Which is which?
They both look more or less on the same level, but one is little better than the other.

Ah.
took the words right out of my mouth...3DS hasnt even been released yet..it BETTER have better grfx than the 5 yr old pspWhy are people comparing the PSP to the 3DS? Don't they realize how old the PSP is?
Ragnarok1051
Interesting comparison. The 3ds version has better textures and a better resolution. Not a amssive difference but still pretty impressive for a launch title.
you guys should see the screens for resident evil 3ds, i mean seriously. i guess the rumor of the handheld being closer to xbox 360 and ps3 than the wii is true. Rahnyc4Where?
Yeah. It's like comparing the PS1 to Sega Genesis. Why are people comparing the PSP to the 3DS? Don't they realize how old the PSP is?

omfg!!.. Metal Gear Solid 3 port for the 3DS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Doubt it's anywhere near the Wii in terms of power. With the lower resolution of handheld games the gamess require a lot less power. Fore xample people claimed the psp was as strong as the ps2 which isn't the case at all. It can produce "similar" graphics because of the extremely low resolutions, but the amount of polygons etc being pushed is no where near the ps2 counter part.

then again unlike the psp, it took a while to show just how capable the hardware of the psp truly was. the 3ds out of the gate already showing things thats tops compare to what we normally see. imagine how developed the games will be later on. also the system is doing 3d, which requires a lot of system resource, which takes a few out of the hardware. You can't really expect launch games to be representative a platforms potential. Look at the launch titles from any platform and they pale in comparison to the games released now.Zero5000Xtrue.this is the beggining of 3ds power. PSP Peace is the top of PSP power. Is not fair tho, As 3ds is coming years later. But obviously im getting a 3ds.If the RE shots are gameplay.then omg...Seriously, its a huge step ahead of psp limits or DSI ones. But what truly SCREAMS omg at me is this fact: Psp was designed to be around power. No motion, no sensor no touch. Just for visuals. 3d is around 3d, not merely graphics. And yet it manages to put power and 3ds in dual screens. A big feat.

Gamingunion.net says that MGS 3D will "have the exact same gameplay as the original, albiet with slightly less graphical fidelity."That would mean it is slightly weaker than a PS2; definitely not more powerful than the Wii.
It will look noticeably nicer than PSP games, though, because it appears to have a higher resolution.

I'm gonna be honest; the 'slightly less graphical fidelity' comment smacks of opinion; has he played it? Or just seen the screens and assumed? I'm not going to 'debunk' this opinion with my own; but judging the screens shown, the game seemingly has more detail than the original snake eater. Correct me if i'm wrong, but bump/bitmapping wasn't used in the original on crocs, plants, or even snake for that matter was it? Analysing the screen shots, it's blatantly obvious that MGS 3DS looks FAR better than peace walker though. (Though I do love peacewalker :3 )is the 3DS Metal Gear a new one or a port of Peace Walker? Metar Gear is now a on all systems lolRTUUMMits a rehashed port of a 6 year old game....snake eater....its not peace walker...and metal gear has been on nintendo systems for a long time....starting with the game cube.
Here's some better peace walker screenshots.
My verdict: Can't really tell. Lets wait for videos and more screenshots.
Snake Eater remake looks so good. But im curious to see how it will control with one analog stick because the controls on peace walker can get bothersome. I need a live demo NOW.

These screens are touched up. The psp's screen resolution is not the same. The lack of aliasing also shows that.
its a rehashed port of a 6 year old game....snake eater....its not peace walker...and metal gear has been on nintendo systems for a long time....starting with the game cube. So now it's possible to play Metal Gear Solid remake on the Wii (BC), MGS2 on your Xbox 360 (BC), and MGS3 on your 3DS. But 4, Portable Ops and Peace Walker are still exclusive.[QUOTE="RTUUMM"]is the 3DS Metal Gear a new one or a port of Peace Walker? Metar Gear is now a on all systems lolbytgames

Judging from the screens its built from the ground up.[QUOTE="bytgames"]

You guys are being fooled by the TC - the psp screenshots aren't crisp because he didn't post actual screenCAPS. Gamespot can't do actual screencaps because they don't have "special" firmware (or at least i'm pretty sure they don't)
windsquid9000's post shows actual screenshots - even though those aren't the psp's resolution
