Trying to defend Live against what PSN + offers makes look like a dumb sh_t. Oh wait... you're a pathetic fanboy, you don't mind being a dumb sh_t.

I paid on avg. $50 a year for Live... have done so for 8 years now... I guess I'm a dumb sh_t too... the difference is I mind it, which is why I'm going PS4 w/ PSN+ this time around. SCREW M$

It's free that is true but overall better sales on a week by week basis no. STEAM does have amazing sales on 100's of games when they have the seasonal mega events but that's only a few weeks out of the year. The midweek and weekend deals aren't any good IMO. You do pay for PSN subscription true but you get most if not all of Sony's biggest exclusives for "free" along with a bunch of games/DLC/Themes or whatever they throw in every single week. For consoles it's no contest. But yea, STEAM's Summer/Winter/Black Friday events can't be touched because it's a free service and the deals are sick.

psn+ you get a crap load of games because it's a rental service so you are saving more then $10....

And looking at the success of gamestop trade in's you guys are renting the majority of games you actually purchased. And the trade in rates vs game costs is costing you way more than $50 a year. Its funny how everybody will hand on their physical discs for next to nothing yet spending $50 a year for unlimited access to tons of games on top of very good discounts is somehow a bad thing.

here are some games I bought during midweek and weekend sales recently:

Alan Wake

The Witcher 2

Civ 5

Hitman Absolution

Just Cause 2

Batman Arkhum City

Chivelray Midevil Warfare

All for less than 8 bucks some less than 5.

Most notable game on sale right now is the F.E.A.R. series going for 5 bucks or less for each and $13.74 for the collection.   And it is not even mid week.  Who knows what gets announced on wednesday.

Point is even if you only factor in mid week and weekend sales and forget about summer sales that basically give you games for free steams sales>anything on console.

Funny, I can still play my steam games on multiple PCs, simultaneously, by having the extra PCs in offline mode. Also, I've got several games from GOG, with no DRM whatsoever.

But you're right. Getting games for rental prices is not as good as being able to pay extra for the privilege of paying slightly less than full retail.

Yea. You can play Steam games on multiple PC's but only from the account you purchased it on. At least console games give you a license for every person on that device. And don't act like Steam sales are incredible all the time. Looking at this weeks sales and the really cheap games are ones that nobody even buys anymore. I've seen Fear sell for as cheap as it is this week at Gamestop. And Holy Shit. NASCAR The Game 2013 for $35.99 for a single user. Ill be right on that one. Lol

As long as we're talking about single player games, just sign into steam, with your own account, on one computer, go to offline mode, sign into the same steam account on another computer. Both can play at the same time. Steam doesn't communicate with it's own servers while in offline mode (obviously), so it doesn't know it's signed in on multiple systems.

So, because crappy games also exist, amazing prices on good games don't count anymore? Got it.

Also, so what if you get a licence for every person on your console? It's still one console. If I want to let my friend/girlfriend/brother/sister/whoever play  my  steam games, using  my  computer... They can just turn on my computer and open my steam account. Not sure what kind of benefit you're talking about.

whether the sales are good or not are completely subjective to those interested in the games on sale.  I don't expect consolites to like pc games so... with that said there is another hole in your argument.  That being that pc gaming isnt limited to just steam.  Steam, Gog, amazon, gamersgate, desura, gamefly, direct2play, getgamesgo, impulsedriven, cdkeyhouse, etc are all competing all year round, which is why pc gaming sees sales every day across many games.  I'm sorry but pc gaming sales just cannot be touched, not even close!

What hoops? Clicking a button?

And I'm still not sure what you're even arguing about, with the "same account" nonsense. You buy a digital game from XBL/PSN and you get a licence for all of the users "on that device" (your own words). What exactly is the benefit of multiple accounts on the same device?

Deals are pretty much constant on steam and you get two big sales each year along with some decent ones in the middle. Not only that but some games are already cheap without the sales.

And yet physical copies of most of these games can be purchased just as cheap as Steam, both new and used. I got Alan Wake for $3.00 on Amazon for the 360 when it wasn't even a year old. I didnt pay much more for both Fear games than they cost right now. Steam gives you the illusion that you are getting a great deal but with the exception of a few bigger sales, they are usually games that nobody would buy otherwise. Better to get a few bucks for a game than get nothing at all.

