
And this article is a completely inaccurate way of looking at PSN+. You're right, it is the equivalent to something like Netflix. And this article is the equivalent to someone getting the retail price for every DVD, BluRay, Game etc. available on netflix and totalling it, then saying thats how much you're saving. Complete nonsense.
How is complete nonsense.? You pay for a membership on Sams to get discounts,in fact PSN + is better because you get free stuff, which you don't on Sams, you get discounts in games which other wise will cost you more,if you want a new game that just came out and the game is $19.99 and they sell it for $9.99 you saved $10,your membership is already paying, but there are several games that are also $10 but are offer free, now you saved another $10 there. Dynamics Themes that cost $3 free, you keep saying. There is nothing nonsense about this article it clearly how much you can save,it is easy to see that not every one will save that much, but the savings are there, just because you don't want to see them and just want to pretend to ignore them doesn't mean they are not there. Its complete nonsense for two reasons.
One, they've come to this number by totalling the RRP of everything PSN offers at a discount or for free. Now that would be fine if you actually owned that content, but with PSN+ you are renting it which is very different, once your membership runs out you lose it all. Therefore the number is not accurate at all, since other than themes and avatars, you own nothing.
Secondly, people don't spend $881+ dollars on PSN each year, therefore they won't be saving $881.
