Yeah but how much money do I have to spend in order to save that much?... Its not worth it. I don't care how much I save if I have to spend money to save money it doesn't seem like a deal at all.

Looks over a STEAM sales. Laughes at people who pay $50 a year for discounts and items you only keep while your paying lol

Steam has amazing deals, but $50 gets you games to play (included) AND discounts equivalent to steam sales.
Now I have stretched $50 quite a long ways in past steam sales as well - heck I bought the whole Valve Collection for $49.99 last year and several other complete retail games in the $3-$5 range - nevermind indy games for even less than that. But PSN+ is nothing to laugh at either, especially compared to XBOX Live. You have to wait for steam sales to happen, just the same as with PSN+ deals. The best PSN+ deals are getting you games as litlte as $.99 and usually under $5.00. Granted you are not getting fairly recent full retail games in the $5-10 range like you can get with some of Steam's best deals. That's where Steam blows everyone away.

Yeah PSN+ can be a great deal on consoles but it's no Steam.[QUOTE="2Chalupas"]

If you can tell me what my "argument" was, because I wasn't playing an either-or game. I'm saying both are a good deal. That's one of the best deals Valve has probably ever had. I just said PSN+ was nothing to laugh at either. I would say I could stretch $50 further on a Steam sale if I stuck with the best deals on downloadable full RETAIL games, but it's still easily worth spending $50 on PSN+ - because like I said you get a bunch of arcade games AND extra discounts randomly throughout the year. So for me, both deals are worth it.
Also the Valve collection was actually listed at $24.99 for a few hours last year (I had it in my cart when the price went up to $49.99). I was kind of pissed at first about the price change, then went ahead and bought it a few days later because it was still a good deal. They must have decided the lower price was TOO good

and yet steam users laugh at everyone else, while they are going out spending money for games they will probably never play, and probably never play for more than 5 hrs

And you have some sort of magic crystal ball that tells you what people play? What do you care what the play or do with the games they buy? The deals are there and that's a straight up fact. So by all means continue to interject your opinion. I might as well say Blu-Ray is useless in PS3 because more people are going to play games on it lol
[QUOTE="erwingameon"][QUOTE="kuraimen"] Eh because you basically get all your online content without having to pay for PSN+. Come on people this is not rocket science. And the official cost of Live is $60.kuraimen
Well whoopdidoe, what a complete difference. This is like comparing a PS3 with a PS3 slim, totally different systems (sarcastic).
Eh that's basically a very big difference I can play all my game library online without paying for PSN+ while you can't play all your game library online without paying for Live. How is that a small difference is anyway or form? Also, how is that like the slim difference? can't I play all my games online with the PS3 fat or something? :| I suggest you read what you write beforehand.Did i compare the slim with online play, no i didn't. I suggest you read what peole say proparly before you reply in a mannar that absolutely doesn't make sense. I'm getting tired of you Sony fanboys loving everything Sony does and bashing everything on the Xbox, even when things are close to the same. What a joke.
Looks to me that you Sony fanboys just can't admit that anything MS does is any good. I've never read anything possitive from a Sony fanboy about MS, but plenty of good things from MS fanboys about Sony. Guess that's why you Sony fanboys don't make sense half of the time, cause you go to such lenghts just so you don't have to admit the fact that MS does a great job with the xbox just like Sony does a grat job with the PS3.

You're not even making sense man.
Your logic for why PSN+ is not a great deal, is because of a twice a year steam sale? Seriously? Your obviously butt hurt enough to vist the PSN+ thread to tell everyone your "laughing" at them.
Is it possible both are good deals? Because I think so...
It is kind of funny though since its only tormentos, yet all the lems who defend xbl came in here to bash, lol[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="TheEroica"] I know, tell me about it... kinda like those who are defending PS+ and yet constantly bash XBL.... Damn double standards.RR360DD

same here... the way I see it is if there is a service and you want it then get it, we're not talking about a thousand dollars here, we're talking about 50 stretched over an entire year, main reason why i chuckle heartily at the influx of XBL bash threads that spew from every corner of this forum. Just a shame that most Sony/PS3 fanboys bash everything from MS/Xbox360, while no MS/Xbox360 fanboy has any problems with Sony/PS3 products/services.
That's the only reason why MS and Sony fanboys keep colliding in these forums.
PSplus is a great value imo lems are just butthurt they dont get free stuff with goldSnyper-007
if you really want to play this game
following their logic lets look at xbox live's deal of the week;
this week if you buy everything that's reduced you save 3000ms points
3000*52=156000ms points saved per year
if you buy points from your xbox then the best rate is 117.6 points per £ which gives a saving of £1326 per year or $2131 per year
flawed logic isn't it?
XBL content is not free or rent in any way,XBL = $60 dollar for online play,PSN+ = a rent service if you want to see it that way,where you get tons of stuff free including DLC like maps for games like Killzone 3,which on 360 will cost you $10 or $15 dollars depending what games it is.We're back to the same old Sony fanboy double standards, implying that all of the 'free' content on PS+ is totally valuable, but none of the content on XBL has any value at all.
KevinnButlerNPK
[QUOTE="sts106mat"]you get halo reach on PSN now? or gears 3?tormentosYou don't get Uncharted,Socom,Mag,Killzone,Resistance and many others,now Halo is a justification to pay a fee. lol
In fact for many players, the Halo series alone is a justification to pay a fee. LOL

Again you go with the free stuff crap. Explain how is paying $50 to access a service free.
Do you get to keep the free games after you stop paying for PS plus?
Also, if you add up the savings on games for Gold Exclusive sales that happen every week, I'm sure XBL would have a similar, albeit slightly, but still good number
I consider anything free on PSN+ after the $50 dollar fee,once i cross the $50 dollar fee i invested in the service,all is free PSN+ is a good investment,which is not mandatory. XBL is a rip off MS charge you for allowing you to use a part of games which you already pay for,comparing XBL vs PSN+ is a joke on lemmings side because they feel that some how a service in which you get something for what you pay for,is actually worst that a service where you pay to access content that you already pay for which every one offer free.tormentos
You oviously don't know what your talking about since even after investing the$50 fee for PSN+ not all is free. Only some stuff is free, but other thing you still have to pay for. Get your facts correct before you post nonsense mate.
The ones you buy with discounts yes,the ones download as free are only access at long as you pay,but does MS let you have online gaming after your year if over.? you dont keep online play thoughLuckily online play wasn't the object of discussion here.
XBL isn't a service, it's consumer fraud.
PS+ is a service that can save you money depending on your gaming tastes (which for me, isn't the case.)
PSN is free and in many ways superior to XBL, such as having actual dedicated servers for some games.
Gears = laggy 5 vs 5
Resistance = perfect 32 vs 32
Halo = good 8 vs 8
MAG = good 128 vs 128
The difference is dedicated servers which XBL doesn't have, and they make you watch commercials on top of ripping ppl off.

you dont keep online play though Exactly... They are complaining because the free games,can be play once your subscription is up,like if they could play once their year is up.I think there is no better way to say it that this,comparing PSN + which is optional vs XBL which is mandatory is a joke,they just don't want to get it because they know how sad is paying for something every one get for free but them.XBL isn't a service, it's consumer fraud.

Again you are wrong, XBL doesn't unlock multiplayer. When i buy any game with online multiplayer it's already unlocked. The only problem is that you need a server to be able to use it. If i had my own capable server i would be able to play any online game without the need for MS or Sony. So how can you say that XBL unlocks online multiplayer.