[QUOTE="Murderstyle75"][QUOTE="shadowchronicle"] I'm just going to stop you there when you said they aren't nearly as good as PSN+ weekly deals. What kind of deals are you talking about, ones where you save $2? Deals are pretty much constant on steam and you get two big sales each year along with some decent ones in the middle. Not only that but some games are already cheap without the sales. Rage010101

And many got alan wake alan wake collection on pc not long ago for just $1, even less for those who didnt want it on steam...just stop man, pc gaming prices just cant be beat.  It is a fact at this point.

Notice how you say "Not Long Ago". The first one is a 3 year old game and the second one is a $15 arcade title. Can't say I'm impressed. When Steam offers games for 1 to 3 dollars that people still actually buy, then we can talk. Most of these games left the Kmart clearance racks long ago.

Playstaton fans = the most insecure gamers alive.  PC gamers arent even that bad.

If you guys all think the Xbox One is going to flop why are you posting about it so much?  You compare your beloved PS4 to it like they're that different.  You should hate the Xbox for proving an online service can be paid for.  You should hate Sony for thinking PSN is that kind of service.

I'm certain if the Xbox never existed Sony would just now be introducing an online gaming "service".  Sony's Japanese management is big on sticking with "what works" and without the Xbox taking chunks of their market share they would still be in 2003.

As far as sales go, Microsoft doesnt need to discount titles, they actually sell on the 360.  PS3 has not been known for moving large amounts of games compared to the 360.

[QUOTE="Heil68"]Value, only 1 small part of the PSN network, thank you Sony. RR360DD

I'm getting PSN+ soon, cant resist. I'm all in. Probably let Live expire, dont think many people will be playing 360 much after X180 launches.

[QUOTE="Murderstyle75"]And there you go. Jumping through hoops using the "SAME" Steam Account.Murderstyle75

What hoops? Clicking a button?

And I'm still not sure what you're even arguing about, with the "same account" nonsense. You buy a digital game from XBL/PSN and you get a licence for all of the users "on that device" (your own words). What exactly is the benefit of multiple accounts on the same device?

Me and my sons have our own friends lists, stats, achievements, screen names, etc?

Oh, okay. Superflous bullshit that doesn't do anything to change or improve the core gaming experience. Got it.

Its part of the experience. Something lonely hermits could never understand because they don't have family competition or somebody to even mate with to have kids. Its just you, your computer screen and your hand sanitizer. Worship your $3 DRM saturated games that nobody buys all you want to. Just don't act like it does anything extra for the core experience.

No defeat here. You are describing the loner experience by calling my reasons, Superflous bullshit. Then you act like 3 year old games for $3.49 does something for the core experience. FACT. If people actually still bought these games, they wouldn't cost $3.49.

PS+ is one of the best deals out there, i could see it being being even more beneficial if you happen to be on a budget.

cainetao11

It is a cool service. I'm in my second year and have rented 20 games from it. Yes, rented. If I don't pay Sony, I can't play those games. Pay Sony does not equal free. I have no doubt MS will follow suit with their own version of it. I bet that's what the 2 game downloads a month is about now. Trying to gauge user interest.

2 years and only 20 games? lol i gotta be close to 100 in my last 2 years. you're not doing it right.

anyways, when did i say anything about free? ever in my post? i know exactly what ps+ is, and my point still stands that it is one of the best deals out there.

Yes, he lost a long time ago, even before he tried.  Guy is trying so hard to say ps+ sales are better than pc's when at this point it is pretty much widely known as a fact that pc game sales cannot be beat, I mean not even close!

Actually my comparison had nothing to do with playstation plus. It had to do with the fact that most of these really cheap Steam games can be found in flea markets, thrift shops and pawn shops for similar prices. Nothing amazing about $3 games that died a long time ago. Like I said. If these games were actually on demand, they wouldn't be pushed for so cheap. But you hermits keep dreaming about your amazing single account game prices for clearance rack titles.

lol when XBL gets owned just side with PC gamers. Cool strat, mems...oh and OP=ownage. No denying that.

XBL has weekly sales on all kinds of stuff. U mad?

That's true. I just bought a few games on sales for $2.50 & $5.00 on XBL this morning. Every Monday starts a new sales week I believe. Don't know why cows would think XBL doesn't have games on sales. They are always running specials.

Steam has better sales. And it's free.

SexyJazzCat
PS+ gives you free games. I joined last week and so far I have: Uncharted 3 Saint's Row The Third XCOM Enemy Unknown Deus Ex Human Revolution And coming soon, Battlefield 3. Beat that.
